Ed I saw on the liverpool page you've said gravenberch wants to come to us next season. If you don't mind me asking is this a deal we are interested in making?

Also, anyone on here any insight into what type of player he is? I can't say I've seen much of him.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure ten Hag would want to work with him again but Bayern may resist a sale.}

He's a box to box player more inclined towards attacking than defending, good technique, good on the ball, more likely to progress the ball through dribbling or carrying the ball through the middle than picking out 60 yard switch of plays. Great for breaking lines of pressure.

He'd be a great player if we could sign him.

Erik getting the band back together it seems. What happens when we run out of Ajax players?

Seems that Sabitzer has become a bit of a fan favourite in recent weeks.
Who would you prefer of the two? It doesn't seem likely Bayern will sell both, although they are adding Laimer.

Gravenberch any day of the week.

Gravenberch lots of potential but think I’ve read that too raw to get into Bayern team (needs coaching on tracking back etc) so, if he signed, maybe not be first choice immediately while ETH coaches him.

Huge potential though if he has the right attitude.

Spenno.

They might.
On top of the arrival of Laimer, they have two young midfielders coming through who will be stars - Wanner and Ibrahimovic.
So they'll be working with the senior options of Laimer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Musiala, Martinez, Gnabry, Müller, and even Blind or Lahm if necessary.
Additionally, I would expect them to also sign Tom Bischof of Hoffenheim.

They seem to like a core of 4 exceptional midfielders with youth and experience, plus a second group consisting of the next stars and the wise old heads. On that basis, even without Bischof, they might well sanction the sales of both Sabitzer and Gravenberch.

I'd bite their hands off.
They'd want around £60m, certainly more than the £25m that Liverpool think he'll go for.

I've just remembered that Lahm's retired.

Doh!

{Ed077's Note - who is the Martinez you're referring to too?}

Ed077.

Has he retired as well?

I'll get my coat lol.

{Ed077's Note - if you meant Javi Martinez then no, not retired but he left Bayern in 2021.}

The Spanish lad they had from bilbao I think he means ed. Javi martinez.

{Ed077's Note - "had" being the keyword here. :-D}

Shall we count their ballboys and catering staff too while we're at it :D.

Between Sabitzer and Gravenberch I'd probably edge towards Gravenberch due to his potential.

At the moment they are probably fairly even, with Sabitzer probably the more consistent option of the two. But Gravenberch could genuinely be one of the top midfielders in the world if he can reach his full potential. For that alone, especially with his old manager in charge, he's probably go he better one to go for.

And if that’s the case they have no motivation to sell him. I think we will see Sabitzer join and maybe one other.

Eric, they might not have a motivation to sell him, but the player might have motivation to leave.

The reality for Gravenberch is Kimmich and Goretzka are clear first choice and will start 90% of the games they are fit and available for. They will be signing Konrad Laimer this summer, and they still have Sabitzer and Musiala.

Making him one of 6 players for a maximum of three starting spots. Realistically, given that he won't play at No.10 and Bayern typically play with a double pivot then he's likely to be one of five for two starting spots.

Of he wants regular football then he will likely need to leave.
