Reports Cas maybe off to saudi in jan window. Also reports murtagh was in saudi. Not sure if any of it is true. I think it is a very stupid move if we do this and should move players in the summer.

Ambrabat is off to afcon and selling cas in jan makes no sense and playing mainoo every game can be quite detrimental to his development imo. Same goes for varrane both big players who we will need in the second half of the season.

No issues with Martial, Sancho, DVB going as long as we get another striker in jan even on loan as they contribute almost nothing and hardly play.

Also reports reguillon maybe going and as long as malacia s back i am okay with that personally. defensively he is a liability and gets caught out far too often for my liking with players getting behind him.

Ahmad - it all depends on how much they get for Casemiro. The Saudis pay stupid money. If we get something like 30-40 million for him we could look at replacing him with someone like Khephren Thuram. A much younger, quicker, hungrier player.
Hopefully we can get rid of Sancho and get a bit of money in for him.
If a bid for Rashford come in i would have no hesitation in getting rid.

Ten Hag is lighting fires with the most expensive players in the squad based on wages.
Ronaldo - Gone
De Gea - Gone
Casemiro - Next
Sancho - Virtually Gone
Varane - Will Go
Maguire - Will Go
Rashford, Fernandes….

And so on. The whole wage structure is getting eaten away at bit by bit to bring it down to acceptable levels.

I can see the club donig all this stuff to bring down our wages especially with ffp hanging over our head. If you are eth he is not in charge of the clubs accounts or finances and can't see how he or the team benefits from these guys leaving in jan looking at the squad and summer makes more sense.

In Jan, even if we get good money the ideal replacements are mostly not available. Most of the guys we are being linked to are in top teams in their respective leagues, mostly all still in Europe and I would guess domestic cup competition and key players for their teams and can't see them being available.

Most team try and strengthen in Jan for the second half or bring players in to offset long term injuries to the squad.

It also takes time for any replacement to have a major impact, when you consider new team, city, new league, coaching and just a host of things.

Casemiro and Varane will not be allowed to leave unless they are guaranteed to be replaced.

We are incompetently run but not that incompetently.

DSG - I wouldn't put anything past that club at the moment.
It's the club that just keeps giving.

We should not be buying overpriced high wages players when the team is rebuilding, we should be finding players who can develop into being top players.

Neither will be part of a team that wins a league and never were going to be, we just weren't there. Therefore sell them get the wages off the book and free up space to use on players who will be part of a side who can win the league in the future. Every penny spent on them and its a lot, hurts our ability to sign players who could.

If the ultimate aim of United is to build a team who can challenge for EPL or ECL then money on such players is wasted money.

I do t think either is a bad player far from it, j just don't think it is wise use of funds.

No issue moving Casemiro on in my opinion. We have a capable replacement in Mainoo and I think Casemiro starting would hinder his development. He is more than capable of starting and a good run of games will see him continue to grow.

The contract offered was far too long considering his age. I agree with Fzz, time to bring the squad to acceptable wage levels and I am all for it. Similar to what Arteta did with Arsenal.

Lets get some money back and use it wisely in the summer.

Might not be ten hags money ahmad but he knows they have no hunger because of the amount they get paid, most of them see it as a retirement home. Also it may be a policy between dof and manager and then ceo to bring it all down or maybe as the ratcliffe deal has been going on fpr 2 years maybe he has some say in it.
Also ffp is a big factor like you said.

Both are the ultimate professionals and disagree on the no hunger. Both are winners of the biggest trophies around and its in their DNA and never seen either not put in a major shift.

People criticize cas this season but we have been wide open no matter who has played in that position and even Mainoo would struggle if he does not have another sitting midfielder next to him. Just way too much space to cover for any one player.

I think summer is fine but Jan is pure stupidity unless internally they have decided to write the season off and our ffp issues are worse than we know which also means eth is leaving. It will not be a footballing decision but a finance decision if it happens.

Romano says they both had offers from Saudi last summer so if it was about money and no hunger, they would have been gone already.

Kurtis

You can't play maninoo every game and we will ruin his development. He would benefit a lot having his minutes managed and playing next to cas and learning from him. Cas is the best defensive mid in football that has played in the last 7 or 8 years and not a donkey because of a injury ridden start to a season over 10 appearances.

I am sure the Saudis will pay top money for him if he wanted to go and earn a ton more when you think about who they bought and what they paid, he is the current Captain of Brazils national team and that would be a feather in theri cap if you see what they are doing with LIV golf.

Looks like the midfield will be up for grabs once again come summer.
Casemiro (supposedly) on Saudi radars.
Amrabat (supposedly) not likely to be signed permanently.
McT (definitely) still dividing opinion.

Personally think the latter two will still be here at the start of next season but even with the emergence of Mainoo we'll need something in addition.

Utd needs a whole midfield overhaul. The only midfielder I would keep in Mainoo.

What a sorry state of affairs.

I have been used to needing a midfield overhaul since Scholes first retired. In that time the best we managed was Scholes unretiring.
