Just watched the ole interview, never seen a sacked manager give one before but what stands out is, whatever you think of him as a manager he's a good man and a united fan. I hope he enjoys a break and wish him every success in the future. That night in Barcelona won't be forgotten ❤️?⚫️?.

{Ed0666's Note - he’s a gem of a human being just a poor football coach. I think he even realizes that.

Player ole will always been a legend.

Shame the manager ole couldn't do what we all wanted but he brought some positivity back and if we are being honest with his pack of coaching skill didn't do to bad of a job other thab the past few months

But those players need a slap in the face, they are just at fault as the manager.

He probably didn't have to do this I terrier, but it speaks volumes about him as a person.

I wish him the best tod luck, if he ever becomes a manager again.

66 careful. You’d think he’s a scumbag from what you read on here.

Top bloke who cares about the club- but as carragher said he will never be capable of competing with the biggest names, unfortunately it’s taken those in charge too long to realise.

{Ed0666's Note - don’t blame the guy. It’s like when your unattractive and no charisma and somehow you manage to date a hot chick at college/school/uni you know you’re punching and it will come to an end real soon but you just play it out for as long as you can.

One of my all time favourite players. Got to live his dream on the field and off it, just not the ending he wanted.

But he had to go as the job was way to big for him, a real football club woulld have sacked him the day after losing the Europa final.

Good luck to him in the future, hope he gets a great ovation when he next comes to O. T in any capacity.

{Ed0666's Note - personally I hope he gets a 5 year contract to manage the first team when he visits old trafford next. ?

And in his interview he said again “trophies aren’t the be-all and end-all”, where in fact it’s exactly what his job was to do. Glad he’s gone. Wish him well.

Ole needs to be remembered for what he did and 1999, that and steadying the ship over the last couple of years.

He probably was never good enough as a coach but he loved the club unlike the previous 2 or 3 and deserved credit for that.

Let’s not forget the Ed’s on this site have been saying for a long time the problems stem right from the top and it’s just unfortunate Ole ended up paying for that.

We may need to write off this season a little bit but if it means getting the right person in for the start of next that has to be for the better.

He's a woeful manager. All this "He's a lovely guy, he's a family man, he loves the club" bleary eyed nonsense is what has us in this mess. He was out of his depth and essentially blew a golden opportunity at the club.

Im sure he's a nice guy but he's obviously not particularly bright. He didn't learn a single thing in 36 months in charge. If it wasn't for deluded fans and his mates in the media he would have been hounded out of the club a long time ago. Gary Neville wrote "Thank you for bringing the soul back to the club" the soul of Man Utd is capitulation is it Gary? The soul of Man Utd is mediocrity?

We're lucky as a club we have a long long list of legends. Let him go back into the history books were he belongs and we can start to look to the future.

I'm sure he's a wonderful guy. But that doesn't make him a good manager. And none of us are sure the next manager will be better. But Solskjaer had to go as he's not good enough.
Agree with Mumbles sentiments completely. Whether anyone likes it or not, the job is about winning trophies, and we've gone longer without a trophy than in 80s when we were supposed to be crap.
To make it worse, three of our supposed competitors have the three best managers in the world, while we're messing around with an ex player who was clearly out of his depth.
If anyone can't see Solskjaer's ineptitude for the job, then we've got a problem.
The best way I can sum it up is that Solskjaer is a fan but he's not a manager. Period.

Fairly sure everyone can see that he was out of his depth in the end, he must have known that himself, the interview showed many of his flaws, he’s far too nice, he said it’s not all about winning trophies and said he is proud of his achievements when he didn’t actually achieve anything.

Will always be a legend and the outpouring on social media of people being great to him has been really nice to see, it’s a shame the same can’t be said on here but maybe some are young and don’t remember him as a player so it can be forgiven.

Thank you Ole, come back as a fan and hopefully you’ll see a much better side that you helped put together.

The final interview, sorry the final tear jerking interview and the stories of how he stopped his car leaving the training ground to hug a fan and tell them it was his greatest honour, highlights the exact issue. Sentimentality and that is one of the the main reasons why we are floundering. All the thank you’s and sobbing is ridiculous. He should never have been given the job, then failed utterly and has not achieved anything, won nothing. When sacked, it’s like Titanic film again watching Jack sink into the water with accompanying music and tears all round. For goodness sake, he wasn’t a great player but did well as a player, scored a vital goal that made him a playing legend. Awful manager as expected, just let him go without this nonsense, our rivals must be laughing.
Move on.

Its like watching a chick flix rather than a football team. No wonder his PR pals pushed the "he is ruthless" narrative, clearly didn't have the mentality to be a top manager. You need a certain amount of detachment to make the tough decisions, at least he can go back to be a supporter like the rest of us.

Red Man, you've nailed it.

15.) 22 Nov 2021
22 Nov 2021 09:19:42
In your opinion, I disagree, I think the interview showed class and respect for a club legend and there is a reason people are sad about a legend losing his job. Good from the club and we can move on.

16.) 22 Nov 2021
22 Nov 2021 10:44:13
A load of tosh I thought, an outgoing interview ? Don't understand it one bit. All this sentimental stuff for a guy who shouldn't have been anywhere near the job.

Praying this club decides to get serious soon. Our behaviour over the last 3 years has been laughable.

{Ed014's Note - it was utter bollox and somewhat embarrassing, just get out the door fella.

17.) 22 Nov 2021
22 Nov 2021 11:52:18
I don't feel sorry for him either. He will be alright, I'm sure his good pal Jim Solbakken will look after him.

Ed014, did Chelsea do that for Frank? A much bigger player to Chelsea than OGS was to us.

Maybe I'm mad, but I just don't get it with OGS, yes a good player who probably gave much of this generation their greatest ever moment, a legendary night but he, himself a legendary player? I never got it.

He has possibly set us back years, definitely much worse than Jose.

{Ed014's Note - no mate, don’t know anyone who has and agree mate, it’s beyond soppy but that is Ole.

A crazy appointment who has in my honest opinion achieved zero at United other than like you say, set you back even further.

I’ve said it from day 1, I don’t rate your squad and think it’s madness to suggest otherwise but it’s only my opinion of what I see.

For me you’re in with the rest of us also rans when it comes to title or Champions league challenges, not that we’re even in the latter.

No offence meant as you do have some quality in there but nowhere near enough, I don’t see any longevity in it either.

19.) 22 Nov 2021
22 Nov 2021 12:15:55
God forbid we have any emotion in football!

{Ed014's Note - there’s emotion and then there’s just being a sap ?‍♂️

Nice guy but give it a rest mate, you’ve had your day in the sunshine and mugged off your club in the process so just disappear quietly.

20.) 22 Nov 2021
22 Nov 2021 14:48:59
Plenty of emotion in football Nou, but that was so OTT and made us look the amateurs that we are.

Sure ed014, I can understand that, what have then done to prove you otherwise?

But for me, I see a squad capable of much more, whatever that may be. Surely a bit of organisation and purpose will see us change for the better. Can't get much worse.

The club need someone ruthless in there, Conte was perfect.

{Ed014's Note - absolutely not saying they can’t do better as he was getting next to nothing from them.

As to how much that squad can actually achieve is where I have my doubts, I just can’t see that it’s close to as good as a United squad should be.

How many times have you 2nd string been battered too mate.

I think you are as desperate for a change of ownership as we are, real football people owning our respective clubs or at least want to win rather than accepting being nearly men as something that suits their purpose.
