I would keep an eye on Arsenal though. Tierney and Taveres out. Seems they're making space for someone.

Chelsea reported as interested in Smith-Rowe too. Are Arsenal interested too?

Tierney is a good player. Not sure why Arsenal moved him out.

Cucurella will be a good player for United, I think he suits EtH's style well and is EPL proven. Some people have concerns over his form last season at Chelsea, but frankly they were in a mess last season and they also have Chilwell so it wasn't an easy time for him to join. Pep also wanted him at City and he does not make too many bad calls. He was arguably the best LB in the league in his final season at Brighton, certainly well in the conversation at a bare minimum. While if he had been at his best last season for Chelsea then he wouldn't be an option to us on loan this season.

If we are looking at loan options there won't be a great choice of world class players available. Clubs tend to only let players leave on loan for two reasons. They are young and haven't proven themselves yet and need game time to develop. Or they are a player the club wants to get rid of for some reason but are struggling to get a fee.

Clubs don't tended to let their better players leave on loan. This might be one of the few times where we do get a top player on loan.

Speaking of which, I'm starting to think that the Gravenberch/ McTominay loan switch might actually happen. When it first broke my first thought was that's ridiculous, but then I thought it's so mad that there must actually be something in it. No journalist is going to make up such an unbelievable story after all. Now it seems that it could well happen. Apparently Tuchel is a fan of McSauce, while Gravenberch wants to leave and has United as his ideal destination.

If we get Cucurella and Gravenberch on loan before the window closes then that's two great players who improve us brought in.

I wonder if the question come up with Onana are you going back to internationals when we bought him, exactly why Fergie said he would not buy players again that go away for African cup, hope our possible new keeper is decent as he will get quite a few games.

Yes good thing we never signed players like Mahrez, Salah, Mane, Toure etc previously. They would have prevented the huge amount of success we have achieved in recent years by going to AFCON.

DSG, look at the back up they got, that’s the difference.

Usually AFCON means a player misses 2-3 games, Will give our new keeper a chance to prove himself.

Not over concerned (I hope! ) if our keeper misses a few games but deeply worried about our lack of fire power and inability to maintain attacks.

Trafford I think you should be saying our front 5 have not scored!

We could play as many centre mids as you want but if the ball keeps coming back, then we will always be under pressure defending our back line.

It is like watching school kids with candy getting bullied, when we have the ball.

I wonder, is Biyindir like Onana, good with his feet and plays a similar way? Or did we go for him because he was good, but cheap? You would think this new keeper is also what EtH looks for in a keeper? Anyone know?

Despite what Song says, think it won't be too long before these two have another bust up.

Onana appears to have a bust up with everyone, I think I read he had huge bust up with Ten previously, so clearly he is a little volatile, which should be interesting!
