Brighton tend to do well when scouting these lesser known players, or at least ones that aren't regulars in the print media rumour columns.

A combination of good scouting with a clear focus on what they are looking for. The also benefits from the advantage of being considered a smaller club, so they tend to be able to negotiate fair or even really good deals for these players.

While for the players it gives them a chance to play EPL football for a side that plays good football. Getting regular game time at a club that has a growing reputation for developing players.

For Brighton its a great model, in that they buy 4 or 5 players for 2-15m typically. While they've managed to regularly turn 2-3 of those signings into top players, the likes of which they wouldn't be able t sign if they were at another EPL side. Then sell one or two of them and actually make a profit over all. Look at the fees they've received for the likes of Caicedo (105m), Mac Allister (38m), Robert Sanchez (22m), Cucurella (60m), Trossard (20m), Bissouma (27m) and Ben White (55m) .

That's 327m worth of sales in the last three summers for players they have bought for a combined fee of around 55m with White and Sanchez coming through their youth system.

That's a phenomenal profit. While they still currently have the likes of Mitoma who they paid 3m for, Evan Ferguson who they paid 600k for, Enciso who they bought for 9m, Adingra who they paid 6m for, Buonanotte who they bought for 5m, Lamptey who they bought for 1m and Estupinan who they paid 15m for all still in their squad, and now Barco for a reported 8m.

47.6m paid for those 8 players, which is pretty much what we paid for Bruno alone.

How much would those players sell for now?

Mitoma 50-70m for probably the best winger not at a top four club.

Ferguson probably 100m there or there abouts.

Estupinan is probably the best LB in the league, another 60m at least surely, and with Barco now signing they have their replacement already in the bag.

Lamptey would easily sell for 30m, probably more if he can get bac fully fit.

That's another 240-300m from those four players.

While Enciso, Buonanotte and Adingra are all developing nicely and look ready to break out of the shadows of players like Mitoma when he moves on. Would anyone really be surprised to see each of them eventually leave for 50m plus each? Another 120-200m for those three maybe.

In a few years time Brighton might be sitting on 800-900m worth of player sales from players they bought for less than 100m in total.

That's one hell of a business model, while its also enabled them to have their most successful times on the pitch as well.

Obviously we can't match that as we don't get the chances to sign players like Mitoma for 3m, it'd be at least 5 or 6 times that much the moment we declared an interest. But it does go to show that if you run your club well and scout properly then you can get so much more value out of the transfer market than we have got over the past decade or more.

I am surprised amount has seen him, he is pretty damn good on FM24 though.

If we building a team through FM we need to buy Fresneda at RB, kid becomes awesome.
