Paid effectively £21m for a centre back who played and was solid for every game for his country at the WC, rated to be in the team of the tournament?

£30m for a young solid midfielder who will add a lot of composure to the side with some cutting passing?

£38m for a world class player who was the players player of the year for two years?

£30m for a left back who has potential to be one of the best left backs of the next decade? Who, if he stays with us for the foreseeable, would only cost £3m per season tops?

I think we overpaid on Mata from the above because of his lack of playing time. The others are good business. only person you omitted was the worst and is £28m of floppy hair money wasted.

As for AdM, only time will tell. It is a lot of money (£60m down payment) but could be the difference we need up top but there are other priorities at the back though.

So he's 50 million max but you wouldn't pay 60? It's not your money, we are having to overpay slightly for players now because we have refused to pay the going rate for the last few years. The Chevrolet and Adidas deals have meant we have more spare cash to be able to make these statement signings and put united back where we belong, in the top tier of players.

So maybe stop moaning for the sake of moaning and enjoy watching some quality players at united and good quick attacking football that we frankly haven't seen for a good 5 years.

Nice to see you have already turned on the new manager.

I agree in a sense that we are over paying. But this would have been the case, even if Ed had kept his mouth shut. Everyone knows we are desperate to sign top quality players, so therefore clubs are charging top dollar. And besides that, we are not the only clubs interested in these players and we are the ones that MUST sign them, meaning we have to win any bidding wars (Shaw for instance).

I say cut LVG some slack. He has a plan. We, as supporters, must get behind him and let him implement it.

Who cares how much players cost. If you want world class players you have to pay for them. For too long now UTD have been accused of penny pinching and as soon as they just pay the money a club wants for one of their players we also get complaints. What would you rather happen to the money. share it between the Glazer family. If team A want £50m for a player, the player is happy to join us and we want that player then pay the money.

I don't understand why people are making out it's worse to spend big on a wing back? If we're using this formation for a while is it not a necessity that we sign the best players for it? I can understand being a annoyed at paying 60m for a full back but when a player is going to be basically playing 2 positions and especially someone of di Maria's quality we need to pay big
