Morning to all posters. I've not posted for a while as I turned 60 few weeks back and I've been trying to recover from alcohol since then! However, I've been thoroughly enjoying the posts.
1. StevieK: Fantastic post from a couple of days ago. A United team playing with such little passion and disunited is totally unacceptable. The players should hang their heads in shame.
2. Glazers and Woodward : for as long as these lot are in power, financial gain will always take president over the footballing side. They'll talk a good game in spending millions, but they'll recoup most of that by selling players and more or less balancing the books.
3. Lvg: this guy should have gone when he sold some of our players like Welbeck, chicaritto and Silva. He should have gone when we got knocked out of the CL group stages in the easiest group of the lot. He should have been sacked after the Bournemouth and Norwich and Southampton results. He should have been sacked after the inept Sunderland game. He should have been sacked after the "leggoland" result couple of days ago. Yet, he's still there, making excuses, criticizing players, everything but looking at himself and his methods.
4. What should happen now : if I was Woodward, I'll be on sir Alex's doorstep this morning asking him to take over for the next three months. Sir Alex will enjoy the challenge and you never know, we might even see players playing with passion.
5.get Mourinho in at the end of season and back him properly in the transfer market. Anyone who does not think Mourinho will do a good job will be proven wrong. He will be amazing at our club. He'll be here for three years, but none of the top managers stay in jobs for longer than three years these days. Winger being the exception.
6. What will possibly happen : We do nothing, beat Shrewsbury by the odd goal, sneak in against leggoland and then meet arsenal at OT who will beat us convincingly and lvg will come out and complain about the players and injuries.
And the cycle repeats itself! Will the hierarchy at our club please wake up and start making brave decisions to get ourid wonderful club where it should be.
Thank you for reading.

Agree with your post mate but if Jose wants to be the manager and has said he wants to get back into football ASAP, its the perfect fit. He will have a stress free season with no expectations and can only do better than LVG. He can assess the squad, which players need to go, which need to stay, which need to be loaned, which of the young lads have a chance etc. I personally think he will stay for longer than that and will maybe leave to manage a team in the American league or something a bit different. I think LVG should get a story together about leaving the club as he won't want to be sacked. Yes he has had a long injury list but he has bought poor players and let players go who should have stayed.

The thing we do not know is how much players in general will want to come and play for Jose at United, as opposed to say Pep at City. Based on this season at Chelsea, and his last season at Madrid, is there a possibility that he too may have lost his mojo?

Maybe the problem isn't the manager, it's much deeper than that. The whole club is in need of breaking down and rebuilding. We are going through a classical catharsis. Our financial resources currently give us a potential advantage, but the process better not take too long - a continued period of mediocrity and it will dissipate.

Schmidfield

Not quite as old as you but heading in that direction, so glad you had a good 60th, belated Happy Birthday.

I think this goes beyond the manager, the problem decision maker keeping LVG beyond any sense of reality needs to be ditched and the heat is likely to be on Woodward. The press report him as dithering (which some of us have said for a while) and acting like a rabbit in the headlights. The lack of decision is frankly amazing particularly as it is obvious the dressing room is lost. I wonder if Woodward is actually starting to write his own resignation letter as Executive VC by not leading on this. I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved away from the football side as a result of what can only be described as a debacle on his watch.

Our club is now being humiliated and Woodward allowing it should spell the end of him in the leading position.

That's why we are reading reports on Jose and bringing in a DOF. These things take time and can't be fudged mid season. I thought no he's coming, but in the summer. Until then, we will read annoying press articles on nonsense rumours I'm afraid.

Like I said in previous posts, if it's a done deal, just let Giggs have a crack until summer now. At least we might see the team having a bit of fun with it. There is no fight left in our team, and the season is over. It's pretty disgraceful really and sad to admit. Jose will cull half a dozen of them, and we will be rebuilding again for 12-18 months at least with a man who knows how to get wins whilst doing so.

Its i secret Mourinho idolised Fergie and I think Jose wants a dynasty I honestly believe if he does come he will be here for a decade. you can see how much he has coveted the job remember when his Madrid side knocked us out of Europe and Jose claimed the better side lost. When had he ever been that gracious about a rival. I can see why the club may wait if Jose come in now some of this embarrassing season would still land at his feet. It makes senses to have a new start in the summer let Giggs run it til then and the board can start Pershing Jose' transfer targets. Let's face it who can we try to sign with no champions league football to offer. At least Mourinho will draw top players as players will want to work under him. Perfect result on Monday a 0-0 draw and the clueless one sacked and deported.

Thanks guys for the post replies and the birthday wishes.
I think we all agree that "doing nothing " about the current position is not an option.
Are the club owners that thick or arrogant that they can't see what's happening. Or is Woodward too big headed to admit his mistakes.
We are already the laughing stock of the football world and they seem oblivious to it all.
