Im seeing surprisingly short odds (6/4) for Theo Walcott to move to United. Not heard anything of this before, is this just based on wild rumours or is there something more?

1.) Hopefully wild rumours. He's rubbish.

2.) Should be a sprinter, not a footballer. Awful move, will never happen.

3.) Rather Nani.

4.) I think it's purely based on the fact that Arsenal are signing Sanchez and people putting 2+2 together and making 5. I do wonder where Wenger will fit them both in the side unless one if them switches to the left.

Would it not have been cheaper for them to just buy the club, rename it Liverpool B, and transfer all the players across free?

I must be the only one hoping Vidal doesn't come. Assuming our midfield 3 under LVG will have mata/rooney at no10, herrera, and a CDM, I would much rather see a good young CDM come in, such as Carvalho. Vidal is a brilliant player no doubt, but if you play both him and herrera, someone will need to play out of position, and for 35m or whatever with little resale value, I don't think Vidal is who we really need.

No. Too many if's involved. If juve want to sell, if we are prepared to match their valuation, if vidal wants to come, if we don't end up getting beat to him by Madrid/PSG etc.

Possibly better names, but still as disappointing on the pitch. As much as I like Moyes as a person, it was depressing viewing. The pre season was much much better, and I hope people don't make too much out of the one result against Swansea.

It will probably take a few windows for LVG to get his vision in place, in the same way Moyes was lining up these bigger names for his vision. As Fergie said, our job is to stand by the new manager, and I trust him to deliver given time. I would even prefer to see no new players come in this window than any panic buys, and get us the right player come January or even next Summer.

If we just need a stop gap CDM, then why not just push up Jones? All the right attributes for it, and he gets half a season of regular football to show what he can do. Also completely free.

I agree with you samthered. Too much is being made of Vidal being make or break for the club. I think most important for us is to get another 2 good defenders in. We have plenty going forward to challenge, but a back 3 of Evans, Smalling and Jones terrifies me. I still think Jones has the potential to become world class, but he would really benefit from playing beside a Hummels or someone.

I watched the game against the Galaxy and in the second half it was so clear how much of an impression Flecther had on Blackett and Keane in terms of organizing them. I think getting a top drawer CB, to do the same thing to Jones and Smalling is the priority.
