I've seen us linked to Sørloth from Atletico today. I sincerely hope he's not an option to replace Zirkzee.

Many will only be familiar with Sorloth from his time at the World Cup, maybe against England. No striker is going to get picked over Haaland for that time, so he always gets lumbered on the right wing, which does him no favours whatsoever. As a big target man, he's not awful. Above Wieghorst levels, surely.

He's a slightly above average centre forward, perfectly fine as a starter at a club that is expected to finish between 10th and 5th place, a regular Europa League or occasional UCL club, or as the back up option at a top 4 club. He has 33 goals in 70 appearances for Atletico, which is a solid record.



Which is effectively what we are looking for. At the right price he wouldn't be an awful signing, however, with Atletico likely losing Julian Alvarez this summer, I doubt they would be willing to let another striker leave, certainly not at a reasonable price.
