Jokes aside, do you know about interest in him? And do you rate him as a player?
{Ed001's Note - I have not heard anything much about him, other than what has been on the Leeds page and West Ham page. He is not one I have heard anything regarding a move, other than him wanting a move and West Ham looking to get some money back from his sale.
He is a bit inconsistent for my liking. In fact that is overselling him, as he has had one good run of games and nothing else remotely close. There is a lot of talent there, but he struggles to impose himself on games.}

I don't understand the Summerville link. He's ok, but not shown to be good enough for this move. I would play Dorgu over him at LW.
If you ask me, we should reintegrate Rashford, sell Zirkzee, have Rash, Dorgu and Cunha on the left, with Rashford also an option up front, and then buy Lewis Hall. That sorts the left side.
It even puts you in a stronger position for a Rashford sale, as you have a plan to use him.
We should be looking at Hall, not Summerville, and if West Ham really wants 80m for Fernandes, he has to move on. That's crazy. Try Scott, and there have been whispers about Tchouameni being available.

There is no way back for Rashford. His bridges are burnt. Ambling around the pitch, making no effort, it's hard to come back from that. And, of course, he wants to leave.

The whole team was ambling round the pitch. He also played 18 months without a left back behind him, and everyone still expected him to run through entire teams down the left alone.
Rashford had some problems, on and off the pitch, but the club also didn't support him on and off the pitch.
There has to be a way back, because at the minute teams won't pay the fee and the wages, plus he helps with home grown for Champions League.

Mate, I was always his biggest fan, but even I gave up on him. He has said nothing to suggest he is interested in staying, or that his attitude needed some work, so he is off.
He stood out as being uninterested. No other player was putting so little effort in.
And I think we will have no trouble selling him, particularly if he does well at the World Cup.

From what I've heard United are approaching transfers very differently under INEOS.
Previously, we would solely focus on one transfer until its conclusion (signed or not), before moving on to start negotiations with other options.
Under INEOS, we supposedly have a list of potential targets for each position, and we are negotiating simultaneously with their agents to make sure that we know what needs to be done to get that signing across the line if we want to pull the trigger.
This effectively gets deals lined up for multiple targets, meaning we can quickly pivot between them if we need/want to change our priorities.
We saw this last summer with deals agreed with the agents of both Semenyo and Mbeumo, meaning when the Semenyo deal became too difficult/expensive to deal with Bournemouth, we quickly moved to Mbeumo and signed him instead.
We did the same with Delap and Sesko, but that deal took a little longer to get over the line, as RB Leipzig were harder to negotiate with and we didn't have a third choice option to quickly pivot to, so had to work that deal through.
We have supposedly done the same this year with midfield, with the club effectively having deals lined up for players like Anderson, Ederson and Baleba. They were also exploring potential deals with Tchouameni (only recently it became clear that he could leave Real Madrid). Fernandes and Scott are other ones that the club became more interested in as the season wore on, and they were showing that they were kicking on.
We want to sign a minimum of 2 midfielders, and Ederson is seen as potentially the easiest deal to get over the line, and would be fairly cheap given the context of the current market, which might mean he is the first deal we get across the line. Also, signing him early puts us in a stronger negotiating position for players like Anderson, Baleba, and Tchouameni, who will all be expensive and harder to get over the line.

I have to laugh. We are now seriously rating Dorgu as a left winger cos he is better there than he is at LB, and we want to win a league. Come on, guys, I know the red tints are thick, but seriously suggesting Dorgu at left wing is going to compete in the Champions League or be part of winning the league is as deluded as thinking we win the league with Martinez at CB.
..... Yes, Dorgu did ok at left wing when he played there, but is he the level we have now sunk to....

JSU, no you're right, if a player isn't the best player in the world by 21 then they aren't good enough and should probably retire out of shame ?♂️
Dorgu has played a grand total of 3 games for us as a LW (against City, Arsenal and Brighton), in those 3 games he has 3 goals and an assist.
That's a pretty exceptional record for anyone playing in their best (and usual) position, at any level. Let alone for a guy playing out of position in the toughest league in the world.
I think if you're writing him off already then you aren't a true supporter, not really. I mean how are you supporting the club? Writing off a 21 year old after 3 games in a new position.
I genuinely believe we have some of the worst "supporters" in the world.

Where am I writing him off as a player!!! If you read, I say it's laughable that we are now regarding him as a great left winger, because he is better there than he is at LB.
If only he was as good as Sancho, hey, with his speed and intricate passing, that would knit the whole team together, along with Onana, who will now be able to play out from the back with all the great stats he had in Italy...
So yeah, 3 goals and an assist is fantastic, and I am sure he will tear up the Champions League next season too.

I remember something similar with a "bang average left back" that lost every game he started for Spurs.
I also recall that the same lad did ok for himself when he was pushed up to left wing.
His 5 Champions League medals probably justify his switch.
If Dorgu ends up half the player Gareth Bale was, then he'd be considered worth the gamble.

The market generally has stalled. It tends to go like this, especially in a World Cup year. There will be a lot of work going on behind the scenes, and announcements could just come.
I would not be worried. We will get players in and need to judge the window fully once it is complete.

Eds, we know Man United are looking to add another midfielder, do you know anything about their plans apart from that? LW or LB? Backup ST maybe?
{Ed001's Note - I believe Tielemans was brought in to allow a bit more freedom for Cunha & Mbeumo to provide cover for Sesko as he can play behind the forward. I believe that is instead of a ST or LW as LB is the main priority. With the prices as they are the club has had to rethink its signings. Once LB is addressed I expect they will look again for other positions with opportunistic signings like Tielemans. }

His price would also be very high.

If you want to buy a Ferrari, you got to pay up. You cannot say I want a Ferrari but will pay only for a Toyota. Yes, we had a decent window last time, but did we not pay the sum that the sellers demanded?

I understand UA. But Anderson didn't want to come to United nor did Fernandes. He would not commit to United.
As you say, we paid more than we wanted to pay in the summer for players because they chose us and committed to us. It appears to be a prerequisite, and I agree with it.
If players commit, it makes negotiations easier and more in our favour.
Mbeumo did it, Cunha did it, and Sesko did it.
Once we have that, we will have paid the price.
If players won't commit, then move on.
We need players that want to come here, and that's the acid test for any new recruits.
Fernandes and his agent looked for the best terms wherever they could get them. So the club was not important to them; the money was. Perhaps he didn't want to corner West Ham, who knows, but he didn't choose United.
We will pay the fees for the right player, but he has to commit and show desire to come to United before he ever pulls the jersey on.

From the day Woodward took over until yesterday, we have never backed out of a deal over price or wages. We've had a free run at players, and overpaid on the fee and wages, which accumulates to the absolute mess we're trying to fix today.
It was never going to be easy to change the football world's perspective that United are idiots in the transfer market. But not folding to West Ham's and Fernandes's demands is a step in the right direction.
I am not knocking Spurs one bit here, as they've had to respond to two relegation battles in a row, but if reports are to be believed, they've just made Fernandes their top earner.
Now they're backed into a corner when signing any new players, and if their current squad has a good season, they're entitled to ask for similar wages.
We've been here many times, setting a precedent like this. 18-year-old Shaw was immediately in the top bracket of earners at the club.
Jose (Chelsea manager at the time) said that they might as well fold the club up if they paid a teenager that much.
We had Sanchez, who broke our wage structure, and caused a ripple effect we're still trying to fix.
Sancho was given ludicrous wages, and only as of today is he off our books. Varane and Casemiro were supposedly shocked when United offered what they did. Martial and Rashford are on huge wages, along with De Gea. All of these players left, or will leave, for free, all because United offered them wages so obscene no other club would come close to them.
Long story short, I'm actually quite pleased that we are acting like a proper club for once. Fernandes coming in on a higher salary than Mbeumo, Cunha, and Sesko wouldn't be great for the squad dynamics. Back-to-back relegations aside, he looks like a solid player, but there are plenty more fish in the sea.
