I believe this is a post on that X Twitter place and worth sharing.
We really need to consider the situation very carefully. Surely Burnley would be beating a path to Carrick's door, yet are supposedly looking at Gerrard and Bellamy.

“The Downfall of Carrick’s Middlesbrough team collapse moments;

• Inconsistency across a long season
• Defensive fragility
• Tactically not adaptable

• Inconsistency across a long season;
Middlesbrough could look good for a couple of games then go on a long stretches of poor performances and dropping points.

• Defensive fragility;
Defensive structure and transitions has recurring concerns, especially when games become chaotic and fast paced. Carrick team tends to: leaves spaces between midfield and defense, vulnerability in defensive transitions and inability to close games cleanly.

• Tactically not adaptable;
When opponents disrupt rhythm, press aggressively, or sit compact, (like Leeds and Newcastle) Carrick looked lost and has no plan B to change the game. ”.

Yep, big red flag against Carrick that Burnley don't want him. In future, we should cross reference every managerial appointment and player signing with JJ Watt to see if he approves of it.

Nothing about the fact that Boro sold a lot of their best players?

Selling Spence, Tavernier, Akpom, Archer, Ramsay and not subsequently replacing them might have played a part in his so-called downfall.

Red man, we get it, you don't want him, and I'm not saying he is 'The Man', but he has earned the right for his name to be discussed.

He has done a remarkable job since coming in, and sits at the top of the form chart.

Who do you see as better and more available, by the way? Who do you want?

People are losing their minds, yes, consider Carrick, but seriously he has had 13 games where we haven't seen a step change in performance. Will people please wake up. Too many are showing an emotional response.

Angel
A long list in front of Carrick. The club needs to conduct a non-emotional process reviewing skill set.

I cannot believe people post there is no one else, only Carrick, yet cannot see how ridiculous that comment is. There are plenty of far more experienced managers with vision. Fed up with keep posting lists tbh.

Red Man, you're the one who keeps banging on about this over and over again. The club are clearly conducting a non-emotional process because they'd have made his position permanent by now based on results and position in the table.

9 out of 13, and the most points in the Premier League since his appointment, is hard to ignore, yet they have not made any moves. You're winding yourself up and blaming others. ?

Red Man, can you give me the long list please?

Ports, couldn't agree more with all of that.

He's doing it to himself.

Angel,
RTFP

Ports,
Wow, did well as a temp, wow, 9 wins, let's rush to put him in full time.

Red Man, RTFP ? They're not rushing despite results. I'm not sure you even know what you're getting wound up about now. ?

Jeez Red Man, this is becoming an obsession for you. I find Carrick underwhelming, but who is on your long list?

I am also keen to understand who is in this long list of available and suitably experienced managers with vision.

Then, we can genuinely debate the merits of each.

I have no preference at this moment in time until we know who is realistically available.

It may well be that Carrick is genuinely the best available from the pool and who wants to be at United.

The same people who want Carrick, wanted Ole. Says it all, really.

Who said they want Carrick in this thread, Sepp?

Carrick has done a great job getting the club back on track, but to put this simply, if Carrick had no ties to utd, and the decision makers are looking for the next Manchester United manager, would Carrick be on the list? I'm pretty sure the answer would be no.

If whoever that person was came in with the club struggling, and won 9 out of 13, and got us comfortably into the CL places with 4 games to go, then yes, they would 100% be considered.

Carrick of West Ham heritage with no United ties would not get the job.

I keep seeing the word 'considered'. Yep. Consider the temp: anyone who has managed teams will have done that, but for the biggest job in world football, people are losing their heads because of emotion.

Given names before, so read what I wrote. Iraola was one on the list. Would also say Brighton's manager is worth looking at, too.

But those who want the emotional ride with Carrick will only dismiss anyone else, or set a ridiculous level, e.g., only Enrique above Carrick. Or say no one is interested. What? The biggest job in world football, not interested? There will be a queue.

My only hope is that the ownership is less emotionally driven than the fan base.

One thing's for sure, RM. We will trust the footballing guys in the positions over some mad rants on here.

The ones who gave ETH an extension, then sacked him 2 months later... those footballing guys?

Still waiting for this long list, Red Man. I'm not sold on Carrick, but I don't see a long list of great candidates either.
