Did you see Avram Glazer's comments? Sporting success isn't required to maintain "their" commercial power.

I'll double down on my view from last that we need Manchester United to be relegated in order to financially cripple this Glazer Corporation.

I would rather watch Manchester United in the Championship than continue on this path.

I disagree. Relegation might hurt the club commercially in the short term, but it won't necessarily financially cripple the Glazers. In fact, I think you're giving them far too much credit for being emotionally invested in the club's sporting success.

They've already demonstrated that their priority is extracting commercial and financial value, not winning trophies. Relegation wouldn't suddenly change that mindset. They could cut costs, sell players, restructure the club and continue to protect their own interests.

Who do you think suffers most? The supporters, the staff, the players, the local community and the club's long-term future.

I'm not sure destroying Manchester United in the hope it hurts the Glazers is the best result. We need to get the Glazers out so Manchester United can be rebuilt properly whilst being in the top league and still having some pull.

Why should the supporters sacrifice the club they've loved all their lives to punish owners who have already shown how little they care about its sporting fortunes?

United were relegated only to become the first club to do the treble. It may have taken some time, but it's in the club's DNA to overcome tragedy and adversity. That includes the Glazer's.

I agree with the OP. If that's what it takes it is a very small price to pay. Hey - let's have the Manchester derby on the Championship next season.

Surely these comments of mindset of the glazers go against fit and proper. l mean their lack of awareness is off the scale. How they'vemanage not to have a serious kicking by now is unbelievable. Frightening who owns United and it was allowed to happen by most probably corrupt government officials.

Lunacy to say want them relegated, it would hurt supporters more than Glazers and non guarantee would even come straight back up
Besides we will finish mid table whatever or if nothing even changes

Be careful what you wish for.

There would be no money for they to extract after relegation. They have no reason to own the club and couldn't pay the debts. They would have to sell.

The supporters have been suffering. And will suffer until they are gone.

Nothing short of getting rid of them will be enough. Otherwise its just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic.

Ive been accused of being on glazers pay roll??
This is what I've been saying all along. The glazers own United to make money primarily they are not chasing trophies. Commercial success comes before on field success.
Nobody has to like it but that's the way it is. They have not done anything against the law. They are business men not football fans. The club will be here and will flourish again long after they are gone or maybe while they are here who knows.
But no point at all in moaning they won't clear debt or invest their money.

Only a minute percentage of business owners of a company this size puts a penny of their own personal money in. Most start ups raise funds from outside their own pocket for heavens sake.
They have their agenda it doesn't match ours but that's business.
It awful is unfair on the fans because it could have been very different.
Im happy to support the team win or lose. I've had a lot more losing seasons than winning ones over the last 60 years.
Things will change in time, how long is anyone's guess but until it does crying about it won't help.

The clubs value will never cripple the Glazers. If they sold the club for £1 that would all be profit. They literally haven't put a penny of their own money into the club and have taken out dividends every year for the best part of two decades.

Hell they could probably pay some 100m to take the club off their hands and still be net positive over their ownership.

One of the concerns over the Glazers ownership initially was they had a track record as asset strippers.

If we get relegated, they'll sell off the players to balance the books, and could sell off Old Trafford, Carrington, and all the land the club has recently acquired for the best part of 1bn, pocket all the money, and then sell the club to someone else for 500-800m even as a Championship club without a stadium.

We'd be rid of them, but homeless, and with nothing but a name and a history, and with no way of getting back to where we want to be.

Relegation might get rid of the Glazers, but it would also likely be the end of us for another 20 years, unless we hike up our skirt for some sugar daddy. If we're lucky.

Oh yes, let's 'do a Leeds' and totally screw ourselves into a spiral of bankruptcy. Anybody who believes relegation will be good for the club is insane.
BRD, a very different landscape back then.
