Chelsea in for him too. Either they ain’t getting enjoy and he’s their alternative or they want both.

But now Chelsea want to sign him to go with there other 25 midfielders that they are trying to sign in this window.

I guess you got to hope the player will look at where he'll get most game time having not featured much for Bayern and it's harder to see that at Chelsea than United but obvioulsy there will be other factors. Hopefully ETH is the main factor behind all this. If not, we have Tom Huddlestone who's been playing U23's for us!

"Marcel Sabitzer doesn't get in the Bayern Munich team. I know they've got a two cemented in midfield but if he was that good he'd be pushing.

Again it goes back to panic. There was no interest in him on January 1"

I hope this kid Sabitzer comes in and makes that clown Paul Mersen eat his words. I cannot stand him, how is he even still employed by Sky Sports.

Souness on Casameiro . "He was playing with great players, he’s not a great player. He’s never been a great player. I see him as a steady Eddie who will help Manchester United be more solid in midfield.

“I don’t think he’s got any great range in passing. I don’t think he’s going to make other people play. The Real Madrid team, midfield especially, is full of footballing types. He’s 30-years-old, and at £70 million, that’s too much money.

“I don’t see him making then any better when they have the ball. ”

Carragher about Martinez . He looks a little too short to play centre-back in the Premier League. We saw when United struggled badly against Brentford – a game where Martínez was subbed at half-time – how difficult it is for him if sides hit long balls into the penalty area to a striker relishing such service like Ivan Toney.

These people are clowns, i bet Merson had never even heard of Sabitzer before today and now he's passing judgement on him.

He is scared Sim. Last year Man Utd wouldn't have managed to get it done but now United are growing and these people are noticing.

He does realise eriksen only got injured on Saturday. We all know we need midfielders but it was less of an issue until now. Can’t really plan for a season ending injury. Total muppet is Merson.

Sabitzer news moving quickly.
If we sign him then it feels like the leaks from the club has changed as well as no one saw this coming. Whilst we have only just had the bad news on Erikson it feels like the club were working on this deal behind the scenes. if this is true I feel even happier about the club.

Would absolutely love Sabitzer.
Just can’t help but feel we’ve left it too late. Fingers crossed.

I like that ETH is not telling the press what they want to hear. His press conferences are great and most people seemed to think what he said meant we were not going to be doing anything.

I think the leaks is a great point although I imagine in this case, because of Eriksen’s injury this had to move quick and had no time for leaks. But I certainly agree in general the leaks etc seemed to have cleared up. Hopefully this remains.

Grim - would be excellent.
Good technically (not Eriksen level but a hell of a lot better than McFred) but an absolute pressing machine.
Think ‘Fred with an increased ability to pass and score’ and you won’t be far off.
Just hope we have a permanent option.

We were linked with sabitzer in summer. Good player and right profile for what we are doing. Loan only but who knows if he does well we might look to sign him permanently. Think him and Casemiro will be very good and means Fred can continue his current role.

I remember watching him a few times at RBL and him looking good. Haven't seen a lot of him at Bayern, not sure he starts a lot.

However it's January, Erickson is injured, he isn't McTominey or Fred, he available on a loan, I can't see much bad about this deal at all, especially at such short notice from when Erickson went down at the weekend.

We weren't going to buy big, he looks like he could do a job and is better than what we have already as back up CM in the Chuckle brothers.

Merson's job is to say something that gets a reaction. United are still Box Office so slagging off a United transfer is the way to make hay. You are not going to get anything insightful or brilliant from Merson but you might get a twatter post that gers a lot of likes because it's what they wamt to hear.

{Ed014's Note - good job you weren’t listening to that twat Agbonlahor on talk sport this morning!
