I'm a bit gutted that Jessie as gone. Top player when on form I would find a place in the 18 man squad for him everyday of the week. He's 1 of us, a red through and through. Will always remember the cup final goal and the moonwalk at the Emirates. Hope he gets he's career back on track, can't help feel that Ole as pushed him out.

Ole has pushed him out for good.
No disrespect but he played for an year without scoring or assisting, which is poor for an attacking player playing for United.

Good luck to him though as he always put effort on the field.

For me he's a confidence player, no good playing 1 game then missing 4 or 5. Arm round he's shoulder and show him you belive in him and he will be flying. Moyes is putting a decent team together at West Ham.

I don't think anybody fussiness Jesse either as a person or as a squad player.
He always tried and worked hard had a purple patch of form around the wc. Scored a couple of important goals in his time.
I don't know the ins and outs no more than anybody but on the face of it like so often it seems a messy and unpleasant end as with rojo romeo Jones pereira and a few before them. It doesn't look good on the club imo.

He had a great spell when he scored some important goals and got into the England team. Somewhere though it went a bit wrong and his form dropped badly. I don’t see him coming back,

Didn't like him at all as a player. I thought he was a coward on the pitch. Very rarely showing for the ball but that may have been his lack of intelligence. Scored a few important goals but should never have been near a team with aspirations of getting to the top. He held us back in my opinion, no goals or assists in 18 months for CAM is criminal. The less said about his off field antics the better.

He's good enough to play in the premier league, West Ham might be a perfect fit for him. Wish him all the best.

I guess we all see different things from different players, but I definitely don't agree with the hiding criticism. For he he was a player who ran his arse off and in all honesty I think you're hard pressed to find an attacking mid in world football who can press as well as him. I actually thought his runs were intelligent and freed up space for other people. I hope he goes on to be a success. Doesn't deserve the abuse he gets.

Slunky. An intelligent player who makes runs to free up space for other players is the equivalent of a kid dressed as a tree in a school play so the other kids can shine.

Bruno runs around just as much and offers so much more. Every footballer should work hard, it's the minimum expected at the top. It should certainly not be a footballers main attribute.

If Lingard wasn't born under the shadow of Old Trafford he would have been gone years ago. Mediocre footballer.

There's no coincidence that our fortunes changed for the better when Bruno arrived. Because it finally we meant had a proper player playing there.

have to agree with mumbles. he was going throuhg a bad patch but his main goal was to try and get his brand bigger than beckhams. should of been football first.

Mumbles. I'm not sure what your analogy is actually trying to prove, but of course I agree Bruno offers far more overall. Also you're trying to reduce my other points with weak analogies and misrepresentation. I'm not saying he "just works hard". I'm saying his runs and his pressing are actually an attribute that he does better at than a lot of players in his position. I mean look at Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. A lot of those players might not make it in other teams, but the way they press and the players that they have to fit in that system shows the importance of hard work. They are actually special-ists in pressing. Firmino's pressing and physicality was majorly beneficial to Liverpool during their best spells. Likewise Henderson's physicality and work rate are hugely beneficial + many other players. Also you trying to reduce the importance of making good runs is quite frankly laughable. It's how you break down defences, and lack of runs is part of the reason why some strikers at our club struggling at the moment. If you'd played the game you'd understand that teams built with players that work hard and make good runs can rip any team apart. But saying Lingard was a coward on the pitch is grossly inaccurate. I mean even his goal against Leicester was as a direct consequence of his pressing and hard work aha. But yeah I hope that helps you understand my criticism of your original post. Just remember that it's ok to accept that you're wrong. And when you try and respond to this, don't misrepresent my points, nor bring up arguments that I didn't make in the first place. I never mentioned Bruno, you did. All the best darling x.

Slunky,

For god sake don’t say people are abusing him, you can’t use that word on here.

{Ed047's Note - or play the victim 😢

Slunky, you said you would be hard pressed to find another attacking mid in the world who can press as well as him. I named Bruno because Bruno can and does press just as good as JlingzTM, but he's actually also decent at the other aspects of playing football.

We've been struggling for years. Lingard couldn't cement a place within Man utd teams that have been poor. These legendary runs the man made and he still couldn't score or assist a goal in 18 months?

You can talk about other teams tactics all you want. I'm aware of how Liverpool and City set themselves up, I watch them win league titles the last few years. And Lingard "the best pressing attacking midfielder in the world" wouldn't get into their 25 man squad.

Iv been wrong countless times posting on this site for over a decade. I'm wrong everyday of my life. But if I was wrong about Jesse Lingard, why is he leaving to join West Ham?

He's an average footballer.

Ole put a massive amount of trust in him, he played him for far too long to try to play him back into some form. But with no assists and no goals his best trait is running out of the way to make space for others.

His time at utd ended, can't see him coming back.

I can't believe there is so much debate over Jessie Lingard. An attacking midfielder who can't create, can't score and the best thing that can be said about him is he runs around a bit?

What is there even to talk about?

I was just pointing out that I disagree with Mumbles that he's a coward on the pitch and an unintelligent player. I never ever said he was better than Bruno, or that he would get in our team, or City's team etc. I just find it unusual that the things that you initially criticised him for are the only things I actually think are good about his game, hence I expressed my opinion. I wholeheartedly agree on your other criticisms of him, I just thought what you were picking on him for was an unfair analysis. Also what's this thing about not saying "abuse"? And Ed047, I don't know if you're implying that I'm playing the victim, but if you are, I'd urge you to re-read mumbles first post, my reply, and then his take on my points. let me know what you think's wrong. Cheers guys.

{Ed047's Note - Slunky not referring to you at all fella 😁👍🏼
