Just want to thank Ed002 and all the other Ed's for another window full of information and updates. I know you get asked repeated questions over and over by fans desperate to get blow by blow updates. We really do appreciate the time spent and knowledge shared each window.

Hope you get a well earned rest before the first post asking for lists for January start showing up!

{Ed002's Note - Thanks. We appreciate it.}

Rumours of Auba to Utd. No idea if this is now just crazy time due to lack of content. But I have to say, that would be an excellent signing for us. Last year with Arsenal, so they may be tempted to cash in. Almost has the feels of an RVP but he's not quite so deep into his career.

He would be an upgrade on Martial as a 9. Scores goals for fun. What do you all think, would you take him?

1.) 22 Mar 2020 10:38:16
Rumours started last summer when Andy Goldstein from talksport said he was told Utd were in for him so maybe there is something in it who knows. Good player though wish he wasnt as old as he is.

2.) 22 Mar 2020 10:54:42
I think we're done buying older players on high wages. He's a fantastic player but you'd imagine he'd demand Sanchez type salary. Just doesn't seem to go along with Solskjaer's plan.

3.) 22 Mar 2020 12:02:02
I'd prefer lacazette to be honest. Although he's seemed a bit off this season.

4.) 23 Mar 2020 11:10:01
I would rather save the money and buy ighalo and spend the big money on right wing, cm, pogba replacement and pacey centre back.

5.) 23 Mar 2020 12:03:35
Thanks for replies guys. I think that Auba allows us to play how we have been playing, direct and very dangerous on the break, but hs also makes runs in the 6 yard area like a striker. He can score headers with more consistency. Depending on fee he could be interesting. Not for silly money either in transfer or wages.

6.) 26 Mar 2020 16:05:39
who is Auba?

Sign Spense for leftback!

1.) 19 Jul 2026 07:45:04
World Cup fever, unfortunately. He was dodgy and really, really poor last year for Spurs.

Good win at this stage of the season. Brentford play some good football, and I'm sure if we had a half decent center midfielder we would have added a player in there to help clog up their play.

They scored a worldy, but you can't argue they deserved at least one goal given their chances. Lammens was superb. Casemiro superb. My god, how do we replace him?

DodgyBanter

1.) 28 Apr 2026 09:07:12
Good win, as in it's 3 vital points. However, there's no escaping the fact that, at times, we were very poor, and could just as easily have lost that match. We need a very good summer window!

2.) 28 Apr 2026 09:19:15
I thought Mainoo had a really good game as well. His tackling was first class last night.

3.) 28 Apr 2026 09:35:25
Agreed, DB.
We just keep getting results, thankfully. Big game v Liverpool next week.

4.) 28 Apr 2026 12:13:29
Big game in what way? We will finish in the top 5 now. Even if we didn't get another point, the job is done. It's against Liverpool, and we always want to beat them, but realistically both teams are finishing 3rd - 5th, so there will be as little pressure on a United v Liverpool game as there ever could be.

5.) 28 Apr 2026 15:33:18
It's a big game in energy, easy, gds2. It's Manchester United v Liverpool. There is no bigger game, imo. Huge game no matter what the circumstance is in the table.

6.) 28 Apr 2026 15:47:58
It's the most viewed match in the world from time to time, GDS. Some years even more than the Champions League final. It's a huge match.

7.) 28 Apr 2026 17:36:39
GDS, surely you are pulling our chain, right? It's the dippers, you can't be serious. ?

8.) 28 Apr 2026 17:44:23
Aww c'mon, GDS2. It's Liverpool.

Had a mare there, fella. ?

9.) 28 Apr 2026 18:20:25
Sorry GDS, not a big game at all. Only against Liverpool. ?

10 Apr 2026 13:26:02
Win against Leeds, and we should be good for UCL. Drop points and we may get a bit nervy in the run in. We've had and eternity to wait for this game, so I hope we show up and do the business with a convincing win on Monday night.

We have not played well in our Monday games this season, so they need to focus and get their heads in gear for a Leeds team getting dragging into trouble at the bottom.

1.) 11 Apr 2026 09:34:31
Oh, what happy days if we can have any part in sending Leeds down into the Championship. A state of deep joy will ensue.

2.) 12 Apr 2026 11:25:21
Fizz

I don't have the extreme animosity to Leeds of others, don't hate anyone, although the present PM is pushing it. In terms of Leeds, maybe when young in the early 70s, watching Clarke, Mick Jones with arm in a sling in the Cup Final, meant I didn't hate them. Don't get me wrong, my late brother was at the two semi-final battles in 1970; he told me how nasty it was on and off the pitch. Plus, if you ever go to Leeds and speak to Leeds fans, they hate us with an absolute passion, serious hate.

Still, maybe I think big cities with one club deserve a Premier League team more than a Burnley, even Bournemouth types.
Personally, it's Liverpool and City I don't like for different reasons.
We have to win tomorrow. If it sends Leeds down, fine.
Actually, I think it would be funnier to see Spurs go down. Don't hate them or anyone, but it would be spectacular to see the fallout.

Media are loving it. They already have the man utd fan base eating out of their hands and salivating at sacking another manager. More clicks and money for them. More years of turmoil for us.

Nobody has any patience anymore. Nobody has any trust in the club to make the changes needed. If you never allow the club to fix the problems, then the problems will never be fixed.

We have to see a project through.
BuT wHat iF it's noT wORkiNG.
Then we keep going and stay the course. We have to give some people proper backing and patience to get us back to the top. They will not always choose the path you would choose!

1.) 27 Aug 2025 19:12:23
24% win rate though DB. I think he's doing a lot of the heavy lifting. He best pray we get through Grimsby with ease tonight.

2.) 27 Aug 2025 22:36:43
Dodgy, I don’t need the media to tell me that Amorim is out of his depth. He has underestimated the PL and the size of the job on his hands.

I feel for him in a way but he has done himself no favours in his stubbornness to stick to one tactic.

He has been by far the worst of the managers in the last 10 years in my opinion.
The way he sat in the dug out tonight during the penalties was a bit pathetic too.

Rumors are, Je Suis, that over 28 is against new club policy for new signings. Until we sign someone for the first team (not a back up goal keeper, for example), then I think this rumour will continue.

Walkouts, mass boycotts, and boycotting sponsors is the only way it will change. Never going to happen. But that would work. The club's reputation would have to be damaged so they stop enjoying the financial trappings of their ownership. We would survive and rebuild. Unless a large buyer comes in and offers them silly money, they will just bleed us for their ill-gotten gain.

Leveraged buyout for a football club should have been blocked. But it wasn't. The fit and proper owner test should have been triggered, but it wasn't.

If owners want to show they mean business, they should clear the debt. Put a plan together, 5 years, 10 years, and get rid of the millstone around our necks.

Baleba was trash last season, and Scott had a breakout year? Maybe. I have to say I'm not certain about Scott to go with our other midfielders, but my biggest concern right now is sheer numbers and availability (Mount) versus playing someone out of position (Bruno) or from youth (not ready). So, any decent cm with a modicum of experience and I'm happy at this stage.

I like the two key players signed (others I believe are youth / future players / fringe squad at best).

We need a good leftback and another midfielder (don't trust Mount's fitness and would like a more physically dominant CM to round out the squad).

Would love a rightback who can attack and defend, but not expecting movement on that this year.

We need a second specialist striker, but doubt they will sign one when we have Fernandes, Cunha, Mbeumo, Amad, Mount, Dorgu, Lacy and now Rashford to fit into the team.

But imagine Sesko gets a long-term injury, we are too close to no striker for comfort. Can others fill in? Yes. But they should only be in that position when injuries mount up, not when your only player needs a rest or has an injury.

The club uses the likes of Mitten and Whitwell to put out rumours that benefit them. Been going on for years. Let's face it, we were never in for Anderson, Semenyo, Kane, and on and on. But it serves the club's purpose to put it out that these guys are their top targets when they know they are not going to put together the financial package to convince their club to sell or the player to join. Just want to make it look like we are in the conversation for a perceived top level player.

Someone recently posted the list of players we have signed and got nothing for when they left. Worse, we have to continue to pay wages or pay them to leave.

Rumours of the Madrid boys don't come from nowhere. We are just letting it be known we favor getting one of them to any other third midfielder. It is a safe rumour; we can always say they didn't want to come, Madrid wanted too much, the player's wages too high. We are signing players for mid-table money, on mid-table wages.

Two signings look pretty good. We are asking the scouts and Carrick to perform alchemy. Let's hope it can work. Stability in UCL and challenging for league and cups as the next step. Can we stay there, or will bigger spending teams overtake us? Time will tell.
