Could all be fake news again (we have been here before) but there are strong rumours that the sale could be hours away and the Glazers are ready to sign off on it.
Rio was also hinting yesterday that today was a key date.
Lets hope this is true and we can finally move forward without the Glazers assuming it is the Qatari bid.

This has come from Al Raya a newspaper in Doha, not sure how reliable anyone knows this paper is. As you say been here before so will believe it when I see see it, after all it’s Independence Day in America whether that would have any affect on any announcement I don’t know.

I think people are jumping to conclusions because I think if a business is sold on the New York stock exchange, it has to close and as it’s Independence Day it’s closed today…. I have no idea if this is true just what I’ve read/ heard.

Rio has shown himself to be very unreliable on the sale process. Not sure why he is burning any rep he has on something he quite clearly has zero inside track on. He is announcing "deal done" every few days, presume hid is going for the stopped clock approach to being right.

I doubt we'll be getting the public announcement on July 4th, and tomorrow I'm starting a trip to Idaho for ten days, so they'll have to wait until I'm back.
