Good article shappy.
I agree with bits and disagree on others.
It's a positive outlook and I'm all for that going into a a new season with so many unknowns.
It's going to be a difficult season but I hope the face the challenges in the right way and I think in time we will see improvement.

Good post shappy

I think Henderson might have burned bridges coming out with his chat this morning. What an idiot.

Cheers guys.

Yeah Angel it does seem like Henderson is pouring petrol over his bridges.

I can understand his frustration, two years on the United bench after several years playing as first choice while on various loans. His two years at Sheffield United were particularly impressive and got him on the cusp of the England team.

Yet, he knew he was coming back to challenge DDG, arguably one of the best keepers of the past 10 years in the EPL. I like that he backed himself to win that battle. I even think that he maybe deserved to play more than he did given DDG poor form during that time.

However, the professional thing is to keep that frustration in and not trash your employer publicly. A more intelligent person might have said something like
"I've found the past couple of season's frustrating as I believe I am good enough to play for Manchester United. However, I'm glad I'm here at a great club like Nottingham Forest and I look forward to proving my worth with them".

I'm not even sure what his intentions were when he said his actual comments. The person who apparently lied to him and said he'd be first choice is no longer at the club.

I've also heard several rumours about him and from last season, apparently he was leaking things to the press including line ups. While his attitude could need adjusting to say the least.

Hopefully he does well on loan and we get some big offers next summer and he can go on and play elsewhere. If we need a new keeper next summer like is suspect then there are plenty of good options out there.

There were rumours last year that he was one of the leaks, and this almost proves to me that he was.

Shappy are you joking.
I wish him no luck and can't wait till he is sold.
I'd put him in same box as pogba and ole. Redundant.

{Ed001's Note - isn't that the point Shappy is making though? That he does well on loan so you can make sure you get a good price? Not that he cares about the player doing well as such, but simply wants to get as much for the club as possible.}

Excellent summary there Shappy, thanks very much for doing that. It’s difficult to argue against anything there.

I agree with others regarding the required positivity going into ETH’s first season. It’s easy being cynical and I am guilty of that with all the expectations of this transfer window. But it’s going to take a few transfer windows until the squad has reached ETH’s satisfaction. Until then we continue supporting our team, being positive and I believe we have the right head coach!

Ken, as Ed001 says I don't wish him luck for him, but so that someone will part with a large fee for his next summer. While it's probably best not to get too bogged down the the clubs finances, its common sense that the more money the club can bring in from sales the better that is for the club.

Shappy, thanks for a very good post. While the window is open, there's hope. If we don't strengthen, then we'll hopefully play better football but 6th will be the best we'll achieve. We have several weaknesses in the first team. Midfield has not been strengthened. Eriksen is a good player but he'll not fill the void we have at CM or DM.
Also, I think we need to offload Ronaldo as soon as possible as he's acting bigger than the club. He should've been our leader, but he's acting like a selfish brat.
If the window brings a good midfielder, a good RB, and a striker, then we might challenge for 4th spot. So here's hoping.

From the reports Henderson comes across as a real moron. The fact he refused to meet the manager and train is ridiculous. Who do these people think they are? Some jumped up 25 year old telling his boss to go do one and critising his employer in the press.

What an idiot because if true, Henderson has zero chance of ever playing again for Manchester Utd whereas if he had behaved like a professional he had the chance to play regularly on loan and perhaps persuade the manager that he should be Utd's number 1. Plus how many other clubs has he put off with his behaviour and no doubt Southgate has noted it in a world cup year.

{Ed014's Note - he no doubt didn’t want to play for United so imagine he couldn’t care less what anyone thinks.

As for moving elsewhere his performances will make that happen and what he said will have no bearing on that, he shows he’s a class keeper then he’ll get a move to a bigger club. Personally doubt he’s all that but we’ll find out soon enough now.

He was maybe just sick of the circus.

Pogba has been a cock pretty much the whole time he was at United, came out with crap and put in appalling performances and that didn’t stop another club signing him. ?‍♂️

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance, Henderson can’t even see the line he’s so far past it.

I listened to Hemderson this morning, it smacked to me of a player who was too big for his boots and who was entitled. Whether or not he was promised the job by Ole is irrelevant, he got C.V., DDG was performing it's up to him to take it back not think it's a god given right.

Then I read ETH comments on players leaving early and I agree with him completely. Friendly or not, if your team are playing you stay with them to the end.

Under Fergie with players like Robbo and Keane et al we had this attitude and players speaking out like that would have been dealt with by the players and ultimately the manager.

I just don't think we have a healthy dressing room right now. I do we think we at least have a manager who is going to tackle it.

And yes for me Hendo has played his last game for us.

Shappy

A lot of sense in there, as you know I have been banging the drum about particularly Garnacho and also Megbri. Sometimes there is a surprise, maybe Zidane will give one. I think the requirement for a forward needs defining, it shouldn’t be another winger. We need goals, so it needs to be a central striker, that gives the likes of Garnacho a chance wide. Personally I would even say two central strikers, one experienced and one young serious potential. I really don’t have time for Martial; Ronaldo needs to go. A lot to still be done for me.
