Tonali to Spurs deal agreed. £100m apparently. Spurs are really going for it.

Summerville next apparently.

They're building an entire 11.
Must be some sales to come, I guess, but none are worth buying.

Vuskovic for £50m, I imagine one of Vdv or Romero or possibly both will go. Richarlison will defo go, Bergvall, Bissouma, potentially Sarr & Madison. Danso/Dragusin + Vicario. There'll be a massive exodus on top of their many incomings.

They may come back in for Rashford too, and any forward will do well ahead of that midfield. When they begin to gel. Very good manager, too.

If it's true that Anderson, Tonali, and Fernandes were all on our list, it's a little concerning that we've sat back and given other clubs a free run at them. Sure, we can move onto other targets, but what happens when those deals run into difficulties as well?
This is starting to feel like one of those seasons where we overpay massively for our fifth or sixth choice midfielder.
Let's hope we have something planned and that the noise we're hearing is just a smokescreen.

Can't believe Spurs spending so much. If they all materialise, that is… Not sure De Zerbi falls into the realms of very good manager, though, as mentioned above, he is OK and may stretch to good, but he has not exactly pulled up any trees, and is very good at upsetting people.
I am not a Carrick fan, but would rather him at United than De Zerbi, that's for sure.
Hopefully we get our targets, whoever they may be, but with penny-pinching Sjr at the helm, maybe wishful thinking……..

On Spurs, I am really impressed with their window so far. They got out early with a couple of quality free agents in Robertson and Senesi. Dubraka will provide back up and maybe allow them to sell one of Vicario or Kinsky. They have overhauled the midfield with both Tonali and Fernandes. Prices are ridiculous for both, but for where Spurs are, and that they addressed other areas with frees, I can see the logic.
I am sure that we have a list of options for midfield, and prices that we are willing to pay.
Until we see who comes in, it is hard to judge the impact of missing out on 3 of our options. I feel like we will be okay, whether we end up getting a big shiny name like Tchouameni or a slightly lesser name. I think the recruitment team have shown recently they know what they are doing, so keep the faith.
We have shouted so long at inflated prices and wages, we now need to hold our nerve whilst we do things differently.

Spurs have had two very poor seasons in the EPL. They need to go out and spend big, which they have done. I agree that they have bought well. They still need a CF, and will have to sell a couple of players too.
A strong Spurs team will be good for the EPL.

Our targets were Ederson, Anderson and Fernandes. We missed out on two. Bournemouth will increase the price for Scott & we will back off. Tchouameni probably won't leave Real. Now gotta look further down the list.

You can see it coming, a deadline day move for our 8th choice midfielder at twice the price quoted 4 weeks earlier.

Fallguy, yep. Something ridiculous like £40m from Sander Berge on deadline day.
