Did we actually make 5 substitutions yesterday? Have I missed something as I thought only 4 were made and another player could still have come on for Williams.

You can make up to 5 substitutions but they must come in a maximum of three intervals. Because Pogba came off at 63 minutes, Shaw at 75 minutes and then a double sub of Bruno and Greenwood at 84 minutes we used 3 different intervals and couldn't make a further 5th sub.

Shaw was brought off injured then Williams can't plan for 2 injuries requiring immediate subs for the same position how's it bad management? It was bad luck.

Because in the past you would normally hold off on a sub for an injury or anything else unforeseen, keeper/ player sent off etc.

Shaw was brought off injured it's an enforced change. Plus pogba was poor and so was greenwood and bruno? He took off all the correct players in my opinion. Bashing the manager for this god its unbelievable how people will look to criticise the manager with anything these days. To lose both left backs in the same game the chances of that happening is extremely unlikely. We were super unlucky there.

There needs to be a rule to let substitution happen if someone like brandon is injured and unable to play.

Anything to bash the manager. The more they say Ole out, the longer he stays. Maybe you'll should try the opposite and say nothing. Maybe that might hasten his exit.

Poor match management haha he made the final subs are about 88 minutes, absolute joker Ole he shouldn’t have made any subs just in case Williams banged his head.

In live chat I said I wouldn’t criticise Ole’s substitutions, don’t think they were too bad. Might have taken Bruno off instead of Pogba and either gone 3 in central midfield or pushed Pogba up and made the subs 10 mins earlier because we were flagging. But not a major criticism. However he did get the tactics wrong at the start as per my other posts. It was obvious to me pre game what Southampton would do but our manager had them passing across a deep back line, trying to give Pogba the ball centrally with back to goal. Utter naive management and there is no getting away from that.

Are you having a laugh . As a team we play out from the back, we back ourselves to beat a press .
Like most teams these days.
Infact our goal come from this .
Pogba made a mistake, it happens you don't completely change your tactics for one mistake.
You don't change what you havd worked on for weeks because of one mistake.

Ole makes the decisions on subs no one else, so is accountable for them, however there was no major criticism from me, he couldn’t have known Williams would get that injury. Thought he might have made changes earlier maybe slightly different to what I thought but that was not cause for criticism. However my thoughts are that his starting tactics were naive remains in place.

Ddg has taken the 4th most long goal kicks this season of any keeper in the epl.
We play out less from the back than most sides actually.
I was surprised by that i thought we played out from the back as much as most but apparently not.
Shaw and awb have less touches in the final 3rd than the full backs in 14 of 20 clubs. That stat is skwed slightly by game times. But they are not in the top 10 for sure.
I think there are perceptions out there of how we play but they are not upheld by the facts.
Whatever the stats it been working well enough since the restart.
I hope Mondays performance was a blip only time will tell.

Ken, you and your pesky facts.

Prior to pogba being caught out for the goal in that game, there were at least 2 other occasions that maguire was very close to being caught out playing out from the back. De Gea is extremely uncomfortable playing that way hence the reason why we don't usually play like that. We were clearly instructed to play that way, it doesn't suit the players we have.

Only 2 players in the epl have made more passes than maguire this season, on 5 players have had more touches . that's not defenders but players .
Stats mean nothing with out context tho.
