Please let this new Sheikh bid be acceptable to the greedy glazers.

Paid nothing. Failed for 18 years. Get 5.5bn. Sounds like a good deal to me! I hope they take it, but probably get Ratcliff offering 2bn for 10% of the club so that he can "win" and we can all lose. Sigh.

They want to have their cake and eat it so I wouldn’t hold your breath.

We can only hope they accept the Sheikh bid. The leeches don’t care about timing or if it affects transfers, they just want every last penny. Cynically I wonder if the rumours of a preferred bidder were just to extract more money from Qatar.

The Glazers are playing off the bidders against each other. Expect them to push INEOS to up their bid in return.

Considering Joel and Avram pretend to care about United, they seem to do everything possible to screw us over until the bitter end.

The Glazers have seen Jassim and Sheikh'd him down for every last penny.

I think the rumored 5.5m plus the commitment to pay off the 0.5bn debt the glazers gifted us values the club at 6bn. Don't think they will see it that way though. They forgot they parked their loan right there on our books didn't they!

There must be some rules from the ny stock exchange for the minority interest at some point. The offer is a significant offer and all shareholders should be considered. I assume joel and avram can't just pick a deal to only suit them as the minority interest would also presumably be keen on a return that is vastly above current market price.

Hope its true and they take the deal and never again come near the club. they should be announcing something soon here as this cannot continue and becoming farcical.

Problem is they will see the extra money the sheikh has pledged and wonder why he isn’t giving it to them. You know that’s exactly what they are thinking.

So when all parties were asked to give their final bids a few weeks ago I assumed that was it, take it or leave it whichever one you prefer. But they can make further bids?

Spenno, this is all a big pantomime act to extract every last penny they can. Do you think the Glazers will leave potential profit on the table because of some arbitrary deadline Raine have made.

Until that ink is on a contract I'm sure the Galzers would entertain improved offers.

The Glazers are very astute businessmen/ woman. They will be more than happy to play off JR and the Qataris. Their back up plan will be a minority stake sale. It is a win win for them.

My understanding was never that the third round of bids or any round thus far were final bids. Merely that Raine group may decide to recommend a bidder as a preferred bidder who then would move to negotiate with the Glazers.

If Sir Jim Rat is really a ManU supporter he would walk away and leave the Glazers without any really viable option but dance to Jassim's music - assuming the 4 siblings are adamant about cashing out.
