Lots of rumours around that Pogba wants £600,000 pw to stay!
I say he is taking the p*ss at his current salary. If that is the price we should not even try to keep him.
How much will he want next year!?

1.) 29 Sep 2019 13:58:32
He's pricing himself out of a new deal in order to force his way out of the club.
He wins either way, he either gets the move he wants or he gets paid more than three times what he's worth.

2.) 29 Sep 2019 14:54:13
Pogba wants out? What?

Surely we have to try and keep a player who doesn't want to be here.

At least it doesn't reflect in his performances 🙄🙄.

3.) 29 Sep 2019 15:34:11
The guy wants to leave, he wanted to leave two summers ago and he wanted to leave this summer just gone.

If the club are foolish enough to get into contract talks with him and his representatives then they are well within their right to pull the clubs pants down with exorbitant requests.

Let him see out this season as he's our only midfield player who can pass a football and then replace him next summer with other professional footballers who can pass a football.

4.) 29 Sep 2019 18:57:57
Who cares what he's paid. What matters most to me is that if he does stay then he should perform.

I would just get rid of him at the earliest possible time and get a really hard working/ super talented player like SMS or Niguez to replace him.

5.) 30 Sep 2019 00:51:00
Although I kind of agree. what makes you think SMS or Saul would want to come to United in this current state?
We used to be the number one choice for players coming to the PL. at this moment in time I’m not even sure we’re even in the top 5.

6.) 30 Sep 2019 05:37:11
Yeah replace Pogba with Saul Niguez.
It would immediately step up the quality of midfield.

If we can convince a player about a good project, they will probably join. However, we may have to offer higher wages to beat competition.

7.) 30 Sep 2019 11:58:40
I'd happily give Pogba a 600k a week contact.

100k basic with 500k performance related. Instantly solves his issues with consistency.

8.) 30 Sep 2019 13:23:35
Lol shappy that'd work! The way money has gone and the guarantees that players have before even setting foot on a pitch, restructuring deals like that would solve a lot of on field issues.

9.) 30 Sep 2019 13:49:38
Saul Niguez going to leave Atletico for Man Utd? is this some April fools prank or something.

Their lies a big problem with Man Utd fans, the delusion is really real.

10.) 30 Sep 2019 15:58:45
£5000 a week and you can have my 15 year old son. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 2 games. He plays ACM and has an eye for goal and trys his hardest every game.

11.) 01 Oct 2019 23:00:58
Pogba is a really good player and if he had half decent midfielders and attackers with him we would get more out of him. I don't think his attitude is anything like it should be but I can imagine his mindset. Why am I wasting the best years of my professional life with a team whose players are just not good enough to be challenging for trophies when I could be with a really top top team. If we had better players and were competing every year to win the league and champions league do you really think he would want out? I don't.

12.) 02 Oct 2019 13:11:07
Pogba knew the clubs situation when he joined, the playing squad isn't dramatically different to the one he joined.

He might have wanted to move to Real Madrid or Barcelona but neither club valued him at the price being quoted.

So he had a choice, he could either stay at Juventus (a team that was winning Serie A every season and challenging in the UCL) or he could move to us, a team that hadn't challenged for the league in a few years and had even failed to qualify for the UCL twice out of the previous 4 seasons.

He chose to join us, no doubt because his agent sold him the move and the huge hike in wages.

He chose money over glory, now he saying he wants to move again to win titles. Yet I suspect he would have second thoughts if moving to Real Madrid, Barcelona or back to Juventus meant a significant drop in wages.

He wants to make as much money as he can, and fair play to him. But if that is his main motivation then he won't ever fulfil the potential he has.

Ronaldo earns huge wages, but he isn't driven by earning money. He wants to be the best and he wants to be remembered as one of the greatest of all time. He has maximised his talent. We need players who have the mentality that they want to be the best they can be, not earn the most they can.

13.) 02 Oct 2019 19:45:30
Shappy I agree with you about Pogba not maximising his potential but maybe he was promised that Utd would invest in top players and that's just not happened. It's odds on he will go to a Madrid or Juve sooner rather than later and he will get wages equal to or better than he is getting at Utd.

14.) 07 Oct 2019 14:09:52
Whether United invest in top players or not, if he was a top player with a good attitude he'd still put in a performance every week and show some leadership to the players around him , and maybe also tell his brother to shut up .

14 Aug 2019 13:23:39
Seen a few reports that Rojo's agent is at the training ground trying to arrange some sort of deal.
Also that Ole is possibly going to relegate Sanchez to the Reserves. Also reports that Ole really wants him gone from any influence on younger players even it means him going out on loan (Roma still interested) with us paying part of wages. Not ideal, but personally I think the time has come.
This may may well be a load of mushroom compost, but I thought I.

1.) 14 Aug 2019 14:33:11
Hopefully this is true. We need to get them gone.

2.) 14 Aug 2019 15:21:55
Are the reports of Sanchez and Greenwood falling out true?

3.) 14 Aug 2019 15:45:27
Rumours that Sanchez got into a fight with Greenwood at training, that clearly is not going to help him at all. I really want him out of the club, caused a lot of troubles and didn't give anything in return to the club.

4.) 14 Aug 2019 16:02:26
I saw reports that Sanchez got angry with Greenwood because he challenged him in training. If so, that's not the attitude you want to help breed confidence in the youth.

5.) 14 Aug 2019 17:06:03
I hope it is true as it sends a message through the squad. The rumour is we are offering to pay some of his wages but still nobody wants him, even on loan.

We also need DDG to sign a contract to follow up Marrial and Rashford doing so.

6.) 14 Aug 2019 17:34:29
I want him as far away from the club as possible, he is done and dusted, has offered nothing so far, how the heck did the club get into this situation idk, some people here don't think Ole has what it takes to make it but if he gets rid of Rojo, Sanchez and have us playing very entertaining footy, he may well be the one who takes us back to challening, early days but i do like how he is setting the team to play and our average age, that's very important most of these players will flourish in 2,3 years.

7.) 14 Aug 2019 21:32:20
Sanchez has the ability to be great, maybe just give him the number 10 role, I think he could pick the holes we need against clubs.

8.) 14 Aug 2019 22:39:06
Report from the sun so it's most likely not true at all.

02 Aug 2019 21:17:11
Di Marzio apparently now (last hour) that Dybala deal now agreed apart from image rights and payment plan.
Toes, fingers and eyes crossed!

1.) 02 Aug 2019 21:33:01
"And eyes crossed", made me laugh mate. Maybe it's the beers? Agreed though, Dybala behind Rash or Tony would work very well.

2.) 03 Aug 2019 06:19:10
I haven't felt this since optimistic since 2004 when we signed Rooney, Heinze, Smudge and Pique.
Damn you Manchester United, you have made me get excited about transfers again.

{Ed0333's Note - who have you signed to get all giddy about Grim?

3.) 03 Aug 2019 06:23:31
If we sign Bruno, we can play 4-3-3 with Dybala on the right, buy even if Ole still use 4-2-3-1 Dybala can again play on the right, cutting inside and free AWB.

4.) 03 Aug 2019 06:49:52
No Grim. I was also excited when we signed Herrera Shaw di Maria blind Rojo Falcao in 2014 window. 😁.

5.) 03 Aug 2019 07:17:00
I wish use would all stop being so gullible were not getting Bruno fernandes or Paulo dybala
OLE said he hopes to have 1 or 2 new faces those new faces are Maguire and Mandcuikic and that's it.

6.) 03 Aug 2019 09:06:22
So we've tracked fernandes all summer which has been confirmed by eds were in talks for dybala as reported everywhere but you chose to believe that were getting Mandzukic which has just been reported in the last day which would presumably only happen should lukaku leave. Negative much?

7.) 03 Aug 2019 09:26:51
Scottronaldo73, of course Ole would say that he expects 1-2, he won't say "yeah we are working on exactly 5 new ones". Never take manager's word for granted. I think Bruno was a target, Dybala and Mandzukic were late and unexpected opportunities.

8.) 03 Aug 2019 09:34:06
Exactly manduikic hasn't been mentioned at all now all of a sudden sky are putting forward the charm offensive of " we've always liked him" and would be" a great option " someone from United has leaked this so that when we don't get dybala he's our fall back option if I'm wrong I'll be the first to come on and say I was wrong
The tweet use are all excited about fernandes was from 5 days ago from Nicolo schira a lots happened since then.
I've been a supporter long enough to know when I'm getting the wool, pulled over my eyes.

9.) 03 Aug 2019 09:44:44

You’re funny pal, every post is the same negative rubbish, why not offer a little balance? We’ve signed 3 players so far, all improve positions we need, the other 3 players we are linked with also improve the first 11, hopefully we can get one of them over the line. You’ll be one of them complaining the Glazers don’t spend your money when we spend £200m this summer as well.

10.) 03 Aug 2019 09:47:43
Scottronaldo, you and Jaime should go on a date, you’re made for each other.

11.) 03 Aug 2019 10:17:16
GDS Your right about the 3 signings we have made they improve our first 11 definitely and hopefully the youngsters take their chances when they come to them because I think they could be a special crop I really do. BUT every year we get a player mentioned all summer like a Schneider, gaitan, perisic, and it never happens I think fernandes is this years.
I'm willing to eat a huge slice of humble pie if I'm wrong and no matter what happens or who comes I will still be getting behind the team come 11 August through thick and thin. We deserve a board that's as loyal and dedicated as our fans deserve .
AJH I'm happily married man lol.

12.) 03 Aug 2019 10:32:40
Yeah, I saw the "we've always wanted him" about Mandzukic, but I think they meant that we were looking at him for a couple of years, not just this summer. I think it's normal. And we need to have a heavy striker like him if Lukaku leaves. Enjoy the end of the window as we'll have James, AWB, Maguire, Dybala, Fernandes and Mandzukic
:D Cheers GGMU!

13.) 03 Aug 2019 10:56:21
I don't get this Madzukic talk, he's 33 and only managed 10 goals per season playing for an incredibly dominant Juventus team. Seems like a complete waste of money and I don't see it happening at all.

14.) 03 Aug 2019 11:29:07
Scott, we do get linked with players every year and some seem to slip through our grasp. What we don’t really know is which ones are high priority, how much we want a certain player, or how far apart we are in valuation. I do share the frustration that it seems to take us forever. Perhaps it’s balancing the ins and outs or perhaps were just crap at it.

15.) 03 Aug 2019 11:32:39
Scott, we get linked to everyone by everyone. That's the way it's been since time. You're then upset because we don't sign them?

16.) 03 Aug 2019 18:18:29
Starting to doubt di Marzio, he seems to be covering all bases with his comments.

17.) 03 Aug 2019 18:21:01
Mandzukic is underrated. He fits a high pressing system well. He's not prolific but he offers other attributes. Also he brings experience which we lack but his age won't block Marcus or Mason.

30 Jan 2019 09:33:11
What's news?
We know which players need moving on.
Youngsters make mistakes.
No team wins every match.
Sometimes decisions go against us.
Stuff happens. Let's get over it.
Team still playing united way, sees games out and fights back from difficult circumstances with style.
Back behind Ole for the next game, the future is bright. We are once again seen as the real MU. Others are getting worried. Great to see.

1.) 30 Jan 2019 10:56:29
Good post DW.

03 Jan 2019 14:49:04
League wise we are still underdogs. But we are now playing (not withstanding the well known weak points in our squad) with real united style. Chelsea and Arsenal now looking nervously over their shoulders - it's a good feeling. Get at least a point from spurs and the rest of the season holds really good possibilities. Chalk and cheese compared with only a couple of weeks ago.
However thing pan out we owe OGS a real debt of gratitude and proving that whatever the reasons, our squad is far better quality than Jose allowed them to be.

1.) 03 Jan 2019 17:15:18
We are definitely underdogs for the league, Liverpool have quite the head start on us.

{Ed025's Note - absolute non-hopers rather than underdogs i would say DB, that ship has well sailed im afraid mate..

2.) 03 Jan 2019 23:55:54
Meant underdogs for top 4 not the title!

3.) 04 Jan 2019 02:48:11
16 points?
We’ve run down similar leads before :)
Though not with this squad.

Was saying before I pressed wrong button. We see to only be able to concentrate on one transfer at a time for it to fail late in the window and the board seem to fold there arms with "we tried our best" attitude.

1.) 17 Aug 2020 08:45:55
we always do this, faf around for weeks when we have known who the targets are for months.

17 Aug 2020 08:03:13
Firstly let me say I like Ole and he has done a great job of clearance (still needs to stay and complete that) and there seems to be better dressing room atmosphere and interplayer cohesion. Also we just scraped CL qualification.
I still feel that his in game management is embarrassing to the point of non existence. Too little much too late, though I admit our second string really is second string to the point of second rate. Even our best 11 is a bit second rate in places. Whether this is due to innate lack of quality or poor coaching / tactics is debatable and has already been done to death.

Now the rub. Just think about a few of our recent performances including Sevilla and Copenhagen and I have to ask who really thinks we are going to go anywhere meaningful in the CL even with our first 11.
Without major signings (I don't necessarily mean marquee expense) we are not going anywhere. Anyone think we really stand a chance against the likes of Bayern - not next year for sure.
The likes of Liverpool seem to find value in the market.
Ole needs another season to complete the clearout. Whether we get signings is a moot point as we seem to chase high profile shirt sell.

1.) 17 Aug 2020 08:48:41
mate if we scored our chances in both games we win them by 4 or 5 goals easy.

the thing with us in we are poor at thew back in terms of concentration and awareness of runners, we can't defend crosses or set pieces and we always concede when we have a lapse.

other than the two goals they scored we was comfortable.

2.) 17 Aug 2020 09:08:29
So, we good Bolger? We just need to score and we will be able to compete with Bayern, Liverpool and others?

3.) 18 Aug 2020 06:33:27
The whole point of the beautiful game is to put the ball in the net if a team can't do that it crap. Never win anything ever.

26 Jul 2020 21:36:27
Haven't posted for quite a while. 3rd? Yes I am pleased, for the team, fans and Ole. But if we do not invest this summer in key areas not only to satisfy Woodward's vanity but class players who really are team members we will be disappointed going forwards.

Reality is that we are, on this year's showing, 34 points shy of where we all want to be.
For now I choose to believe that the glass is more than half full.

02 Oct 2019 07:50:43
Folks are talking yet again about the need to change club structure.

HOUSTON? We have a problem!

Changes to the structure (if any) will be made by those who are integral parts of the hit that needs changing.
I reckon that means we are stuffed.

1.) 02 Oct 2019 10:39:45
Nothing will change within the club until we stop making money off the pitch

Woodward gets slagged off a lot on here for what he doesn't do but the guy knows how to bring in the bacon

It's a shame really how far we have fallen In such a shirt space of time.

We never recruited and replaced the likes of Rio Vidic evra Giggs Carrick even ronaldo.

We haven't just had poor recruitment in the last 7 years It goes beyond that.

We just had a team that gave there all and a manager that was the best.

Come Christmas we will be back to square one and most likely on the 6th person (including giggs) to take over since fergie left.

2.) 02 Oct 2019 11:21:12
Bolger, failure to qualify for the CL again this season results in a significant reduction in the money we get from our deal with Adidas. I can see this being the reason Ole is pushed, and we’ll be back to where we were last January talking up a big rebuild.

Since the Glazers’ leveraged buyout, the club has spent close to a billion dollars on financing: interest on the debt, repayments, and dividends. We still have the second highest debt in the league, and Spurs at least have a brand new stadium to show for their borrowing.

This wasn’t a rapid decline. It was a steady erosion directly tied to the leveraged buyout. Fergie papered over the cracks for a while, but now we are seeing the true costs.

3.) 02 Oct 2019 19:21:35
Bolger, are you serious about Woodward? United are a world famous brand, and thousands of huge corporations are clamouring to put pen to paper to sign endorsement deals. You don't have to be genius executive or salesman to push deals through. Companies are lining up to be a part of this club.

Woodward has shown complete inadequacy at anything he does, you just need to see the money being paid for average players and the money we give in salaries, to realize what a totally horrific job this idiot is doing.

4.) 02 Oct 2019 19:23:14
Let’s put it into perspective. The Glazers have taken out 1 billion pounds while the Arabs have put 1 billion into City so that’s a difference of 2 billion. Until the Glazers are gone nothing will change.

5.) 03 Oct 2019 06:51:22
City invested and revamped their academy and training facilities.
They built a structure to oversee the development of the club.
Convinced the likes of Aguero, Silva, Yaya Toure to begin their dominance.

They had a clear in place for success and it's bearing fruit now.

On the other hand, the decision makers at our club are making poor decisions constantly.
Not sure how or when this will get sorted.
We need people with expertise in football to run the club.

6.) 03 Oct 2019 09:54:25
Woodwards done nothing. A totally undeserved reputation. Taking credit for other guys work. Its like this myth that the glazers are good businesses people.

7.) 03 Oct 2019 17:24:42
Alright Mort? Not good business people. I wish I was that bad at business.

01 Oct 2019 07:35:40
A couple of days ago I said we would s really struggle if we didn't beat the gunners
After last night the light at the end of the tunnel is not looking too bright.
The pessimistic thoughts of my last post are resurfacing. My optimistic basic nature tells me that basic thrust of what we are trying do is right but -
FACT. We are now nearer the bottom and relegation than the top with a cluster of the "also rans" clustered on our shoulder just itching to bypass us.

I actually think a time in the wilderness might be beneficial, not that I am looking forward to such an experience, but it might dampen down expectation of immediate glory days. Don't expect too much too soon and you will not be too disappointed.
With each new manager I have believed we would need at least three seasons to see any real return to great football (performances and results) . OGS is only a year in!
It is a doubly difficult task these days as the lower clubs (at this moment we are one of them! ) are not at such a financial disadvantage that they need to sell their premiership proven players.

1.) 01 Oct 2019 16:40:28
We are already in the wilderness.
