So Liverpool have signed Mac Allister for £35 million, due to a clause in his contract.
If true that is one hell of deal for a very good player. Surprised we did not follow up our interest at that price, can't see a downside.

You can't knock how Liverpool go about things. They get their deals done quickly and for significantly less then everyone else seems to get quoted.

We obviously were never in for him
Don’t really see a top drawer midfielder to be honest yes definitely better than Fred and McTominay but that’s not hard.

The club seem squarely focused on Mason Mount as the midfield signing to play with Casemiro and Bruno.

Also maybe the lack of Eridivisie experience counted against Mccalister in Ten Hags calculations.

Macalister is a really good player and if Liverpool get one of the other midfielders being talked about I think they will be strong again in that area. Anywhere south of £50m and they got a cracking deal.
He chose them over us. it is what it is we have moved on.

Is it plausible the clause was lower for non UCL clubs?

6.) 07 Jun 2023
07 Jun 2023 17:55:21
Well you can knock it, as Klopp just cheats.

Cheats! Coming from a club that made illegal approaches to Hargreaves, Berbatov, Stam to name a few. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Rudder,

Great examples all from over 10 years ago, Klopp is cheating right now.

{Ed001's Note - what on earth has that got to do with this deal? What an idiotic comment. Bitter much?}

9.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 07:33:35
I think he is good player nothing worldly but very solid and will definitely help them shore up their midfield. The rest who knows.

10.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 09:54:46
If we weren’t in for him at that money then there really is something wrong. At the very least he’d have been an improvement on Fred and Donny.

11.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 10:00:01
He does cheat though Ed001. Relevant or not it's worth reminding everyone.

{Ed001's Note - in a thread about something totally unrelated? Just makes you sound like bitter tools who can't accept missing out on a player you wanted but are trying hard to pretend you didn't. It is embarrassing and childish.}

Looks like a couple of the Prem's top sides are looking to revamp their midfields this summer. Utd, Liverpool both looking for several players whilst Arsenal and Brighton will need to add with the likes of Xhaka and Macca/ Caicedo departing BHA. City should be ok unless Gundogan leaves. Bit of a shame to see what has happened to Philips there, he should have been all over the role that Stones has grown into and would probably start in most other teams if he could replicate his Leeds form.
Same handful of names in circulation for all. I'd put Caicedo in the same category as Rice although many have suggested his potential is even higher. Looks like both have likely been assured they can leave if the right bid comes in.

In a thread about Liverpool's transfers, I'd bring it up every time until he stops doing it to be honest. Really drives home the point. I can't comment on the player, I've not watched enough to know if we've 'missed out' on a good on, but I'll take your word for it as you've usually got good judgment on player quality.

Who do you think we should be after this summer? I personally think Rice should be the top priority followed by a goalscorer. If they can stretch the budget they need to replace that keeper too, he's dreadful.

{Ed001's Note - it would be like Liverpool fans bringing up all your success being based on cheating by Fergie, it is not relevant to a signing thread. Even if it would have meant an excuse to remind you all how Fergie also destroyed you by bringing in the Glazers and destroyed your academy by forcing youngsters to be represented by his son until the best players just went elsewhere to avoid it. Or how you were managed by Mourinho, the biggest cheat in the game. Or how Antony spends his time throwing himself to the floor and so on. It is pointless and irrelevant so why mention it? It just ruins a thread about another subject with a topic that should be kept to its own thread.

Maignan should be the goalkeeper.
You defo need a striker but not sure who. None of them stand out as ideal to be honest. Ferguson looks the best bet but is young and unlikely to be allowed to move this summer. The rest are gambles that don't seem to suit the role Ten Hag looks to play him in. Maybe someone like David could be a useful stop gap signing until Ferguson is available?
I agree on Rice in midfield. Though I fear Citeh may snap him up. I hope not. He would make a huge difference in your midfield and provide cover in defence if needed.}

To be honest that's exactly what I'd expect Liverpool fans to do when discussing Man United on a Liverpool forum, if you can't dig at your rivals irrationally in an online community of fellow fans then where can you!

I do like Maignan, was interested before we he moved to Milan but I've not heard of any interest from us this time around.

Striker is exactly as you say, lots of gambles who in all likelihood aren't ready. I fear we are just going to have to swing on one of them because Levy isn't going to give us Kane.

Rice at City or even Arsenal would be hard to see as I think he is such a complete footballer and would be exactly what we want.

{Ed001's Note - I would find it sad and pathetic if they did so. It is the mindset of a spoilt child to make irrational digs on an online forum and a sad indictment of yourself and the world that you think it is normal. This is why I don't waste my time on twitter, it is for saddos who think that is how it should be.}

08 Jun 2023 12:43:45
Would love to see Rice at Utd but I can't agree any midfielder even prime Zico should be ahead of a top no.9. We'd have been a good dozen points better off with better finishing and more threat through the middle IMO.

Unfortunately Ed there’s plenty over there in the lfc site. I saw a few of our posters getting grief for admitting they even read the pages!

{Ed001's Note - it is sad.}

17.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 12:40:32
That's fair enough, it is after all your choice whether or not to engage. I don't take it all that seriously personally, I see daft twitter sports opinions all the time and I just continue living my life when I do.

{Ed001's Note - but then you start them off on here doing the same thing.}

18.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 14:14:14
Yeah ed001, we never fancied him anyway. United are going to sign a much hotter player, but you wouldn’t know him because he goes to a different school.

{Ed001's Note - would that school have been in Holland by any chance?}

19.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 14:56:29
Yes? What I didn't do is engage on the Liverpool page with the opposite opinion (and ignored your 'it would be like' on your earlier comment) because as I said - doesn't bother me.

20.) 08 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 16:18:16
It’s in Lichtenstein, not Holland. You wouldn’t know him. But he’s super hot and will score like 60 goals next season.

21.) 09 Jun 2023
08 Jun 2023 16:23:55
I had no idea about the cheating just Ed002 brings it up all the time on the LFC page so my knowledge of it has solely come from that. Apologies if that seems bitter, it felt relevant to the post on Liverpool signing a player.

22.) 11 Jun 2023

Awk GDS2 Ed2 does bring it up and unfortunately Klopp seems to keep tapping players up

It is frustrating for us fans as it means then we have to pay a lot more, as with VVD, or clubs simply do not want to deal with us. Even more frustrating that he somehow keeps doing it and the club somehow keeps letting him do it

As Ed1 has said, and other posters, bitterness between both sets of fans is not new, sad but not new. Indeed some of your posters, I think Stand and Tony, were met with harsh posts on our site

Tbh, I think I'm right in saying both clubs fans hate each other lol, but we all have friends who are rival reds so we should try and keep it about the football lol and not let our emotions win out

With City now equalling the treble, hell you got to give credit to the side Pep has built, purely from a footie perspective - what will happen with 115 charges looming? Who knows, but both our clubs need to have decent transfer windows this summer as, let's face it, we can't afford to wait and see. City fans don't give a rats a** about the charges so we can't focus on them either - the real delight will be beating a team that has do blatantly cheated lol

Good luck next season lads (he says painstakingly through gritted teeth lol)
