Good game last night fellas there wasn't much between the teams it's just a shame it was decided by a penalty especially not a clear 1, just reading down through your posts and have to say it's hard to swallow as a villa supporter after the peno ye got last year when Bruno stood on konsa, pogba also had his arm in luiz face before any contact and pogba was moaning at shaw just a few mins before for not going down in the box, he was looking for the peno in all fairness, it wasn't a definite peno but it wasn't definitely not 1 either, 50/ 50 I guess but var probably right to go with whatever decision the ref had made, and jack is the most fouled player in the league, like Ronaldo was when he was at united but I guess it's only called diving when it's another team, every ref can't be wrong, if he was constantly diving he would be getting punished, refs would be looking out for it, I see reference to the ghost goal v Sheffield yes it was a mistake but VAR made mistakes every week last year and some of them costing us points so to say we only stayed up cause of technology failure is a bit unfair we were so far behind at the break but we done what we needed to do to stay up we scored more points than anyone in the bottom 6 after the restart and continued it this season so to say we don't deserve to be here is unfair after taking points off most of the top teams this year, both teams had good chances to score more goals last night but sadly we couldn't take another chance de gea had a good game as did Martinez I think I speak for all villa fans when I say we would rather of lost to that Bruno thunderbolt that Martinez tipped over than to a penalty, look forward to the reverse fixture 👍 I said it here before I do think ye will win the league as Liverpool look more like the team that bottled it against the smaller teams for the last 20 odd years, I hope ye enjoyed the trashing we gave them earlier in the year it was the highlight of my time as a football fan, I hate them with a passion 😂😂.

The full stop (Commonwealth English), period (North American English) or full point . is a punctuation mark. It is used for several purposes, most often to mark the end of a declarative sentence (as opposed to a question or exclamation) ; this sentence-terminal use, alone, defines the strictest sense of full stop.

Lol I thought it was a football banter page not a grammar page. Will use more full stops in future. I tend to just use the comma, I’m sure there was no confusion in my sentence. Surprised your not giving Ollie stick for his broken (ish) English. Also I’m neither English or North America.

I'm only messing mate. It was a good post and interesting to read the point of view from a Villa fan. I think you are the first to post on this page. I also look forward to the return fixture. You lot are having a fantastic season so far and it's great to see the league being shaken up a bit.

WhackyVillian,

What do you make of Grealish theatrics? I find him rather petulant.

8.) 03 Jan 2021 01:48:37
Cheers manc, I think we will do u guys some favours this year we done a few already lol. Sup mad hatter, first and foremost he’s obviously a hero to villa, his behaviour off the pitch sure needs some maturing, not sure what u mean by his theatrics? is it on or off the pitch u mean? As a player. sure he wins a lot of fouls and 9 times out of 10 there’s contact, I’m a realist I know he has the strength to stay up or the contact is minimal maybe 30-40% of the time but it’s not often he go’s down without some class of contact, he wins lots of frees but very rare he gets a penalty cause defenders won’t tackle him in the area but outfield they will take his invitation and his craft is that good he will make u foul him, I know it’s probably infuriating for other teams but he dragged us through the league last season and gave us the chance to build on it, so he’s already a villa legend in our book, we don’t get the big decisions we definitely don’t get any help from var so we got to do what needs must to rebuild our club, yeh I’d like him to be a bit more mature off field and stay on his feet a bit more while on it but I think that will change as we get to a point where we have better players around him, our owners are stinking rich, 1 of the richest in the league (3rd I think) so hopefully we are heading in the right direction. most of my mates are Man U supporters so I get lots of stick from them and have done for the past 10-12 years hopefully in the reverse fixture I can give them some in return. how about you guys? Lots of rumours of signing grealish last summer, is he a player you would like to see in red?

9.) 03 Jan 2021 13:56:49
Good post Whacky. Althought he is clearly talented i wouldn't touch Grealish for a lot of reasons. He drink a lot, dives a lot, holds the ball too much and doesn't fit in our team (i think) .
I would like him if he would cost 30-40 millions to become a rotation player who gives us something different because he is really good around the box and can unlock defences, but having Bruno we can't take another player who thrives in a free role, we can't play with two tens. Then putting him as left winger is good against teams sit deep but his lack of explosiveness doesn't make him ideal.
For me (taking into account that Pogba will be sold) we must buy a box to box like Bissouma and a top number 6 and then in top of that and if our coach can fit him the luxury player who is Grealish .

My point was that he’s no worse than Rooney, giggs, Yorke or bosnich, I’m sure there are other with chequered personal lives but I don’t know cause I’m not a united supporter.

Hands off our jack😡😡 don’t see the issue with the off field issues tbh and they haven’t affected his games 1 bit, like none of us broke any lockdown rules or driven under the influence at some point, speeding lol give me a break, mind you I’ve never hit a parked car drunk or sober😂😂 in his defence on that 1 if you watch the video he hits the cars then decides ok this is not going to work and he went no further, and as for topless pics I think between Rooneys antics in the red light district and yorkie and bosnich escapades he’s a bit behind them, don’t get me started about giggsey and his sister inlaw, lots of great players have issues off field. I’d be gutted if he left us he’s part of everything good we do in every game, personally I think if we get Europe he won’t move but if we don’t it’s probably a 50/ 50 depending on the offer. I do think that 1 thing might put him off is looking at DVB since he joined ye he hasn’t got a sniff, win the league and ye might convince him but other than that I think city is his most likely destination.

I watched this game thankful that we weren’t playing united or city, this was a terrible performance by Liverpool imo, close to their full starting 11, backed up by Thiago introduction at half time and followed by firmino and shaquiri midway through the second half, although they controlled the ball for the most part they were far from convincing, got off to a good start scoring after 4 mins but then the teenagers settled and soaked up everything they threw at us and compounded a miserable half for them by catching them on the break by a player not long turned 17. the kids got tired after the hour and we paid the price for not acting quick enough with our subs and they got 3 goals in 5 mins, then we made our changes and got back to blocking everything and getting bodies on the line. they had most of their premier league winning team on the field and managed a measly 4 goals against a team who’s oldest player was 21 and had 2 16 year olds and another who turned 17 just 2 days ago, the saddest part was that most of our best youngsters are training with the first team or sharing digs with players who are now isolating so we couldn’t even field our best U23 team. it’s my honest opinion this Liverpool side will win nothing this season and if I was a united fan I’d be licking my lips and getting a few quid on you’s to beat them next week, tonight’s performance will not give them any confidence and I hope to see ye thump them next week.

Not moaning about anything really Leahy, if you read my post further down the page 👇👇👇 you’ll see my opinion on it was that it was a 50/ 50 call much like the maguire handball at the end, it could of gone either way it wasn’t a definite or a definitely not, it’s fair to say we don’t get the big decisions against the bigger teams, had it being united that day instead of Sheffield I’d bet my house VAR would of intervened, yes jack wins frees but only 1 penalty this season where as united must have about 10 thus far and they ain’t all stonewall peno’s. yes we are lucky to be when we are but we wouldn’t be where we are if we weren’t playing well, as united are lucky that Liverpool and city are not as good as previous years but you make your own luck and if your not getting results it don’t matter what way other teams are playing but ye are getting some good points on the board while Liverpool are dropping them, your far from the united of old but definitely heading in the right direction hence why I also mentioned I think you will win the league this year, I don’t know if your just a sort of arrogant fella or just like an argument but I didn’t come by for an argument I just dropped by to pay a compliment and see what you guys take on it is.

Hey Leahy, fellow Irish man by the sounds of it. sure we all seen that goal but unless it’s in the last game of the season and in the final few mins you can’t honestly say it kept us out of the championship, goals change games and if that was counted we would of changed our in game tactics and went looking harder for a goal to equalise like we did in the 9 games after that we done what was needed, united being I think the only game we didn’t get points from and your first goal in that was a penalty ye got cause Bruno stood on konsa it was pretty dubious call, circumstances dictate how u play a game, we needed a draw in last game that’s what we played for, if ye needed a draw to win the league u wouldn’t risk losing if ye were lvl in the last 10 mins to try win, and what about all matic fouls when he came on.
