We finally look to be in danger of becoming more effective in the transfer market.

KANE
World class forward but Levy unlikely to sell to us. Stick £80m take it or leave it offer and walk away when Levy won't budge. I can see Kane staying at Spurs next season and could come to us next year.

HOJLUND
Young lad who could have a high ceiling and £40m for a youngster who may a Haaland type could be a good investment.

MOUNT
£50m for a player who can offer more than Eriksen, is English (homegrown quota) and only 24 would be a very astute buy. Eriksen a great bench option and squad depth.

KIM MIN JAE
£42m release clause, powerful presence for a CB and good ball player too. Looks a steal. Right age at 26 to slot in and form a good partnership with Martinez which moves Varane to a quality squad depth member.

COSTA
£60m release clause, Portuguese nations keeper at only 23 and in many ways could be the signing we prioritise the most.

Equally as important given FFP its the fact that we look to be actively trying to offload Maguire, Henderson, McTominay, Fred, Bailly, Telles, Williams. Jones and Tuanzebe already gone. Add Martial to that list and our wage bill alone will be reducing a great deal. Obviously De Gea rumoured 50% drop in wages too adds to that.

Is there a danger of us becoming an actual football club?!

Spine of the team GK, CB, CM, CF

Personally I would be trying to buy Ferguson from Brighton rather than Kane but also add a second forward. Priority has to be forwards.

Mount is a good player but I would have thought we need some strength like a Casemiro in CM as well, whether that be Rice or Caecedo or similar is open for thought.

Hate to sound pessimistic, but we’re yet to do any of the above….

c£192m with hopefully around £100m recouped in sales would hopefully leave a little wiggle room for a cheaper deputy DM.

However, I think I'd prefer to favour a slightly pricier DM over a CB. If, say Rice, was available, between him and Shaw I think we've got adequate cover for the 4th CB position, as either of them can always drop in if need be.

Ferguson would be lovely, but I gather his new contract was an indication that he's keen to stay at Brighton for now.

I really like Ferguson, but i don't think he is one for this window. Best thing or him is to continue to play and grow at brighton.

One would should be monitoring and speaking to Brighton now to say we want to come back in a year or two. Could be an ideal replacement if we sign a vet.

“ We finally look to be in danger of becoming more effective in the transfer market. ”

Cut to Aug 31 - Man Utd are proud to announce the signing of Wout Weghorst for £25m. The Glazer family feels this transfer fully justifies their new £7billion asking price as they open the 15th round of bidding.

Listen to me and listen with intent, ten hags first signings as manager with the exception of wout couldntscore i feel have been good. What we spent on said signings is different. Martinez and casemiro are more than justifying what we paid, as is eriksen on a free and malacia has put a rocket up shaws arse.

Antony however is baffling, i don't see an 80mil player there. I want to, and he shows glimpses, more so in one season than sancho has in two. Im all for if its who the manager wants, get him in but antony is beyond frustrating. Does he have a right foot? Is he struggling to adapt? And i don't like his theatrics either.

With how Amad has played this season in a tough rough em up league, id rather see how he does in this squad.

I think we need a cm who can take the pressure off the back four by being able to advance the ball through pace and dribbling skills. FDJ does that really well and I think mount as an 8 does that well. Ericson against top opposition who press struggles and has no pace in general. ETH has been looking for Midfielder with those qualities since last summer.
