Paper talk I know but the script is Fernando Felicevich (Vidal's agent) is trying to facilitate us signing Vidal so Juve can sign Sanchez (also represented by Fernando Felicevich ). While Jorge Mendes is trying to get us to sign Di Maria (who mendes represents) so RM can sign James ( also represented by Mendes).

Does this rubbish really happen? Hope the Vidal story is true.

Grund

1.) Sanchez wants his arsenal move allegedly

2.) I would imagine that this is the tame version of what actually goes on. Add in the 3 representatives who allegedly tried to get us Harera last year and the whole process of transfers is probably so unbelieveable you could not make it up!
However. let's hope the above trail is true though!

3.) Liverpool will offer better terms, I think he will end up at Liverpool. Rumours suggest that we dropped our interest in Sanchez a while ago, there are also contradicting reports suggesting otherwise, but with our interest in Di Maria, that could indicate that we did move on from Sanchez.

4.) I wouldn't put anything past agents. It's not secret that Juventus need to raise funds and want to keep one of Pogba or Vidal. We want Vidal so the link is natural - I just hope it happens. Vidal and Di Maria would be too fantastic world class additions to our team.

5.) I think Robben was our first target. That didn't happen and then we were monitoring Di Maria and Sanchez with Sanchez being the backup if the signals from the Di Maria camp was bad.

Di Maria is an MU fan and I'm sure would join.

6.) Of course this is how it is agents get paid per deal they assist with so say mendes gets 5% of a transfer fee or whatever its in his interest to move on players as often as possible but especially if that would make the selling club replace him with another of there clients!

7.) The james to madrid rumours don't make a lot of sense to me, don't really see him playing in a midfield 3

8.) Jred, couldn't Falcao and James along with Bale and Ronaldo occupy the four attacking positions? Falcao (9), James (10), Bale and Ronaldo wings?

9.) Syd
I can only see them playing 4.3.3 it gets the best out of ronaldo and bale imo .
as for the 10 I still think isco will be a very good player

10.) Jred, I don't think Isco has a long-term future at RM. If he doesn't go this summer, I think he may go next.

RM want Veratti and Kroos for midfield. So could it be more of a 4231? I don't know, but RM definitely want James.

According to the Ed, RM are working on a deal for Falcao and James.

It was widely tipped N'koulou would leave Marseille this summer. Have we shown any interest? great player and only 24 or 25.

One for the ed's please. Ed002 said last week, I think, that Herrera was unlikely. A lot of sources suggesting we have signed him ( 4 year deal) and it may be announced as early as today. Do you know of any new developments or am I getting carried away by paper talk AGAIN lol.

Grund

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Manchester United have submitted an offer for the player.}

1.) It just shows that nobody (including the magnificent Eds) has a clue on what's going on behind the scenes! We'll all just have to wait patiently to see what transfers materialise.

20 Mar 2014 18:36:47
eD 002 I see you are about or were. Is there any interest in Cavani? I'd have thought Costa was more a Moyes player and Moyes has praised him in the past.

Grund

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Cavani from Chelsea and Manchester United but a move to Old Trafford is not going to happen. Cavani is a second choice striker pick for Real Madrid, so if they don't get their first choice the might turn to him. It is not entirely out of the question that Manchester City could turn to Cavani if circumstances force the matter. PSG don't want to sell him and if Ibrahimovic were to leave I suspect he will stay in Paris.

Chelsea, Dortmund and Monaco have a declared interest in Diego Costa. Arsenal are keeping a watching brief but I suspect a deal can be done with Chelsea.}

1.) Thanks.

2.) As good as he is we don't need him with the current strikers we have RvP and Rooney are on his level and Wilson may be even better than all of them in a few seasons if he reaches his potential.

3.) No disrespect Ed..............

{Ed002's Note - When did I say this? I did say that Manchester United had not made an approach to Mata in December when asked, and I did say when Manchester United did make an approach. I also explained that Chelsea would not have any issue selling to Manchester United is an acceptable offer was made and the player wished to leave. Don't bother reading anything I write from now on if all you are going to do is try and take a dig at me for it. I am happy to answer questions but have no time whatsoever for any glifnards like you just looking for reasons to have a dig.

4.) We have much more pressing concerns than strikers. Left-wing, central defence, left-back and central midfield all need strengthening first.

11 Mar 2014 17:15:49
Ed002 if you are about and have time could you tell us which Midfielders we have interest in and your best estimate of how many we would wish to sign.

Grund

{Ed002's Note - Carvalho remains a midfield target although the club would ideally like Vidal. Gundogan, if available, might be seen as too much of a risk. There is interest in Kroos but Bayern Munich would like a new deal and Barcelona are also showing interest.}

1.) Thank you very much.

2.) Right now I don't think any of them are odds on, Carvalho is too much, Gundogan is a risk, Kroos will probably stay and Vidal won't leave Juve I don't think.

I think out of all of them Gundogan is the likely option if we are willing to take the risk.

3.) I think Granit Xhaka is maybe an option he can play a bit and is very good defender Moyes has been known to look at him in the past and was at the game against Bayern, he and Fellaini could protect the back and let are forward line do there work we maybe need a creative midfielder like a Modric but that may come from within like Powell or as my money is on young Pearson to make the step up and be a great little playmaker for us we do need a Scholes type player and ever time I have watched him he has reminded me of him one thing is for sure we are in for a busy summer

Let me preface this by saying I'd much prefer De Gea stayed. Could one of the ed's tell us, with Madrid's upcoming ban, could they buy him now and loan him back to us till the end of the season?

Grund

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 15 Jan 2016 14:42:57
Not going to happen. I would be shocked if united became a short term fix for them to get around their suspension.

2.) 15 Jan 2016 16:00:44
Thanks ED.

3.) 15 Jan 2016 19:14:49
Madrid think they can overturn their ban though.

Tired of posting downbeat about our club so a change. What happened to Phil Jones? At 19 he looked a potential world beater and yes for a big unit he's made of tissue paper, even so if anything he's gone backwards.

Grund

1.) 10 Dec 2015 10:13:17
Haha Grund. Tired of posts being downbeat so for a change you post a negative post about one of our players!

I agree I was expecting so much more, but I was with Smalling as well until recently. Maybe a good run of games will do him just as good, as you say he is made of glass. He is too docile for me, he would run into a brick wall for you, in fact he would rather run through a wall than simply go through the door.

I'd send Jones on loan to somewhere like West Brom.

2.) 10 Dec 2015 10:20:25
Yes Grund that's far more positive .

3.) 10 Dec 2015 10:48:24
A commentator once referred to him as "a rolls royce of a player"

4.) 10 Dec 2015 11:45:45
Probably Owen Harvgreaves!

5.) 10 Dec 2015 12:21:38
Jones has the tools to be a very good cb but if he is never fit then what does it matter just look at owen hargreaves one of the best dm at the time but never fit.

Banter please. Anyone else think all the posts (some of mine included) blame player x is playing badly because of LVG but when it comes to Rooney he's past it. Rooney has lost his pace etc. Usain Bolt is still a little quick and ages with Rooney, just saying.

Grund

1.) 26 Nov 2015 11:04:31
Rooney was poor under SAF, Moyes (after contract) and LVG.

Most of the rest are newbies. Smalling, Young, Valencia have a new lease of life under this manager.

For 20 minutes Rooney looked class last night, I can't help but think the captaincy is compounding the issue. Take that away and we will see a more focussed Rooney, less of these stupid give-aways on the edge of the box and running for the ball rather than trying to direct other people. I still think he is finished at the very top though. He has been playing off his reputation for 4 years at least.

2.) 26 Nov 2015 13:51:31
Beast I think we are just trying to find another excuse for what has become a shadow of the Rooney we used to know. Whether he has the captaincy or not, he just is not the player he once was. If I were him, I would work my ass off to be in the best condition physically, which he is not, and get back to the absolute basics, because at the moment he struggles to even control the ball.

3.) 26 Nov 2015 14:27:13
Angel - I agree mate, I was hoping we would cash in, even before all the goings on with SAF. I could tell he was on the "wayne", it's painful watching him. If I supported another team and watched him I would find it hilarious that he is our captain and guaranteed a start no matter what. As it happens I find it sad and a further indictment on the manager making the wrong decisions again and again.

He isn't going anywhere fast (pun intended), so I think stripping him of the captaincy may at least enable him to focus on his primary role. He isn't intelligent enough to dual manage, especially for a lazy manager like LVG who doesn't want to communicate with his players and relies heavily on his captains to do a key part of his job for him.

No Fresh he came back too soon for the world cup, struggled really badly early season. Got booked a lot cause he was a yard slower than when fit but still giving 100%. Recently he's showing signs of getting back to his best. He is 27 past it REALLY?

Pogba will not be back any time soon. Most of us are hoping against hope for Vidal.

Agree on Depay give him a chance. This Bailly seems a raw talent hope he works out, seems pricey for someone with so little experience, still fingers crossed.

I'm not a stoke fan, my dad is, so we always travel down to Stoke when United play their. Family reunion and commiserate/ celebrate 2 good reasons for a P up. Anyway back to the point Fellaini should have been jailed never mind carded for his 2 blatant attacks on Shawcross the season before he joined us.

I agree entirely Nou99, I argued for Moyes to be given time also argued against us getting LVG, don't seem to win many arguments lol. Season ticket holder and I've only been to 5 matches this year + my obligatory away game with my home town Stoke. Life's too short to waste travelling down from Scotland to watch boring football. I've almost packed in posting I just don't want to continually post bad about my team.

FFS Beast go and preach that to Barca, who still show the world how youth should be nurtured, or even us in he not too distant past. Remember even a squad quality home grown player probably costs £20m.
