So apparently according to Ole, yesterday's second half was progress.

What do we think?

That's not exactly what he said though was it. He said it was a change in mentality compared to Everton, that yes they played crap, but didn't give up, where last season they did.

Anything to slate the manager again.

Just remember Roberto Di Mateo at Chelsea and what he achieved.

Anything is possible.

"and Solskjaer has won it" Oh how I would love to hear those words again.

Imagine that shappy, us in a CL final and lukaku looks like a lost puppy to the extent that Ole says feck it I will win this myself and subs himself on in the 89th minute.

The skies are fairly grey outside.

Why would anyone be excited about Bale. there was a semblance of a plan, young, hungry players, Bale is simply a galactico signing. tbe higher ups have known for months what it would take to get Sancho and have acted, as usual in an amateurish way again and will now panic buy someone who doesn't fit.

Bale will be injured first game he plays and will be out. it's a disgrace tve club acts like this, no ambition apart from bringing in money.

Can I chime in please, as an academic who has published papers.

Not all peer reviewed papers have statistical significance, sometimes papers are accepted if it is a special edition, or shows something new, regardless of number of participants unfortunately. I regularly see papers that have small. sample sizes, less than 20, or small group sizes, only 10.

The way forward with peer reviewed papers is replicability. and it needs to be more than 1 paper, ideally you would look at 20.

The best way would be to look at meta-analysis that aggregate many papers, both significant and non significant.

Effectively you are all correct.

However not all papers are peer reviewed, and it depends on the journal, if it is class 1, or a tier 1 paper, anything other than a tier 1, possibly tier 2, should only be taken into consideration if the study has been replicated a few times.

I did a study on the crowd at Old Trafford in 2009/ 10, based on size of crowd, size of away fans crowd etc for social psychology, but it was only at Old Trafford, so it can't be considered, I would gave needed to do a longitudinal study across a few seasons at all grounds in order to get a proper sample size.

While smaller studies can he informative and lead to larger studies, same size will be an issue and it's very difficult to apply that to a larger population.

Are you quoting Frozen?

I hope so.

I am going mightily embarrassed if you are not and I have just announced to the web that I know the words to the songs in that film.

In my defence I have young daughters.

I think I remember reading a post of ED002 whereby it was stated gate money doesn't produce that much income for the club, your season ticket hasn't increased in price has it, more than inflation.

Ultimately as I have said elsewhere, you have a choice, you can continue to attend, buy the kits, crisps and whatever or you cannot and save yourself how ever much it is you spend, which probably wouldn't pay for a minute of a player's time.

I think you are forgetting how much it costs to pay those that work for the club that aren't involved in the footballing side of things.

Whinge as much you like, but you choose to go. you could easily choose not to.

Sorry GDS, your analogy is a false equivalence.

Season ticket holders pay for their ticket up front. I can choose not to go, but I have already paid for the match. yes I can sell it but that takes time and effort, so effectively I could be stuck with the 18 tickets I have to sell and the onus is on me to find a buyer.

If I subscribe to sky or bt sport, I am in a contract, for a year with penalties if I leave.

I have been a season ticket holder since I was 5 years old, so for almost 50 years I have been going I went with my grandad with my dad, uncles, friends, I am completely invested in the club and that club are now defecating on me and my family form a great height, how am I to blame for the incompetence of the club and why should I blindly follow and keep my mouth shut. following the team is very expensive and I have every right to criticise the absolute shambles we have become. have I not?

So GDS the club are trying to blame the fans for their amateurish behaviour and that's OK with you?

Surely as a fan that spends money on a shirt, other merchandise, pays for MUTV, sky, BT sports etc and in a regular season, spends a fortune going to matches should be quiet and not moan?

I don't get it. without fans the club are nothing, so why should they be scolded if they want to complain and put an opinion forward.

It's as if football is protected from fan ire as in pay up and shut up. fans have the right to complain if they don't beive they get value for money, the same with any entertainment or other social event.

The club are trying to deflect from their own amateurish dealings and refuse to accept responsibility by placing blame anywhere else but on themselves.
