Evening EDD's and fellow posters :) Read today that we have made an official bid of 85M euros for Muller, is there any substance to this or is it just paper/internet bull as usual? is Muller even available?. Cheers

{Ed007's Note - No chance.}

Ed002 if you around I have a question please, Does the option to buy clause with Falcao mean we get first dibbs on signing him at the end of the season? or can other clubs get involved and outbid us? Nice one

Rouge Diablo

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what "dibbs" are - if it is gangster rap for "the opportunity" then yes. It is a case of he will be loaned for a year and then there is an option for MUFC to exercise to buy him for certain terms. If MUFC decide not to buy him, then that will also be covered in the contract and Monaco can seek to sell him elsewhere. Again if the player decides against the move then he will return to Monaco to almost certainly sold on - or perhaps loaned again.}

Afternoon Ed's :) Is there any update on Daley Blind? Wouldn't be a bad addition IMO.

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) :/ cheers Ed.

Evening ED'S, Do you know by any chance if Herrera had offers from any other big clubs prior to signing for us? I suppose what i'm asking is, if he had an outstanding couple of seasons for us for example and became one of the top players in europe is he likely to want a move to the likes of Barca or Real, I know you can't read his mind or predict where he will be in 2/3 years but it would be nice to know that any of these clubs have tried to sign or approach to sign him in the past :) cheers.

RD

Rouge Diablo

{Ed002's Note - No, they had no interest in him - probably due to the price being asked.}

1.) 14 Jul 2014 23:59:29
Are United still interested in Konoplyanka?

{Ed002's Note - IF you mean West Ham United, then yes.}

2.) Thanks ed :)

3.) I thought there was some interest from Barca last summer?

I may be remembering incorrectly, but I thought that was what started the whole fiasco over fabregas last year?

Who the f**K is Anthony Martial?! ;)

Rouge Diablo

{Ed004's Note - Biggest waste of money about according to the media...}

1.) 23 Sep 2015 22:35:34
Ed004/Guys, do you reckon he will score more than Aguero this season? i'm not getting carried away lol just wondered what you think?

{Ed004's Note - I doubt it. He has had a fantastic start but I can't remember the last time a youngster consistently produced on his debut season in the premiership. Hopefully though}

2.) 23 Sep 2015 22:39:08
It's a disgrace, he's the worst player to ever grace the entire British game. One trick pony with no end product. Entire United staff out

3.) 23 Sep 2015 22:47:02
Just a word of warning. One swallow does not a summer make. Look at Kane. 34 goals last season. Would have been a total waste of money for £40m.

I'm reserving judgment until the end of next season.

4.) 23 Sep 2015 22:49:40
Well he has already scored the same amount of goals as Falco last season

5.) 23 Sep 2015 22:53:34
Even though kane hasn't got off to a flyer this season I still fully expect him to be a top player for the future, Martial too.

They both are a cut above the one season wonders that we have witnessed in the premier league in years gone by.

6.) 23 Sep 2015 23:03:22
I think martial has a cool head not letting himself getting carried away with himself, seems down to earth when was the last time anybody seen a teenager like him ,come on he's that down to earth he treats his family to a weatherspoons in the Trafford centre beer and a burger we have all been there ain't we!

7.) 24 Sep 2015 01:02:17
martial looks the real deal.
ive never been a big fan of kane , decent player nothing more imo

{Ed007's Note - And there was people on here wanting Utd to pay £50 million for him - sheer madness! I doubt Kane will ever get above playing at Spurs level, at a higher level he'd only be a bit part player.
I remember Franny Jeffers and look at him now, Everton had to make an announcement last month that he was still alive!}

8.) 24 Sep 2015 08:10:12
Haha as I said i'm by no means getting carried away, i don't think Martial is better than Aguero (at the min lol)but as people have said Martial looks the real deal and would love a very bold and risky bet with my city fan friends :)but knowing my luck as soon as I make that bet Martial will turn into Bebe!!

9.) 24 Sep 2015 09:03:28
I think he has had the most exciting start for us since Ronaldo, it is difficult not to get carried away, when he is on the pitch we look a different team and you expect us to score.

10.) 24 Sep 2015 09:44:33
LVG said it correctly yesterday, he is having great success as UTD'S possession game frustrates and tires opponents, due to his pace and strength he is stretching defences and getting into good positions to score. But you do have to finish them and boy can he finish. All really positive and I hope he can stay fit.

11.) 24 Sep 2015 10:14:31
He looks a real prospect. The cool manner in which he finishes, shows his confidence and composure. But he seems grounded which he will need to progress. He has all the physical attributes such as pace and power, but it is his attitude I am most impressed with and why I feel he has a really good chance at making it at the highest level.

I am really looking forward to watching this kid progress. I think we have unearthed a real diamond. Hopefully he can reach his potential and we can keep hold of him for the best part of his career.

Either way he certainly looks a better deadline day signing from Monaco than our previous attempt. lol.

12.) 24 Sep 2015 11:14:50
What I liked about last nights goal was the way he took it from Depays toe with only one thing in mind. If you watch Depays run, Martial could've easily squared it to him. Instead he buried it himself. Sign of a very good striker.
Without getting too carried, I think he'll do just fine in this league.

Sorry to bring it back up lol but I just wanted to say my piece regarding finishing 4th. Honestly i'm delighted, I wouldn't go as far as to say I celebrated it but i'm certainly made up. Its easy to say 'were Man Utd, we shouldn't be scraping 4th spot' etc but the past dosent really matter, we can only go on the here and now and at this moment in time were miles away from Europe's elite and we ain't going to get back there overnight, it has to be done in achievable steps imo and the first of these steps was getting back into the top 4, which we have done :) were on the right road guys! after a season of ups and downs we got there, and I think we will only get better next season (fingers crossed lol). Cheers for reading :)

What has happened to Ashley Young? lol I won't lie I used to cringe whenever he got the ball, could not wait to see the back of him haha but what a turn around! I mean i'm not saying he's a worldie but he is definitely doing his bit for the team (and doing it well too). Much of this has to be because of LVG and the confidence he has shown in him but hats off to AY he's the one that has to go out there and do it, I hope he can keep it up, he's confident at the min, I even saw him do a post match interview!! haha. Obviously when we have a fully fit defence he may get a lot less games but its good to know we have confident squad players ready to do the job :) If he keeps up this consistency and he's happy to be a squad player i'd say defo keep Young, He's earning his place in the squad at the minute.

Rouge Diablo

1.) He was a good when we bought just never really showed it at united

Looking at todays poll got me thinking about Phil Jones.

IMO he is a very good player with the potential to be a great.But, he just can't seem to stay fit! :(
which brought me to the question which may sound like a no brainer but, is Phil Jones injury prone? To me he is the type of player who puts himself on the line 100% every time he plays, throws his body into every challenge etc and is always going to pick up knocks and strains etc by playing this way but does that make him injury prone? Will he ever get over the injury problems?. i'm on the fence :), Would like to hear your thoughts? Cheers, RD

Rouge Diablo

1.) You have to look at the whole time he's been with us then how long within that time he's been injured (FAR TO MUCH).
IMO he will not get over the injuries simply because he IS injury prone.
Shame really because he has the potential to be a top player but he's unfortunately become a liability.

Going on from what edd 007 was saying about Rooney being held in the same category as George Best in 20 years time got me thinking haha, i'm sure if there were forums like this around in the days of Best then the same types of fan would be having the same debate as the Rooney one :) "Dosent look after himself", "not hitting his full potential" haha :)

Rouge Diablo

{Ed007's Note - That's not what I said at all, I said in years to come all Rooney's off-field issues will be glossed over when people reminisce about the 'good ol' days'. In 20 years time youngsters will only be interested in what Rooney achieved with the club but I don't doubt Rooney will be seen as a Utd great, even a legend, in 10-20 years time.
As you say though, can you imagine the abuse George Best would have got for not turning up for training or games, always in the papers for the wrong reasons, drinking and partying etc. It would be interesting to hear the TRUTHFUL recollections of Utd supporters who were around then, there is no way they would have been happy at him not turning up to train/play and his general flippant attitude towards the club, wasn't there an issue about the way him (and other older players) treated the youngsters coming through as his career was on the decline under O'Farrell?
I'd take a guess that most older supporters that watched him would say they can't remember all the carry-on and stupid decisions he made but they can easily remember some fantastic goals he scored and matches he played in which kind of proves my point.
If you were supporting Utd back then you surely couldn't have been happy turning up on a Saturday to watch the team struggling in the league only to find out Best was in London on a bender or just AWOL - but how many people would be willing to say what they really thought about Best in the early 70's and the years leading to relegation? How many people on here today would be willing to forgive a player behaving like Best without moaning about it on here or on Tawtter etc?}

1.) Sorry Ed misread it :) but yeah I think in 20 years Rooney will be remembered for his many spectacular goals and his role in the great team of 2008 not his wage demands etc. :)

Benzema is absolute class imo, very Cantona'esq (lol) he has that touch of arrogance to his game that I think would go down a treat here at OT. I've got a feeling he could easily become a club legend should we sign him. ;)

Ed025, Would you swap Rooney for Barkley?

Rouge Diablo

{Ed025's Note - i dont know about that RD, if you has asked me pre season i would have said yes, but ross seems to have progressed really well this season and is starting to become the player we all thought he could, hes not the finished article yet though mate and some still think it may be a false dawn, my biggest concern would be that rooney at times looks like he may have fallen out of love with the game... great question though..

Better they get Klopp than Ancelotti IMO.

{Ed025's Note - unless they get the lord himself whoever they get wont be able to make a silk purse out of that sows ear until at least january mate..
