Hi ed, just wondered if you happened to know if there was anything in the palhinha from Sporting rumours? Expect lazy journalism because he is portugese and links to bruno and ronaldo but thought I would ask someone IDK as he seems like he could be a good option if it was true.

{Ed002's Note - Joao Palhinha (DM) PSG would like to take him but the sides are far apart on valuation. Player wants to move to the Premier League and Manchester United want a Matip replacement - Wolves provide a good option but it will depend on commitement from Neves, but something could be done regardless. Spurs might provide a wildcard option as might Seville. There have been no offers during January so expect a move to be more likely in the summer.

Would not be first choice for Manchester United.}

thank you as always for prompt reply!

I know nothing about Palhinha, you tubed him, he's massive! looks very physical but comfortable on the ball. From what I saw, looks like an ideal replacement for Matic and would be well suited for the physical demands of the Premier League.

first time poster (so be gentle) long time reader! Just wondered with all the clamour there seemed to be for a RW! now we have wan-bassaka I can see Young being played there quite regularly and I don't see it as being a HORRIBLE situation. He doesn't often lose possession can beat a player and looks to whip in decent crosses! Thoughts?

He could be, but he has been deployed mostly at fullback now for a number of seasons because he isn't quite effective enough as an attacker.

Dalot with his step overs, pace and crossing ability might be a better solution.

Doesn't often lose possession? Decent crosses? Debatable to say the least.

good point shappy! Either of them playing there for me is not a disaster by any means, and I do think Young gets a rough ride, he gives 100% every time and for his age he still beats players and gets to the byline!

I'll never fault Young's commitment, but his crossing and passing is awful, and he's not as quick as he used to be. I don't like to berate a player who has been as committed to the club as Young has, but I would rather see Greenwood or Dalot played at RW.

Id certainly try dalot on the right. Guys got a decent cross on him. Unlike Ashley Dracula.

6.) 09 Aug 2019 14:13:33
I think that this could be the season that Dalot makes his full breakthrough.

With all the talk about new signings and youngsters I forgot about Dalot (who i rate highly) and think he could operate on the right and could also do a job in midfield/ RB.

I would go with Greenwood or Dalot in front of Wan Bissaka. i'm a little inclined to go with Greenwood, lad has tons of talent and is ready.
