Gotta be honest, I've seen some points of view on here the last few days about greenwood that have me feeling a little uncomfortable tbh, it seems that the big picture is being overlooked for a game .

We have to understand how insignificant this sport is in relation to the actions taken by its members .

Maybe it's just me being a bit overreactive? ?‍♂️.

He's just welcomed his first child with his girlfriend and had charges against him dropped.

He's back around the club training in some capacity.

Whilst I'm totally against what he's allegedly done, it seems the people around him aren't as worried about it as you.

I saw one of those Twitter fan pages post something the other day that started out with “Before his misfortunes, Mason was…” and I felt a little sick in my stomach. Worse still, none of the thousands of comments seemed to pick up on this, as if him being arrested/ suspended was some terrible thing that happened to him and not something that he brought upon himself by *allegedly* sexually assaulting somebody. The world really is a f——d up place.

Are those calling for MG to be kicked out etc blinkering their eyes to the thousands, if not 10's of thousands of supporters who have partook in a little bit of fisty cuffs with the missus?
To be clear, I am, in no way, condoning his actions.
Let's ban everyone who is not a saint, players, managers, fans, kitchen staff etc etc.
I would say people who consume vast amount of alcohol are a detriment to society, let's get rid of those scumbags too.
His missus has dropped any charges, move on.
For context, I grew up amongst a DV environment from both sides, none of you understand what happened in that room. I'll leave it at that.

Patrick, probably because in those situations the person gets forgiven and it keeps happening until something severe enough makes it stop. I'm not naive enough to say otherwise.

But we still don't know what actually happened or really any more than some papers reported and social media jumped on - like any transfer really.

If people around him or the club know more, whichever way, then hopefully, they'll take appropriate actions.

Something similar was said about Antony recently yet I can't recall seeing much on here about that?

None of us know exactly what goes on behind other peoples closed doors.

This is a horrid situation and the club can’t win. But let’s not pretend that there aren’t 100’s, 1000’s of athletes not performing at the top who have done similar, or in some cases a lot worse.

The difference is there is evidence here. The girls Dad seemed to be on the take the whole time too. His statement about MG after it came out was disgusting. Touch my child like that, you won't have the choice to play football again. Was he on bail when he impregnated her too?

In my eyes, it's an abuse victim going back to her abuser. Tale as old as time. How many blokes did you know down the pub back in the day that was handy with their fists to their Mrs. And you'd all say 'she should leave him. ' They never did.

The only reason the case never went anywhere was because the victim refused to cooperate after the initial allegations. After posting what she posted, that's some U-Turn, especially if MG was on bail and not allowed any contact.

If anyone wants to say 'no charges were brought' then please give me your opinion on the recording and the pictures. Is this something you want to sit down with kids and explain to them? What about the kid itself? The kids going to see Daddy was a total arsehole to mummy and all the blow out from it.

I accept, I could be wrong. They could be a model family now. Then in that case, for the good of themselves, they need to leave the UK. They will be hounded. The abuse he will get will go beyond Beckham levels in 1998. He can still make a living in other countries and will be away from the limelight.

Say if he does come back and play. Do you think he's going to get picked by England again anytime soon? Imagine the circus if a manager considered it. The country would be in uproar again.

As a player. He's worth the hassle. As a human, he's not. One outweighs the other. Sell him and move on. Everyone.

You believe you eyes? Sure, I'll go bang my head to the wall, make a video and say "look what Deano is doing in his free time"! I'll even tell my dad to comment on it. Surely, Deano must be guilty then?

I'm not saying this is what happened, but you all seem to jump to conclusion easy enough.

Victim going back to her abuser? Enough with this. Does she not have parents to show her the way? Especially after her dad reacted that way? She also is a kid, who isn't alone in this world and I doubt she would make a decision like that easily.

And if she accepted his money after what he supposedly did to her, what about her moral?

Not to mention that he got arrested in January 2022, and by the July 2023, they are married and have a kid together.

So, she forgave him (if it happened) or decided to be with him for the sake of money or it was blackmail all along. Anyway you look at it, they are now together. If it doesn't bother the law or her, who am I to judge? Who am I to decide on their future? Who am I to speak about what is good for him or her?

Sure, the crowds will pressure him, but in the end it will stop. He will either do good under pressure or he won't and will go to some other league. I can't know if he can cope with it. But I won't be against letting him play, and I am certain most fans won't either. At least that is what polls are showing (at least those that I've seen) .

And you just said what I did, she's gone back as most in the same situation do unfortunately do until it's too late.
But unless anyone here works for GMP and has seen all the evidence or is one of them, how will we ever know exactly what happened?
I'm of the opinion that something did, don't know exactly what and that's why he was arrested and not been around, and rightly suspended by the club until the investigation was over.

As with any large group of people/ fans all view points will be covered and voiced.
The best thing to do is let the club complete there investigation and decide what is right for the club taking on board the fam base, the other players (male and female), sponsors and club reputation.
My personal opinion is I don't want him at the club, the length of the investigation says a lot to me. we should move him on and let him restart his career somewhere else. If he was not such a good player these connersations would not be happening.
However, let the correct people make that call.
