Hi Ed, would United be interested in signing Kingsley Coman in the summer?
Thanks in advance!
{Ed002's Note - Manchester City enquired and were to Kingsley Coman is not for sale.}
02 Aug 2020 10:48:20
I have just read two rumours:
First, that United is interested in Hudson-Odoi - how could he fit to the squad? Is he strictly LW or he can play more positions?
And second, that United is looking to sign another GK (Schmeichel) and that Henderson isn't ready for a first choice GK. Not mentioned what is happening to DDG. I don't see a reason to bring another GK, while we need to focus on strengthening other positions, so this couldn't be true, could it?
1.) 02 Aug 2020 11:00:21
Another click bait rumour doing rounds today is United offering Sanchez, Smalling and cash to Inter in exchange For Milan Skriniar.
2.) 02 Aug 2020 11:02:13
Just a hunch, but I would say there is zero basis for either rumour and the papers are making up stories.
3.) 02 Aug 2020 12:07:44
I was thinking the same. Would like that exchange with Inter tho.
4.) 02 Aug 2020 12:32:23
I wouldn't want Skriniar at all. While he is a better defender than all our current options, he looks slow in the fairly leisurely paced Serie A. I think he'd be murdered every week in the hurly burly end to end EPL.

Hi Ed, is there any truth in United being linked to James Rodriguez?
Further more, could he be a good fit?
Would signing James mean United would not go for Grealish?
Thanks!
{Ed002's Note - James Rodriguez (AM) - a high end Columbian is wanted in Miami with JR the preferred choice but JR will want more time in Europe with Juventus and Manchester United the preference. Juventus were open to replacing Dybala and have lost out on Eriksen and expect their first choice AM player to complete a move elsewhere, so James Rodriguez might well be an option but right now the situation with Dybala has been resolved. Manchester United still want an AM who can cover the left James and offer something different to Bruno Fernandes - and JM will talk with them. The preference is Grealish but JR is a far cheaper option. Wolves have "strong ties" with JM but a move there remains very unlikely.
1.) 27 Jul 2020 12:51:18
Thanks Ed!
Is there any deal that United is close to finish?
{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer "close" questions.}
2.) 27 Jul 2020 12:56:53
I personally hope we get Grealish. He looks to be ready to take a step up whilst James has been at top clubs already and it doesn't seem to have worked out so you'd have to question his desire.
3.) 27 Jul 2020 13:29:09
Close in terms of details being agreed with at least one side (club or the player) :)
Its kinda frustrating that we always prolong the deals we make.
Dark Knight, I would agree about James, but I didn't really look at Grealish, and I certainly wouldn't like United to pay 60-70 mil, just because he is English nationality player.
4.) 27 Jul 2020 16:54:37
I´m from ColOmbia (not ColUmbia), but first of all I´m a MU fan.
Right now I would not like JR with the MU shirt, to me is clear that he has an attitude problem; I believe he would end at Newcastle or Everton and may recover his form, but he is not used to English football, and may struggled as most of other colombian players have struggled in the past.
It would be a major improvement of players like Fred (That I hate) or Pereira but I don’t think it is what MU need.
5.) 27 Jul 2020 16:54:57
I agree its a lot of money but the way i look at it is we get a very good squad player who will be fighting for a first team place so he would have to up his game which could make him into a top player. He'd be a good player to bring in if Rashford, Martial or Greenwood have a dip in form. i'd rather bring him in than Lingard, Perrera or Daniel James tbh.
6.) 27 Jul 2020 17:53:03
I could agree on that, he is better than mentioned players for sure, but I hate seeing how English players are overpriced, just because of nationality. Maguire wasnt worth 80 mil, and i don't think Grealish is worth 70, which is what Villa wants for the player.

I had a funny dream last night.
I dreamt Amorim was lecturing Rashford and one other player (can't quite remember who it was), giving them the speech, which basically said "either you start trying harder or you are gone".
I wish it really does pan out like that!
{Ed077's Note - Thus we christen "I HAD A FUNNY DREAM" ;-P }
1.) 12 Nov 2024 12:54:30
I don't even think Pep would get a tune out of Rashford.
No way would he make my first 11. Amad and Garnacho are now miles ahead of him.
2.) 12 Nov 2024 21:25:18
He plays up front in my team if I was a manager or not at all. I think that’s where Amorim may try him.
3.) 13 Nov 2024 00:45:46
Rashford doesn't have the internal drive. He barely works hard in games, but when he does, it looks like he does it just enough to be seen. Some players have a desire to get the ball, some players just don't have it.
Amorim will rightly give every player a fresh chance in a new formation. I hope some of them suprise us, but I don't think he has room in his teams for players who don't work their socks off.
28 May 2023 18:51:51
Did anyone play the banter fantasy league? How you all did in the league? :)
I finished 6th, pretty happy with the result!
1.) 28 May 2023 19:19:11
I finished 15th.
2.) 28 May 2023 21:25:35
I did a Liverpool this year in the FPL, the less said the better ?.
3.) 28 May 2023 19:51:43
Trololo, are you Ole in disguise happy with 6th?
4.) 29 May 2023 00:21:06
3rd just like United :)
5.) 29 May 2023 00:24:19
I just might be!
6.) 29 May 2023 09:54:20
Just seen how close it was at the top!
7.) 29 May 2023 11:40:51
Think I won it all baby!
8.) 29 May 2023 12:23:10
I pulled a soton - 30th.
9.) 29 May 2023 14:48:21
Basically me bringing in and captaining Kane was what won me the leagues I was in.
10.) 29 May 2023 16:33:11
I had him for the season, best decision I made. Bringing Haaland a bit late and not making him a captain few times, cost me a lot tho.
Well played Welsh!
11.) 28 May 2023 19:51:43
Trololo, are you Ole in disguise happy with 6th?
12.) 29 May 2023 17:26:05
Cheers Trololo!
13.) 29 May 2023 17:39:25
19th. slightly better than the team name suggests.
04 Aug 2022 16:16:40
Does anyone have any update on Sancho?
Is he going to play this weekend?
1.) 04 Aug 2022 20:55:24
Most of what Ken said, I want value for my £780 quid.
30 Jul 2021 20:27:44
Hi Ed, could you please share your opinion on Dusan Vlahovic? How talented do you think he is?
{Ed002's Note - This is the Manchester United page.}
08 May 2021 14:26:53
So, after Spurs lose against Leeds, seems Kane could be a step closer to leaving them.
Cavani is great, but if opportunity arives, I think we should go for Kane. Price should be dropping too, since there is no CL for them.
1.) 08 May 2021 16:35:31
It's Spurs and it's Levy, there is no such thing as a price drop.
Kane would cost 150m, and not a penny less.
2.) 08 May 2021 19:47:20
no chance anyone is paying 150m.
3.) 08 May 2021 21:57:14
Im not sure Shappy, he never wanted to leave, and that can change. And if player puts some pressure on them, it could drop a bit. 150 is unrealistic.
4.) 09 May 2021 05:49:48
Add a kidney to that asking price.
5.) 09 May 2021 08:06:10
It's Daniel Levy, the guy who forced Real Madrid to pay 85m for Bale EIGHT years ago. With inflation, Spurs stronger position, and Kane being more integral to the side I think 150m is the minimum Spurs will let Kane leave for. Especially to a rival EPL side.
6.) 09 May 2021 08:50:05
Ok, just for fun, how much do you think he is worth paying for?
{Ed014's Note - wouldn’t have him for free, odious cheating prick!
31 Aug 2025 19:08:27
Owe him? How come? He can get that money, if he stays at the club. But then, he might miss on the WC and also he will lose out on his next contract, since he won't be playing. It is not that easy angelred.
26 Aug 2025 15:39:05
I don't often agree with what German writes, but I would like to see Shappy answering in "not an essay" way ?.
10 Aug 2025 07:48:47
And what excuse you have for Jackson? They want him gone, but still want 75m.
Garnacho will be gone from the 1st team, but it doesn't have to be a low sell. As i already said, it is not just up to him or what he wants.
09 Aug 2025 19:19:13
It is not eye for an eye, it is what Garnachos price is, what players of similar level went for. The Mount part is just to show that a club can stay strong in their valuation of the player and not sell low, even in a "bad" position.
09 Aug 2025 10:38:40
No, we havent. Its not like Garnacho holds all the cards. If he stays, he might lose a year, he won't play at WC and he will be able to get lower contract, since he wasnt playing for a year. Chelsea want to sell Jackson and still ask silly money. Be realistic.
27 Feb 2026 09:56:59
I was talking in general, Ed. But even in his case, we don't know if he does or does not understand it, and more than that, we don't even know what he actually said.
{Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter, it just means your defence makes no sense. Any racial slur used would not be out of context, like you are suggesting, as Argentina has a long history (as does 99% of the world) of using those slurs in a racial context. Also, you seem to think that being ignorant of the law would be a defence, which is quite clearly utter bollox. It doesn't matter what culture someone came from, it is the culture they are residing within that decides what it right and wrong. If they are ignorant of the norms of that society, then that is on them.}
26 Feb 2026 16:43:49
I do agree with the first part, although we still don't really know what he said, and what I hate most is jumping to conclusions. We suddenly believe Vinicious just because he said it was racism. I can't agree with the second part, perhaps you didn't understand what I was saying. If you come to a totally different culture, which hasn't enslaved black people, and doesn't use "monkey" as a racial slur, but it is still a regular insult in that society, then you can't expect them to just "uninstall" that insult from their vocabulary just because a black person came along.
Doesn't really matter tho, UEFA made their bs decision without any proof and that's that.
{Ed001's Note - Argentina has a culture rife with racism, so not sure you can use that as any way to claim he was innocent.}
24 Feb 2026 10:18:27
Don, to me, it isn't that simple, it depends on the culture you come from, education you had and what not.
As I said, we use the "monkey" insult to people who behave certain way. So, if a black person comes to our society, and acts in that way, and someone calls him a "monkey" it isn't racism automatically. He still might feel like it, but the insult wasn't meant in that way. The point is, it does depend on your background.
Also, do you expect a 20 year old boy, who probably barely finished high school, and focused more on practice, to have the same education as you?
Not to mention that nothing was (is) proven, but everyone jumped to conclusion. For example, Thierry Henry called him out and told him to man up, although he himself didn't man up when he handballed against Ireland. Yes, it is not the same type of incident, but I hate people giving lectures, when they aren't great themself.
Im sorry, I don't think I wrote anything about condoning repetitive racism, especially since this is Prestiannis "first time" (which still isn't proven).
22 Feb 2026 22:37:22
Tumble, I know its hard for you not to be a horse ass, but try it for once, it just might feel good.
DonRed, it actually is not such a shocker, as you put it.
Where I am from (and I believe where you are from as well), when we joke around or want to trigger a person, or just plain insult him, we use those name callings all the time, especially "monkey", but because we are white, it is not racist?
What I mean is, it can't always be racism, it sometimes is "just" an insult. Especially in football, where you want to trigger someone.
Also, when people insult someone, they often use the first word that comes to their mind, in the heat of the moment.
Im not saying there is no racism in the world, but we really need to make a difference between an insult and racial slur.
21 Feb 2026 07:19:26
Is he only racist towards Vinicius, or towards his ~10 teammates and other Real players as well? Is he racist every day, or just in that one minute where he said SOMETHING (and we do not really know what). I mean, it gets thrown out there so easily these days. To me, it is starting to have the opposite effect. What is racism and what is an insult? If he called him a "monkey", is that racism? What if he called him a "donkey"? Would that be too? What would you call it if he told him he was a little girl? I personally dislike Vinicius, but it has nothing to do with his skin color; it has everything to do with his behavior on and off the pitch.
Mbappe is probably lying; he could not hear what was said. I also would not trust Prestianni or Vinicius, just as Mourinho said.
