Hi Ed002,
Are United targeting any other additions to the squad in this window?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer about when players will arrive, but they would like a striker. Clubs are reluctant to sell if they don't have replacements or are not expecting a departure. They may well already be working on summer arrival - particularly a GK and a striker if they cannot get the polayer they want sooner.}

Would that Striker they’re trying to get sooner be Osimhen or Ramos? If you don’t mind the question.

{Ed002's Note - They would like Ramos.}

Is there any players who might leave ed? Rumours about Elanga, pellistri etc. thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Some youngsters but I suspect Summer there wikll need to be serious discussions - by which time there may well be new owners.}

Ramos looked very useful when scoring that hat trick at the WC. Good strength, nice intelligent movement and finishes, looked quick in the box. Could be a very good addition.

Ramos seems just type of striker we need strong athletic tall seems like he'd be a good fit in this united team hopefully a deal can be done maybe more likely to be a summer signing from the impression ed002 has given.

I’d say we are done for the winter now until we have new owners and can get our longer term targets in the summer:

- De Jong for midfield
- Seems Ramos is a striker target
- RB if we sell Wan Bissaka
- GK situation needs clarifying
- One more CB if we see Lindelof, Axel and/ or Maguire leave.

That’s another £200-250m investment right there for our new owners to splash out on.

You'd hope the outlay on incoming players could be offset somewhat by some decent player sales for a change.

We've always been hopeless at moving on players, but you'd think a decent amount of money can be made even from players not with us right now such as Henderson, Bailly, Amad and Telles. Then you've got frees such as Jones, Axel and Heaton coming off the wage bill plus whatever we can then sell the likes of Martial and Lindelof/ Maguire for.

Not that all of the above will leave, but, if it did happen, it would barely impact the current squad as you could only say Martial is a probable starter of any of them.

Rather have Osimhen over Ramos anyday.

I'd also take Kane over both of them but that's a short term solution but if you want to win something it's about now not tomorrow.

Goncalo Ramos has looked bright and dangerous every time I've watched him (twice for Portugal and 4 or 5 times for Benfica) .

He seems to have the right sort of characteristics that we are rumoured to be looking for from a striker.

I'd imagine the goalkeeper we are looking at is Diogo Costa from Porto. Again he looks like the sort of modern keeper that would suit both playing out from the back and being a sweeper keeper. Huge potential, but maybe like DDG could take a year or two to settle in the EPL. Although he looks far more "filled out" than DDG was when he joined us.

Other deals I'd imagine we'd look at would be a new RB if we can find a suitable move for AWB. Although I also wouldn't be surprised if we promoted Laird. Especially if we also bring in a new CB who would be comfortable deputising for Dalot at RB if needed.

I think we might also look at a CB if one of Maguire or Lindelof leave, you'd imagine Timber would be the top choice if that happens.

The final position we need to look at is a midfielder. We look thin on the ground in terms of quality beyond Casemiro and Eriksen. Both of whom turn 31 next month. I'd expect to see us try and bring in a young player in midfield. My dream signing would be Enzo Fernandez, although names like Moises Caicedo, Jude Bellingham, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Kenneth Taylor show there are many options out there who could improve our quality in depth in midfield.

One other player to keep an eye on is Wout Weghoust. If he does well and settles nicely then I wouldn't be surprised to see the club find the 10m or so it would cost to convince Burnley to make his loan a permanent move. This could be especially useful if we sign a younger striker like Ramos. Giving him an older player to learn from and to take some of the pressure.

Not sure they’ll be much rush to move on Wab-Bissaka at the moment with the way he is playing. Good pro as well. Got head down, stayed quiet, waited for his chance. Got to give credit to the lad and may have resolved one area for us. When you watch him, he takes up those CM positions so obviously listening to what ETH wants as well.

It’s a good point Ports. He’s changed his attitude it seems, and listened to the coaches. There was always a decent player underneath there, just needed working on. Him and Dalot have both improved remarkably. Malaria and Shaw on the other side also look much better.

Where is it 'well documented' Eric? All I ever saw was a player who tried his best but maybe just wasn't good enough and the situation made worse by lack of any kind of coaching.

Th ppint was made a few years ago that AWB was a Roy Hodgsen FB at Palace. After a few years at United due the the awful coaching he was still a 'Woy' Full Back at United. Several months under Ten Hag and it actually looks like somebody has spent some time with him trying at least to play the position in a different way.

The lads 25 now and I don't think he will ever be the answer he could have been had Ten Hag got him at 20/ 21 years old. But I definitely see development in his game this year, it just feels like this has come 4 years to late for the lad.

I hope he takes off though and even if he never solves our RB problem I hope he does well somewhere. I definitely feel he was a victim of the last regime than one of thw causes of it.

Google it - surely you’d do that before commenting? You’ll find plenty of stories on how he missed several training sessions and his attitude came into question.

Clearly, with good coaching, he’s knuckled down and responded well.
