Just wanted to divert from excessive attacker transfer talk and look at our left back options. It was mentioned potential targets were Aaron Martin, Tierney and Sessegnon, I feel this is an area we certainly need to fix if Jose still has doubts over shaw. Just wanted to know are these still the targets and have we made any movement on these? Not heard much chatter relating to this. Thanks as always.

dobeg

{Ed002's Note - Aaron Martin (LB) from Espanyol - will replace Shaw if a deal can be done but young and it would be a giant step up
Kieran Tierney (no offer - unlikely)
Ryan Sessegnon (LB) child and needs a couple of years – has to be schooled limited chances to train – not a JM first pick
Danny Rose (LB) from Spurs might be a viable solution.

1.) 07 Jun 2017 19:43:50
I'd been wondering about Martin.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 21:03:58
Would love to see Danny Rose sign, thanks Ed for the info.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 22:46:18
Would take Danny Rose in a heartbeat. Can't see us going there though Ed.

4.) 07 Jun 2017 23:49:07
I want to see Luke Shaw given confidence and encouragement so he fulfills his potential.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 18:41:18
Hi all,
Thanks to the eds as always.
Personally, provided he makes a decent recovery from the injury I'd be delighted to get Rose. Could Shaw end up going to other way Ed?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

6.) 07 Jun 2017 20:18:09
Spurs open to selling Rose Ed?

{Ed002's Note - They want to keep him.}

01 Jun 2017 09:42:40
Question for Ed's if around, apologies if this has already been covered (I have checked the search tool) - If Atleticos ban is upheld, will this influence their decision to sell Griezmann? and how much is the clause a factor in any potential transfer? if we meet the clause do they have to sell if all parties agree? or do they simply just have to notify the player? Assuming we are in for him of course. Thanks as always.

dobeg

{Ed002's Note - I expect it to make no difference as he will likely stay another season. The release clause if of no matter to MU.}

1.) 01 Jun 2017 15:09:55
Ed, if you can answer, if Griezmann is staying for another season and given the fact that United do need a striker, do you see Belotti or Lukaku coming to United?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained where there is interest.}

2.) 01 Jun 2017 15:16:11
Alright. Apologies, Ed.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 18:15:47
So we are not signing Greizmann, at least we don't have to put up with a whole summer of will he won't he.

{Ed007's Note - Wanna bet?}

4.) 01 Jun 2017 19:02:04
Ed007, lol, oh joy.

{Ed007's Note - Greizmann, Griezman, Griezzman...... I can't wait! :-D

Does anyone have any idea about long term left back plans? With Shaw seemingly un-favoured with Mourinho for whatever reason and with Blind, Rojo, Darmian also not looking likely to be a long term option is there plans in the summer to recruit? only defensive reinforcements I have seen rumoured are for CB / RB, thanks in advance.

dobeg

1.) 06 Feb 2017 14:06:39
No idea dobeg. On the face of it things don't look good for shaw but maybe Jose is just giving him the opportunity to improve his fitness.
Ed002 has said we have looked at the young lad from Celtic along with half a dozen other clubs. Apart from that I've heard nothing.
Blind seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Darmian is only a 2nd or 3rd option on that side. Rojo lacks a lot of key attributes to be a top full back but is probably the no 1 choice there at the moment. If shaw were to go it leaves a gaping hole in that position imo.
Hopefully Jose is playing the long game with shaw and hopefully shaw is responding and doing his best to get into top condition. Let's hope that is the case personally I have my doubts.

2.) 18 Feb 2017 18:47:48
We have to remember what Jose did with Mkhitarayan before jumping to too many conclusions about Shaw not being included. I think that he's just giving him some time to get fully fit and keep him out of the team so he doesn't get any unfair criticism.

Odds slashed on Seamus Coleman making a move this week, (now 1/ 3) any truth in this? can't see it happening myself

Afternoon chaps, I wanted to see what peoples thoughts are on the New Balance vs Fellaini saga. 2million pounds he is suing for? I remember my Nike boots giving me a blister when I was younger, worth a claim? I mean how ridiculous is this with the money that he is on?

dobeg

1.) 24 Nov 2017 16:19:16
where there's blame there's a claim. lol.

2.) 24 Nov 2017 16:55:11
HAve you had an accident at work?

Imagine Fellaini doing a TV commercial for that’s lol.

3.) 24 Nov 2017 17:27:27
Ive been waiting for fellaini to do a head n shoulders ad 🤣.

4.) 24 Nov 2017 17:28:02
Wish these lot will concentrate on football for a change. If I was him, I'll be more inclined to sue his hairdresser!

5.) 24 Nov 2017 18:01:39
Schmidt done so basically because fellaini is a rich guy he shouldn't sue someone who he thinks has wronged him, what next he is rich so doesn't need air to breathe and food to survive.

6.) 24 Nov 2017 19:34:13
There was a report a couple of month ago he was trying to get out of the deal, this must be stage 1.

01 Sep 2017 10:40:50
Hi Eds, thank you for all the hardwork. Much appreciated, It has been reported today that a senior squad member wanted to leave yesterday. Is there any truth to this and if so do you know which player?

dobeg

{Ed002's Note - Fellaini.}

1.) 01 Sep 2017 14:53:24
Cheers Ed.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 15:10:56
Have to say as much as i don't admire his play i do admire his professionalism. He doesn't even want to be at the club but still gives his all.
He probably realises himself that he is out of his depth. Do you think he will be offered an extention ed or will he leave on a free at the end of the season.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 15:17:52
Looks like the club want him Jose likes him does a job for us every time he is on the pitch .

4.) 01 Sep 2017 15:24:23
I'm sure there will be a good new contract offer if they want him to stay.

5.) 01 Sep 2017 15:52:43
30 this year fellaini May fancy one last pay day and first team football .
Wouldn't be that surprised to see he leave next summer.

6.) 01 Sep 2017 16:01:23
I suppose it depends on how much jose wants him he might make him an offer he can't refuse. He does trust him that's obvious.

7.) 01 Sep 2017 16:26:10
I think he will go in the summer. I like the strategy of adding 3 or 4 players per summer window whilst retooling key areas. Never bought into whole selling or buying in a window and thinking that it will win you things.

I think we will end up buying another striker next year, right sided player and a couple of mids with carrick and fellaini going. Now we can all get back to a long fun season of football.

8.) 01 Sep 2017 16:33:51
Surprising as he seems to be trusted by jose.

9.) 01 Sep 2017 16:54:35
I have a feeling he will go in Jan if ibra is match fit and the offer on the table suits all parties. At the mo when subbed on he seems to be playing the 10/ advanced mid role adding a little more height and muscle up there. This is what lead to our goal vs madrid. I have a feeling this will be ibras role once fit.

{Ed002's Note - He has been messed about by the club and the manager blocking a move that had been previously agreed.}

10.) 01 Sep 2017 18:41:04
I did see your previous post ed02 stating that and had wondered why the move had been blocked. Were we looking at a replacement that we were unable to obtain.

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know Oxford.}

11.) 01 Sep 2017 18:59:32
Not surprised Jose blocked a move seems to rate him and he gives an other option .
I'm sure I've read that the Belgium coach has told him he needs to play more prob got an eye on his last WC.

12.) 01 Sep 2017 17:23:54
Good point oxford. You may well be right there.

25 Aug 2017 10:13:00
Quick post on Zlatan (Yes another one) Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on him playing in the number 10 position behind Lukaku? He is an expert on the ball and naturally will attract defenders freeing up room and bringing our faster players ROM, Rash and Mkhi into play. Good shot from distance and would be a nightmare to defend against. A. Do you think this is a possible option Mou will consider, B. Would you be happy with this?

dobeg

1.) 25 Aug 2017 14:36:07
And where will mikhi play?

27 Jun 2017 13:18:36
Something new. With the potential additions to the side we will have a very tall starting XI for 17/ 18. Pogba, Bailly, Morata, Perisic, Fabinho or Matic, Lindelof are all between 6ft 2 and 6ft 4. Add the wig to this and recruit big sam as manager and we'd be unbeatable!

dobeg

1.) 27 Jun 2017 13:38:10
Jose likes warriors.

2.) 27 Jun 2017 16:25:09
Play long ball?

3.) 27 Jun 2017 20:48:47
And we still won't be a threat from corners or set pieces. if anyone can find crossing accuracy for the PL this past season I guarantee we're in the bottom 3-4. Also means maybe we won't have to waste a spot on the pitch with Fellaini for his height.

@Ed002

Many thanks for the sharkpod, Is there any substance in the eric dier / james rodriguez rumours? Thanks.

dobeg

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest shown in Dier but Spurs told MU a while ago he is not for sale. To some extent the situation with James Rodriguez is similar to last year, Real Madrid did not want to sell James in January but they will listen to any very high bids made for the summer as they need to raise funds. Five clubs come in to the picture - Manchester United because they are seen as stupid enough to pay what most sides would see as way over the odds for the player who some would describe as a childish flake; Chelsea as the player has suggested himself that he would like to play for them and live in London - but they won't be held to ransom and have major concerns about his ability to settle in the very culturally different England - and this will probably deter an offer; Arsenal could beome interested but will not be attractive to the player as Manchester United, Chelsea or Bayern Munich; Juventus - but he is one of several potential targets and their interest is elsewhere; and Bayern Munich now that Carlo Ancelotti is there - again they won't be held to ransom but the player has said he would be open to playing for Ancelotti again. However, whilst the intention is that he will be sacrificed in the summer to raise funds, there are some significant things going on in the background that could still have an impact on whether or not he will be leaving during 2016 - so we need to wait and see but I expect circumstances to be such that they will listen to offers or look to include him as part of an exchange deal. But they could block any move until the end of the window awaiting the outcome of a number of issues. His agent has spoken to a number of sides about James including Manchester City - who are unlikely to be interested. Real Madrid has also spoken with PSG through a third party whilst discussions were being held over another player. They could bite later in the transfer window if he is still available but I rather doubt it.}

He could have asked his agent to negotiate a new contract, informed his teammates of his intention to stay and left it with the club's president to draft. You never know.

Just wondering what this means for the future of Thomas Muller who is getting less and less playing time as it is, papers will start to add 2 and 2 and he'll shortly be linked with us. I'm sure he was mentioned in the sharkpod as a wildcard, would anyone want Muller and do you think he is attainable?
