what do you think about Sandro Tonali? I saw his name suggested a while back and it is all quiet now.

Great young player, huge potential, good reading of the game, passing range, technique with work rate. Future star from what I've seen.

However, I don't think he wants to leave Italy, certainly not at this stage of his career. I can see him moving to Juventus for a few years then when he's 25/ 26 move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, or just stay at Juventus and collect a title winners medal 3 out of every 4 years.

I'd love to see him at United, but sadly I don't think it will ever happen.

City were/ are looking at him, I think. Looks like a very Pep player. Would do well for them alongside Rodri.

{Ed002's Note - The discussions have been with a different English side. He is certainly not moving to Manchester United.}

Every year I see one of us publish the result of the season prediction of each member from this site on EPL top and bottom finishes.
Has this been already published for 18-19?

It is I and I completely forgot, I'll get to it this weekend.

2.) 22 May 2019 12:26:20
I very much doubt anyone on this page had City down for three domestic titles and Liverpool for the CL final 😂.

3.) 23 May 2019 05:48:45
It will be after the Champions League final as that is part of the predictions.

I was really disappointed with the diving from Di Maria and Januzaj.
Januzaj did well to get into the position and he could have either created or scored a goal but he chose to dive. embarrassing moment.

Valencia and Fellaini have both done pretty good in recent matches but I would like to see a proper team with Rafael and Mata in for Valencia and Fellaini. Maybe Januzaj for Dimaria as well

Only 2 guys had a very good game.
De Gea and The Referee.

Hope our team does well in our next game

The ref had a good game? I don't think so, he didn't have a shocker but he didn't have a good game either, I feel from the 60th min he changed the way he was reffing the match which led to inconsistent decisions.

What puzzles me is Bellerin should of seen a second yellow but Oliver gave himself some time and must of thought it would ruin the game so didn't book him therefore sending him off.
I find it a shame Di Maria was not afforded the same luxury before sending him off.

2.) 10 Mar 2015 08:57:50
I completely agree Chris. I have noticed that Oliver sometimes tends to favour the away team in matches. He is a good ref though.

3.) 10 Mar 2015 09:26:32
I'm with you Chris I see a lot on here saying Oliver had a great game I for one disagree I thought every time an arsenal player hit the deck they got the decision I'm not complaining about Di Maria that was petulant and idiotic and he deserved everything he got but Bellerin should of had his marching orders too this was compounded by Wenger knowing he had got away with one and bringing the lad straight off.

And Fellaini makes it so easy for refs I think he gave away 6 fouls in a 5 min period yesterday and it's not on.

Does anyone think that "Goal Difference" could decide the 4th position in PL this year?
Looks more likely now

fan_of_Carrick

1.) Well, Everton's loss last night puts them firmly in striking range. Arsenal have to lose to Hull for us to have any realistic chance of nicking 4th spot.

2.) We would have been top 4 had it not been for last minute equalisers to Cardif and Fulham. I think we will finish 3 points outside top 4.

3.) Shahram, if my Auntie had a beard she would be my Uncle. Every team can point to might have been although our home forms has been nothing short of disgraceful. There was a run of losses at OT that killed us.

4.) AJH

The losses is not what killed us. what killed us was the last minute equalisers against the lesser teams including the sunderlands of this world in the league cup.

I do agree we dropped too many points between the draws and run of losses. But the losses and some of the draws where such school boy errors it was quite pathetic. Forgot the last minute goal by Lovren at OT by southampton with giggs failing to mark him.

5.) Cardiff Fulham Stoke West Brom just to name a few losses that's 12 point we could or at least should have had by Uniteds expectations

6.) We are where we deserve to be, how many of the teams above us have we beaten? We haven't just been beaten either, in some we have been embarrassed and showed tactical naivety. It is utter folly to presume we are anywhere but where we should be given this years failings. The home form is the main part of the problem and our mental approach has been all wrong.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Ronaldo back? Everyone knows he is one of the best player in the world at the moment. But my only concern is, if we buy him then how can we strengthen other areas where we are short of quality. I guess if we are not in for Ronaldo, then we might add at least 2 quality midfield players or even 3 if can :)
I would be happy if we can get Strootman and 2 from either of Cesc, Thiago, Modric. I believe with these signings and with the likes of Kagawa, RVP, Rooney, Zaha and Januzaj, we will be able to play top quality football.

1.) Totally agree, but we definitely need some new blood on our wings, nani valencia and young are after having disappointing campaigns and 2 need to go imo, and with zaha already signed we need one more ( gaitan, de maria etc etc. ), as well as the players on your list, this for me would be better than putting all your eggs in one basket and getting Ronaldo back

Roonbest

2.) I don't think people appreciate or understand the level Ronaldo (and Messi) are at. Greats like them can be generational and do not come around often. The last such player at OT for me was the late great Georgie Best and if we had Ronaldo it would take us to another level that the players you suggest can't take us to. I don't expect to buy Ronaldo but if there is a chance we must take it as his like may not be seen at OT again for a generation. We should still be buying in midfield whether or not we have Ronaldo but that is the owners to decide on the level of investment

Red Man

3.) Yes you are.
Forget cesc and modric as it is all paper talk. And I think thiago will stay at barca.
So it is strootman. And if Ronaldo wants to come, then I'll go and pick him up myself!
Nomidfield

4.) Yes lol I don't know how anyone can say they don't want arguably the world's best player in their team.

We need to sort out the midfield no doubt but we are short in quality in the wide positions as well - we have ok players on the left in young and nani but they have been well below par - nani looks to be leaving - so we will need someone.

I would keep young as a back up to left wing as I don't see him good enough to be a starter espeically in the big games.

5.) 12 Jun 2013 13:26:17
its a question of priorities. Signing Ronaldo would give us back the fear factor and take us to another level. But we have other areas of the team to sort out. Over the next two summers we need to sign a number two goalkeeper, a left back, centre back, two central midfielders, a left winger, a right winger and a striker. That is what I expect us to bring in over this summer and next summer. Even if we concentrated on just two midfielders and one winger this summer that is still a spend of over fifty million. And a similar spend next summer on a keeper, two defenders and another winger or striker. Over two windows your talking around 150 million in investment or is that not ambition enough? Or we could spank half that amount on a single player and neglect half the team. I would welcome Ron back he's a great player but he's simply not a priority. Most people want him back through sentimentality. I'd rather be practical and look at it realistically. MrE

6.) My biggest concern with the whole Ronaldo saga is that it seems to have paralyzed us in the market since his return.
We have never spend big on a replacement, and I kind of have a feeling, that we are always holding back, just in case he becomes available!

am I mistaken?

I don't understand this loan with obligation to buy. If the club has to buy after the loan period ends why have the loan in the first place. They can directly buy and agree to make the payment from next year.
Or there are clauses which might make the contract void?

Maybe it is time to introduce 5 subs again.
And how about adding a criteria that the 4th and 5th sub should be below a certain age like U23 or should have come through the club academy. We can adjust this but my point is, this might force one or two academy players to get a chance which is unlikely in regular scenario.
Any thoughts?

For some strange reason, I am content with the transfer dealings this time especially not signing Dembele or Sancho.
Ofcourse, it would have been better to have planned and signed a CB but at least they didn't made the mistakes again by not overpaying or not choosing the right players.
I agree Dembele/ Sancho are top quality players but the deal doesn't seem right.

If we buy Telles, can Shaw partner Maguire? Shaw has the pace and he did well whenever we played with 3 at the back.
Of course, this is totally different, just wanted to see what everyone thinks about it?

Getting a proper coach and backing him 100% (not referring to signings but give him time) would be the way forward.
I believe the current team is good enough even without new signings.

The can introduce green card for time wasting and the player should stay off the field for say 5 or 10 min.
