I'm not saying he should be sacked but does anyone seriously know how the training is conducted. I mean he wants to play a system but hasn't had players available to him to play it, so what does training look like. Is he training a system with players who can't play it hoping it will click and then the injured slotting back in when available. Its just that his "preferred" players have been out a long time now so how do they train for this system with players that clearly don't get it or can't play it.

While l agree with most posters in here, we do have very good young players coming through, l don't see Sir Jim buying lots of players, he will push the youth, and maybe bring 3 if he can shift 7or 8, we they should be able to do.

I’d rather finish 8th with a team full of kids than that nonsense last night. I have no words left to describe what I saw last night. Battered again, and a fair scoreline this time to reflect it.

Despite great interviews recently and some mitigating circumstances, ten Hag’s position is untenable, and the sooner Tuchel comes in the better.

All of the talk about last nights game will be about how poor casemerio and the rest were etc but feck me onana was just diabolical.

Bet at his near post for the second, the ball literally went into the middle of the goal for their 4th and him diving at full stretch coming for the other side. He looked like a guy on the way home from a night out with a kebab for their shot off the post at the end staggering to his feet

With every passing game I can't for the life of me understand how we got rid of de gea and "upgraded" with onana. He plays out from the back?! . he lumps the ball forward at every opportunity its a complete joke.

Yes de gea had his faults but there is no doubt if we still had him this season we would have got out of our group for the champions league and we would have a few more points on the board in the league.

Whatever happens next season with a new manager or not if we persist with onana as no.1 God help us.

He’s the worst keeper I’ve seen be the number 1 choice since Tim Howard.

That shot near the end against the post summed him up.

07 May 2024 09:19:55
The pace of the shot took it past him for the first one near post no chance saving that

But let’s face it the defending was shocking

Think the 2nd goal he was unsighted but should have done better

But that defence regardless of missing cbs is awful

The worst defence we have had in my lifetime watching united.

Crazy game today but these things happen in football and I think this game might have sealed the sack of ETH.

Ten Hag: "This is the fourth defeat in this calendar year, so that's not a lot and every time, we had huge problems. "

I'm not sure what to say on that.

What do you want him to say Tim? We had no centrebacks. appartently evans failed a late fitness test and still played - sacrificing himself. Cas was terrible, but playing at CB. Wan bissska awful, but at leftback.

Onana was woeful tonight, and ten hag pushed for him. He was very good last year, been poor this while season.

If you didn't think we could lose tonight then you haven't paid CP enough respect recently. Check their results against good sides. They can defend well, and very dangerous on the break.

Just need this season to end and hopefully some of theee players leave and fresh ideas and effort shows up next year.

It's not just CP Dodgy, at this stage any team can really score 4 or more goals against us. We are really this poor.

 1

07 May 2024 07:18:43
I’m not sure Tim, you said yourself that you weren’t expecting anything. That’s sensible given the selection of players available for an away trip to a side playing really well.

My main disappointment is the scoreline, we shouldn’t be shipping 4 regardless of who plays. But when you look at Casemiro you can understand why. He’s gone from hero to zero in 12 months. That flop he did for the first goal was an embarrassment. What was he doing?

Evans shouldn’t get a free pass either for that poor attempt of a tackle on Mateta.

Wan Bissaka. I’ve made my thoughts on him clear enough. Nothing personal against the lad. He is a very poor footballer who can’t play right back let alone left back. He has zero technique and is very poor positionally, constantly playing people onside or getting caught out of position. Another head scratcher from the scouts.

Wazza, it’s the total lack of desire and commitment that annoys me. Also surely we can set up in some way to at least be competitive?! Injuries are bad but surely there’s more can be done by the coaching staff and especially the players.

I'm not sure what people expected tonight.

Our back four included Casemiro who is badly showing signs of decline in his best position let alone being forced to play in a different position. With a 36 year old Evans alongside him. At LB we had AWB who isn't even good enough to start for us in his best position.

Protecting that back four was a 19 year old kid who has less than 20 starts to his name, along side a player with a pacemaker also playing out of position and unable to play for more than 60 minutes.

Further forward we have a 20 year old striker whose adapting to the league. Mount making what his 4th start due to injuries, and Antony who 100% has a fake passport. Brazilian my arse.

Then looking over to the bench for support and who do we have?

Amad and Amrabat were the only outfield players with a start for us. Wheatley the only one of the five academy lads with any minutes for the first team at all, and a couple of goalkeepers to make up the numbers.

This squad is absolutely bare bones, with it's ragged arse on the floor.

Palace were the home side on a bit of a positive bounce under their new manager.

We were never going to get much from this game, and I'd defy any side in a similar situation to do much better.

07 May 2024 01:29:21
Again I do not think anybody was expecting anything other than some desire and effort which was again lacking.

We have a 20 year old adapting to a league yes, but he will be 24 and adapting unless we give him some service to learn from!

He could have brought one of the youngsters on for some minutes instead of Amrabat. We may need them if the injuries continue and risk going into FA Cup with players on their first senior start.

Nothing else to say. Nothing can be said. Hard times.

There so many that were just poor. when you get hammered like this its not just one or two players. 5 or 6 who were just awful. Some of the players have to go and just terrible to watch as footballers. Poor touch, passing, decision making and positioning all game.

Good palace team and that front 3 was always going to run circles around our back 4. the midfeilders all collectively were so poor and did not help a make shift back 4. Garnacho and dalot only players who did not embarrass themselves.

Elephant in the room but going to say Hoiland is poor and so far off a striker leading the line.

I expect the manager to learn from his tactical mistakes and still sending the team out to do the same thing every game and end up conceding the same way.

I get what your saying barebones squad always a struggle no legs lots of players out of position.

So why play 2 high 8s still? Why force your fullbacks high or invert them? Why make your wingers so narrow and easy to mark?

Yes I didn't expect much yes the players didn't deliver much, but the manager has continued with a tactic and style that's been found out even when the majority of the first team play it what did he think would happen when the team put out last night tried to play it, we all expected it why didn't he?

Perhaps Shappy when we are short of CB we look at why yet another injury to one was picked up in training. Surely at this stage of the season knowing the CB situation you wrap up what you have in cotton wool to get them from game to game, but not ETH. Maybe you will talk about tactics, as dictated because that first goal would not have been conceded in most Sunday pub teams. We didn’t get behind the ball, surely we should know how to set ourselves.

 2

07 May 2024 07:20:13
Pretty much sums it up Shappy. We are not the Manchester United of old.

 1

06 May 2024 22:26:12
Could EtH have picked a better team from those available? Could he have done anything tactical for that team to play better?
It’s a bloody mess but surely it all can’t be down to just the manager?
An eleven year low point - and no chance of top 7 now….

 2

07 May 2024 07:44:41
Not often I would agree with Jamie Carragher but we appear to be one of the worst coached teams in the league. The first goal was a picture of how not to set up, how not to get behind the ball. How have we had so many training injuries? When we were getting training injuries and at a key point of the season our CB in tatters ETH doesn’t take care of them and we get more injuries. Accountability doesn’t go away.

06 May 2024 22:07:42
I know a number of posters on here want eth to stay on next year. It's not my choice as tactically I think he's limited and he's been found out massively in a bigger league. But never mind that, honestly how could ineos justify keeping him after this season? I predict we will lose all our remaining games and the cup final. Should that happen then surely it's a hard sell to the fans to persist with the manager? Also we are hardly an attractive proposition to new signings are we.

 4

06 May 2024 22:34:35
Can't understand anyone's reasoning in keeping him.
Signings woeful
Set up woeful
No patterns of play
This is how he wants us to play. It's a joke.

🥱🥱🥱.

07 May 2024 08:31:37
Said on the other page, his postion is now untenable. Every single player had that look on their face last night - they know it too, and a good 50% cannot wait to get out of there too.

 0

07 May 2024 09:06:38
Let the door hit them on their arse on the way out.

06 May 2024 22:01:05
As bad as it gets, you can add Mount to list to go too, the only players who are trying are Garnacho, Mainoo and Dalot Ralf was so right when he said open heart surgery, the entire spine of the team needs replacing. Hopefully Sir Jim can help us.

 2

06 May 2024 22:40:19
Yes, Jose, Ralf, EtH have all said the squad needs an overhaul, which is in the process of happening.
Finally the board are actioning the calls for the overhaul.

 1

06 May 2024 23:14:32
What do you mean ralf was right. Eth brought 9 of those starting tonight into the teM.
Only t he 2 full backs were not eth players.
This is not a case of the same players throwing a manager under the bus these were all eth signing or players who came from our academy.

Stop this nonsense of its the same old players. Its not this was full of eths hand picks.

07 May 2024 06:51:47
That wasn't what I was referring to, but you go and jump in there champ.

They referred to the whole setup needing a change, just so that your next reply is aligned to actual topic.

07 May 2024 07:29:32
Ken do you think ETH’s first choice was Johnny Evans?

 0

06 May 2024 21:35:22
Please get ten hag out of our club, he's awful, he's alienated sancho and rashford, if we sell rashford and he goes somewhere and finds form like sancho it will be unforgivable, too many players are injury prone, I hope sir Jim, sorts this mess out asap, as players we hope to sign will go elsewhere rather than join our mess, we need Ashworth in now, and a new manager in before the end of the season, to give a glimpse of how it could be, whether it's zidane, or tuchel. And stop buying players that are past it.
Rant over.

06 May 2024 22:39:04
Sancho hasn't found form. he's had one decent game, and even then Dortmund didn't put PSG game to bed.

 2

06 May 2024 22:45:54
The same rashfird who’s been poor all season

Hardly runs back doesn’t make runs in behind

Same sancho he let have months off “to find himself”

The manager is far down the list of who should be gone.

 3

06 May 2024 23:17:08
He is gone in the summer. He knows it we know it everybody knows it except for a few delusional people still buying eth's bull.
No way sjr and team are buying his rubbish.
There were a few that defended ole till the end too.
But we just have to sack it up until he is sent packing.
Can't wait.

 5

07 May 2024 00:35:56
Rashford will never find his form. Might play well few games but that is it. He has been the same for last 8 9 years and that won't change.

Sancho TBH i wouldn't say has found his form. He played really well last week but that is it. He has been there for 5 months and has scored 3 goals with numerous below average performance.

Attitude wise as well, I would much rather see both of these players leave.

 3

07 May 2024 06:56:34
Absolute plastic fans. That's what this club should get rid of, before even Casemiro! An absolute disgrace to call yourself fans.

To think anyone defending Sancho and using one game as a reason to attack the current sitting manager, can even attempt to call themself a fan is a national disgrace.
