evra has stated a few times that one person wasn't so keen for him to return to united, any idea who is responsible?

Bernardo silva of Monaco is there any interest and if so is it seen as an alternative to griezman?

Ryan12

1.) 25 Feb 2017 18:09:59
No idea on Evra but Ed002 has said there is interest from Man Utd in Silva.

With Silva being a left footed attacking midfielder who plays from the right, I don't see it happening unless Mata or others are sold.

Any substance to these gundogan rumours. It's coming from bild in Germany any one know If they are reliable?

Ryan12

1.) 11 Apr 2015 16:10:18
I'd be very happy if it's true. Gundogan and Hummels would be two great additions. Klopp coming out and saying that Hummels has told him that he's considering MU move. Why not go for Reus too :)

2.) 12 Apr 2015 03:25:36
Bild is the equivalent of the Star or the Sun. I wouldn't put too much faith in what they say.

Ed is there any intrest in de sciglio?
Think he's probably as good as anyone reasonably attainable out there for rb. Cheers in advance

{Ed002's Note - Mot from MU.}

Express reporting that mendes offered us moutinho aswell. I don't know how reliable the express is but wouldn't suprise me if we sign him with mendes as his agent.

Ryan12

1.) He would be a brilliant addition. just the kind of player to sit deep and distribute the ball.

Guillem balague just confirmed di maria new number 7. Ronaldo told him us not psg. Apparently between 60-70 million euros which were happy to pay I thought it would be around 50 but as long as were finally signing a world class player.

Ryan12

1.) Well done ryan first to report di maria

What on earth has mata done wrong. Rooney was shocking fellaini offers nothing and play 80-90 mins mata does more in 10 mins then them both and the gets subbed off.

Post match interview should be interesting.

2.) 07 Aug 2016 20:02:51
He's not tall.

Don't post a lot (mainly because I'd just be repeating other people's similar opinions) but wanted to give my opinion on a few things. Firstly mourinho, He's the only man who should of replaced sir Alex in the first place, he almost guarantees short term succes And the club could of planned ahead in the background. now he's in I can see us winning the league within the next 2-3 years where as under van gaal I couldn't see us even mounting a challenge. We will probably look back in a few years and realise can gaal has done a good job in terms of restructuring and setting the foundations for the future.

for next season 2 cbs a right sided winger and a striker and I can see us running close. A cm at this time isn't priority and should be an after thought. Rooney has shown he can play there (been poor there in the past but had 2-3 really good games there recently. ) fosu mensah looks a player and I'd love to see him playing holding midfield I truly believe he could be thrown straight in the deep end playing week in week out there and would thrive.

I'd like us too go for garay manolas and a pacey right winger maybe Bernardo silva.

Ryan12

1.) 27 May 2016 16:31:23
Not singling you out Ryan, because its being said a lot. But nobody, including Jose, guarantees success short term or otherwise. If people think we are guaranteed to win things under Mourinho, it is just setting themselves up for more disappointment.

The EPL is tough anyway, but look at the money being spent and the managers that will be competing next season, and it is only going to get tougher. Nobody is guaranteed anything in football.

Just look at Leicester this season. Enough said.

2.) 27 May 2016 17:07:02
Rooney needs to prove himself in midfield against the top teams. He lacks the mobility imo. He can pass the ball well at times and loomed good in the FA cup. To risk playing in their all season especially against the tops teams might prove costly and he may simply end up being a pass by.

Converting a former forward and number 10 to a central midfielder is a sign of desperation.

3.) 27 May 2016 17:56:41
Betty no manager currently working has a better record in the EPL than Mourinho. So haven't we just given ourselves the best chance of success. The money is there to bring in players and with the right manager we gave the best chance to succeed.
What else can the club do?

Mad hatter did you watch Scholes in his early days both in the youth and first team? He was a centre forward. He was rated by players as the best finisher in the club but due to his lack of pace and the other strikers at the club SAF converted him to CM. That wasn't desperation it is just progression. If a professional footballer is world class then he can play almost anywhere. Rooney has a great range of passing, he can shoot, is a surprisingly good tackler and has a good engine. So why can't he play at CM?

4.) 27 May 2016 18:12:15
I think Rooney can play at CM with the qualities Hoggy mentioned, but he does lack the ability to keep hold of the ball consistently enough to be a trustworthy center mid. Scholes could do it, because his touch and awareness were world class. Rooney has been a great player up front, often based on his instinctiveness, and risk taking. At center mid, you can't be trying every pass that pops into your head, and he is sometimes guilty of that. Otherwise, he does possess a lot of good qualities to be a center mid.

5.) 27 May 2016 18:24:03
So who is as good as scholes? Herrera carrick infact anyone at the moment .

Eveyone of our mids need to prove themselves.

6.) 27 May 2016 18:40:33
Infact
With the excpetion of ddg i think there is a question mark against every player.
Can martial score an extra 9 goals to make that step up to a 20 goal a season striker.
Can depay play football
Will shaw return 100% from his injury.
Can rash and linders kick on

Every out field player has something to prove this season.

7.) 27 May 2016 18:55:14
Betty, sounding like a certain Dutch manager who recently lost his job. Mourinho is anything but a disappointment waiting to happen.

8.) 27 May 2016 20:54:35
I agree all players have to prove themselves every week of every season.
Nobody should be guaranteed their place in the team.
Everybody should be allowed a bad game as king as the reaction to it by that player is to do better and work harder to get it right the next time.

9.) 27 May 2016 21:46:31
hoggy, Shan, you are misinterpreting my post. I'm not knocking Jose, and I said down the page he is the best we could have got at this time. I'm just saying NO manager guarantees trophies.
Everyone is revimg about the team Poch is building at Spurs, and they are expected tompush hard next season. Then Conte at Chelsea, Klopp with the scousers, Pep at City, Wenger will have money to spend in the summer etc etc. All great managers who, along with Jose will be expecting to push for trophies next season. They can't all win, therefore there will be several top top managers who win nothing next season.

Interesting read on sly sports at the minute about mark Hughes, worth a read.
Not saying he should be looked at but he certainly a better manager than given credit for.

Ryan12

1.) 30 Dec 2015 19:09:23
He's had his ups and downs but I'd take him. People talk about Neville and/ or Giggs but Sparky has played in Europe, managed internationally with Wales, and has huge EPL experience. What he is doing at Stoke is remarkable.

2.) 30 Dec 2015 22:10:40
Moon, I'm with you on the CB's, in fact I think they are one of the main issues in the squad (bar a goal scorer) . I feel the team is set up to overly protect the however that's based on little to no formal tactical knowledge, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

08 Dec 2015 21:56:34
Ancelotti is waiting. The one game we could of done with 2 holders in the middle he doesn't play them hats off to Ed1 who called it numerous times about are defence relying on the 2 holding cm's to much. All the money spent and look at the 11 that finish the game it's shocking. The Subs he makes yet again make no sense it was perfect for Wilson to come on second half such a stupid decision loaning him out. Other than that nice to see Powell back.

Ryan12

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, it was worrying though to see how they fell apart without them. I mean as a football fan, because United have been dull using them and that game is bound to make you return to that system. I dread watching you for the rest of the season.

I defo agree on Powell, I hope it is the start of his career now.}

1.) 09 Dec 2015 07:54:06
They scored from to set pieces and a wonder goal would playing 2 deep cm have stopped them goals?

{Ed001's Note - surely that is completely missing the point, you wouldn't have conceded the set pieces, nor would they have got into position to shoot.}

2.) 09 Dec 2015 09:35:47
They were torn apart through the middle too many times whether Wolfsburg scored from the chance or not, there have been lots of people on here saying that we don't need 2 holding CM or that the "shackles" need to be taken off and look what has happened. I am not defending LVG as I think he should have the squad in a better position considering the time and money he has had but he knows there are still big weaknesses there and 2 holding CM is his solution for now.

31 Aug 2015 19:51:28
And the page has gone into meltdown. Not a bad deal for de gea but I can't help but feel had he signed a contract we would of got nearly double that. What is going on upfront I would of said we needed 2 forwards (a winger and a striker) but we've got rid of 2 and have 3 natural wingers mata and Valencia and 2 strikers one kid who will take time and one passed it has been who offers nothing. Thursday nights channel 5

Ryan12

1.) 31 Aug 2015 20:11:44
But he didn't sign a new contract.

If you look at the results of newcastle after he left that tells you all you need to know. I hope it's true he's a quality player good passing range an eye for goal good delivery and gets stuck in aswell.

Bit harsh on Evans he was our best cb 2 seasons ago but if it meant hummels then who can complain. Dani alves will be available next summer but he's poor defensively. 2 names I'd like to put out there for rb are danilo from Porto and di sciglio from Milan who I think will be world class.
