Cannot beleive for a minute SJR has put money into the club to sit and watch that turgid dross - If he is anywhere close to being this pro active clever businessman he is supposed to be from any angle he looks at the club ETH is toast.

What you on about…we are one of the most exciting and dynamic teams in the league! 🤷‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️.

 7

28 Apr 2024 07:15:52
ETH is seriously losing it or smoking that Dutch stuff too much!

To say openly that we will be lucky to finish top 3 is not exactly motivational, nor good business when we will struggle as it is to attract players.

To say we are one of the most dynamic teams. WHAT THE?

Sorry clog stomper but I’m now officially on the get you out bus.

Remember when RR gave that speech about open heart surgery and needing 8-10 players.

A year later everyone said oh look RR was right after all.

Let's be honest EtH is right. With a fully fit squad we would be in a fight for the top 4. We are so far from competing with City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

 4

28 Apr 2024 08:15:00
Clog stomper Keefy, really? 🤦‍♂️
Honestly the casual racism that gets through on this site not a good look. This is the third time in the past couple of months I’ve read something like this.

 7

28 Apr 2024 08:34:39
Agreed Mad Hatter.

The manager tells the truth at a press conference and he's put to the sword. In 12 months time under when we are no better off under Southgate people will look back and say EtH was right.

 2

28 Apr 2024 09:09:20
No Man Utd manager should say that out loud Mad Hatter ever ever 🤣.

 1

28 Apr 2024 09:21:46
He might be right…infact we know he is. That doesn’t mean he isn’t part of the problem also. Tactics? In game management, player decisions, recruitment all things he’s in control of and they’ve been poor. His style might work in Holland where Ajax are the big boys and the opposition doesn’t punish you, but in the premier league he’s been found out. The players are poor so that exacerbates the tactical flaws even more. We’ve seen the same thing happen all season but still things stay the same, that’s very telling for me.

 1

28 Apr 2024 09:29:29
Whoa you can’t be slinging around such offensive terms as clog stomper and accusing people of drug use just because they’re Dutch, angry and clueless.

 1

28 Apr 2024 10:22:29
Wow. Calm down. It’s legal in Holland.

You just called them Dutch, angry and clueless! 😂

FYI one of my best mates is Dutch. We met when I lived in Holland. He often says he is a cloggie or clog s*****r when asked where he is from.

He calls me a dirty Manc, a Pom and a pasty ginger but I don’t get offended.

 2

28 Apr 2024 11:02:34
ETH has puzzled me with his comments and some decisions but I think I'm just frustrated the team is not doing well, but I want ETH to stay. He has started from zero and had a lot to contend with. I don't want someone new come in and start again from zero. I think he's a smart man and will have success with time. I think the players he has at the minute are mostly poor in quality and maybe only has 3 or 4 players ready to play for Man Utd along with some young players with potential.

 1

28 Apr 2024 11:49:58
But he’s not trying anything new. Him and his coaching team persist with the same tactics that clearly don’t work, and same training methods that are resulting in multiple injuries.

Now there is an argument that they were so unfit, that his regime is taking its toll as they adjust. We saw Liverpool under Klopp go through the same as they adapted to high energy and high press football. So confused on how to judge his work at the club. All I know is, Southgate cannot be the answer.

 1

28 Apr 2024 12:02:42
Keefy if that’s how you and your mate speak to one another privately that’s your prerogative but a public forum isn’t the place.

In roughly 14 years of contributing to these pages under this username and one or two lost logins, I haven’t seen the levels of casual racism been accepted as has been recently. Each time I’ve called it out and my post has received several likes, so it’s not just me.

I get that many people are frustrated and want the manager out. That’s fine. But it doesn’t need to get personal, and casual racism should never be accepted.

28 Apr 2024 12:49:30
Completely agree Eric79. That's where I am with it.
I sway from keeping him to getting rid.
I do think tuchel would be the best appointment, Southgate would be another mistake.
The pros to keeping ten hag unfortunately are out weighed by the cons.
He hasn't got the best out of any player. His purchases have all been woeful, I don't think I'd keep one. 2 seasons in there's no patterns of play, no defined style.
The question I ask myself is, can ten hag get us closer to the top teams. I don't think he can.

 0

28 Apr 2024 13:45:03
Tuchel, the pound shop Klopp :D
I'm sure this place is going to be a mess of everyone stating/ restating their stance on EtH for the rest of the season, if not after every game. Looks like it's all ramped up again today, fueled by some admittedly bizarre comments in his post-match conference.
Still hangs in the balance for me although with each dropped point or concentration-blip leading to a goal it swings away from him. No manager has implemented an enjoyable style post-Fergie, and few if any have covered themselves in glory with their signings. It hasn't 'clicked' for any of them.
And I think that's why they'll keep him, at least through the summer window. SJR said at the very start that if the same thing keeps happening to different managers, they're not the problem - it needs to be dealt with above them. They've literally only just started doing that, and arguably barely at all as two of the people they want can't even sit at their desks.

 0

27 Apr 2024 21:35:19
Fans can critse ETH or back him, but what I'm seeing is a manager blaming all the injuries on our lack of consistency. He has continually played the same players, when every fan watched those players fail to work hard or implement his philosophy on the pitch. He picks the team each week, if players aren't working he should drop them no matter who they are or what they earn.

 3

27 Apr 2024 22:30:06
Who should have been dropped today, for who?

 1

28 Apr 2024 07:12:52
Before the game……

Antony for Amad
Erikson for McTominay
AWB for my gran and I’m 62!

Ironically Antony had a slightly better game but the whole display was dross and chalk and cheese to Sheffield game, and that was limp.

 1

27 Apr 2024 21:31:48
Sir Jim has apparently met with “super-agent” Jorges Mendes, whose clients include:

Gonçalo Ramos

Diogo Costa

Jaoa Neves

Ruben Neves

Lenny Yoro

Rayan Ait Neuri

Wonder if he’s using his charm to grease the wheels for a deal or two?

 2

28 Apr 2024 00:26:15
Utd are interested in Joao Neves out of that list and maybe Ait-Nouri.

Could be talking about being back JM or Ronaldo 👀😂.

 0

28 Apr 2024 09:13:27
Why would Ratcliffe meet with agents when he's nothing to do with the football structure 🤦‍♂️.

 1

28 Apr 2024 09:44:32
Could he be meeting him for sales?

I’m sure he represents some of our players too.

 0

28 Apr 2024 11:51:22
I guess because our CEO and Ashworth are not yet legally in place at the club?

 0

27 Apr 2024 18:22:47
Am I the only one that thinks onana is the worse keeper in the league. No matter what manager we have we will make no progress with him in goal . there's a good few we need rid of but for me you start off by strengthening the back 4 and keeper. 47 million . I hope jr has common sense.

 11

27 Apr 2024 19:04:33
I was at the game today and the frustration with Onana was palpable. I counted a number of occasions where he was faffing about with the ball for upwards of 15 seconds only to pass it to a player with some up his jacksy! Or to Maguire who he could have passed it to in half the time.

Having said that he made a couple of incredible saves.

My question would be why take Mainoo off and replace Hoijlund with Amad? Not having a pop at Amad but he is tiny!

The boos ringing round the stadium when Mainoo was pulled said it all.

 6

27 Apr 2024 19:10:36
Never understood why utd went for onana. He's pathetic, hasn't helped in possession or our build up, his passing has been poor, takes to long on the ball. His actual goal keeping is woeful.
He's been at fault for a lot of goals this year. Would of been better off sticking with de gea, would of had another 6 points easy.
All of ten hags signings have been woeful.

 5

27 Apr 2024 19:17:10
I don’t rate him, concedes the same type of goal too many times for me. Is very rash coming for the ball, there was zero danger with awb and that player that needed him to come out like that.

Hopefully someone comes in looking a ropey keeper this summer and we can get something back for him.

 4

27 Apr 2024 19:19:35
Why we spent £50m on him and didn’t keep DDG and invest the cash elsewhere is beyond me.

He’s not even that good a shot stopper, doesn’t come for crosses ever, and on the rare occasion he does, gives a penalty away.

 5

27 Apr 2024 19:26:06
It was poor from him for the pen. But cassemiro also shouldn't be doing that, shocking header. We have martinez, varane, lindelof, Evan's and Kambawala out injured at CB. Plus both CBs out. We aren't going look good at the back, with or without the ball when we have so many players out. I was furious with cassemiro, but in fairness he is playing out of position. I think Onana was surprised and scrambling thinking he HAD to get there. Needed to trust wan bissska more and stay home. DDG would have stayed home I that situation, and everyone would have slated him for it.

 2

27 Apr 2024 19:49:30
Just one more fundamental error.
He will do that 6 or 8 times a season. At ajax it didn't matter they were 3 up.
He will cost more points than he saves ed002 has told us we are looking to bring a new keeper in. That's because this guy is miles off what a keeper should be at this level. We had our pants well and truly pulled down here.
He is not in the same class as ddg one of our best ever keepers.

 3

27 Apr 2024 20:02:08
I think everyone on here said Onana would improve us as a team, modern goal keepr who would see us play 10m further up the field from what I remember.
He hasn't had a settled defence in front of him and has always had a mistake in him apparently, would be interesting to see how he gets on next year with hopefully a fully fit defence.

 2

27 Apr 2024 20:27:00
Not everyone said that Grim.

 1

27 Apr 2024 20:50:19
Ironically we brought him in due to his ability to play out from the back yet he’s made more errors than degea did in that area. Wonder what other keepers we are looking at?

 0

27 Apr 2024 22:08:51
Where's degea at these days now. Top class keeper should be at a big club surely?

I think onana has been one of our most consistent performers post Xmas. he's also our busiest performer.

 4

27 Apr 2024 22:13:11
Whilst I haven't been impressed with Onana this year, you could argue a case for inconsistencies with the back 4 may have led to these decisions to try and take command if situations, when he might otherwise not jump into that situation with an established and trusted back four in front of him.
Not defending the attempt that gave away the pen, just offering some reasoning.

 0

27 Apr 2024 22:25:08
i certainly never said he was good - i posted here when we were in for him that i'd never seen him catch a ball - all the clips of him on youtube showed him stop the ball with every part of his body except his hands - nope, not for me - never has been.

 2

27 Apr 2024 17:17:12
An absolute fraud of a manager. Get rid of him.

 10

27 Apr 2024 17:54:26
Bit like some of our supporters.

 6

27 Apr 2024 18:03:24
100% with you. Bonus is you win a trophy too.

 0

27 Apr 2024 18:36:22
I’m not sure calling for a new manager makes you any less of a fan.

EtH is dead in the water and we’re playing the season out until the FA Cup final. If it walks like, talks like it and looks like it. It probably is what it is.

Hopefully we can move on both winning two cups in two years.

 4

27 Apr 2024 18:58:36
Onana is a fraud.

 4

27 Apr 2024 17:01:37
In less than a week, we struggle to beat Sheffield Utd, we can’t beat Burnley, and ETH tells us we won’t win the league next season. Now I see why so many believe he’s the right man.

 3

27 Apr 2024 17:59:13
Brd.
I think we all know in reality the likelihood is we won't win the league.
However no top class manager privately never mind publicly concedes before a ball is kicked.
It's ole-esque statement.
He just should learn about the power of silence. That should never have been said. The press are playing him like a fiddle. He's a goner.
All we have as fans is hope the last man we need crushing our hope is the man in charge.

 7

27 Apr 2024 18:20:22
Perfectly put Tumble!

 1

27 Apr 2024 18:22:58
Totally disagree tumble. It is time this fan base takes a breath and realised what we are. Until we truely accept that we are not the club of 15 years ago, we will continue with this rubbish. First we need to be honest with where we are, then we need to start the rebuild we know we need.

We can't just buy 1 or 2 players, change the manager and expect to challenge city. Does it hurt people's feeling to hear that?

Took Liverpool a long time to realise what they were, and they had a few false dawn's along the way. They won some cups, but it was a commitment to a style, breaking up the old and bringing in players for that style that finally helped them break through. Arsenal similar story.

I like to hear the honesty from ten hag. He is right, we are miles off challenging. Do you disagree?

 5

27 Apr 2024 18:28:10
The guy can’t win no matter what he says

If he says “we’re not that far away from challenging” he gets called deluded

He then says we aren't close which is realistic and still gets slaughtered.

If anyone thinks we’re close to city and arsenal need to go doctors even with a good window we are miles off.

 5

27 Apr 2024 18:39:36
We are miles off and we will be even further away if he stays. Struggled at home against 2 sides who’ll be in the EFL next season and you’d struggle to tell a gap between them and us. Tactically naive and stubborn with crap players is a recipe for disaster. And for all the backing that he’s got crap players, a lot of those he wanted so he’s got to take responsibility there too. Honestly just end the season now. Limping in the cup final to get a hiding…. what fun!

 3

27 Apr 2024 18:55:47
You’re right Bolger. He finds winning very hard indeed.

 2

27 Apr 2024 19:14:04
Ten hags honesty? He's deluded, the most entertaining team in the league.
A better coach gets more out of these players. Being honest a better coach doesn't sign half of the players ten hag has chosen to bring in. Question marks on all of them. Clubs fault for giving him to much say so.

 1

27 Apr 2024 19:19:30
I just want to enjoy watching my team. For 12 months it’s been shocking. Towards the end of last season in April it was poor. This entire season has been ridiculous.

Trophies will come in time, and they’re great. But for the love of god I just want to enjoy what I’m seeing.

 3

27 Apr 2024 19:43:50
Yes DB I disagree.

 1

27 Apr 2024 20:04:25
Caolan_2 sums it up. I’d swap a trophy winning season full of crap football for nothing more than entertaining football that makes me want to walk through that turnstile.

 3

27 Apr 2024 22:22:57
Or Tumblr.
He could be echoing SJR comments about patience.
Here is a fact. We will not win the league next year.

Here is another fact. We will have the same posters posting the same repetitive tosh next season.

Here is where the facts get less predictable. We might have the direction of the club in order, the backroom staff aligned, plans in place for the redevelopment of OT and training facilities, a pathway to the first team for all youth players worthy of a place, a transfer strategy that identifies any shortcomings from the youth setups and plugs accordingly based upon solid research from our upgraded scouting network, the players who have downed tools repeatedly over the last few tenures will have been moved on etc etc etc.

As SJR has stated clearly, EtH less clearly, and I've been saying. We are in a period of actual transition, where we have a plan. I don't believe all the previous comments about transition have been accurate, they have been lies from the board all the way down the club hierarchy. Now we actual have plans in place to rectify any issues that are preventing the club from competing again. That's right, not winning trophies, just competing. That is step 1.

Have we been dire this year and a few of the last 10, yes.
Will we fix all those issues in 3 months before the new season kick off, no.

Just be patient and trust the process, otherwise you will die a few years younger my friend.

 1

27 Apr 2024 23:51:45
Im Not stressed at all jimbo this is my hobby supporting united. Well one of them.
I'm very well aware of the process we need to umberto from a structural point of view.
I know it's not a quick fix I don't expect one at all.
2 / season of continuous improvement. A team and coach the fans can identify with. That will take time.
Eth is in my opinion not the fan to k lead us.
The people in charge of this new process did not put him in and I feel its inevitable that he goes in the summer.
I'm OK and more confidant and comfortable if they put their own man in. I think they will be too.
If that sets us back a year I'm OK with that. It's a great opportunity for the right man.

 1

27 Apr 2024 17:07:40
I really hope the reason ten hag is still in charge is we are waiting for tuchel not Southgate.
Do think it should be potter or tuchel. If we want potter we need to act now.

 2

27 Apr 2024 17:30:41
Doesn’t matter who is manager with this squad

The players just are simply not good enough and make far to many basic errors in games

Casemiro trying to head the ball back instead of clear and onana rushing out and punching the player

It’s been comical all season and certain players have given up and are not that bothered anymore

Ten hag will only have himself to blame when he does eventually get the boot as he’s consistently playing players who ain’t performing.

 2

27 Apr 2024 19:11:43
Agree with casemiro but a decent coach gets more out of this team.

 0

27 Apr 2024 19:20:18
Bolger the players are still running right down to the last seconds. They’ve not given up.

I didn’t see a group that have downed tools today.

 1

28 Apr 2024 00:15:56
Not at all caolan. They dig in and are mostly better when behind for some reason. But liking fit positives is slim pickings at the mind moment.
We shouldn't have to be lauding then for sticking at it.
Eth imo has not lost all the players to be fair to him.

 0

27 Apr 2024 08:23:17
I believe that our issues stem from midfield which clearly lacks balance and is porous in the extreme. McTominay's strengths lie in arriving late into the box but he falls woefully short defensively. Bruno can be creative and chips in with goals but his passing is erratic and he is indisciplined defensively. He is certainly not at the level of De Britney or Rodri. I don't believe that Mainoo will evolve as a defensive midfielder but will play further forward. Casemiro is indeed a defensive midfielder but no longer has the legs to cover the ground. And Eriksen likes to play a pass but again falls way short defensively. We need young energetic, tenacious players who won't let the dog away with the bone.

 6

27 Apr 2024 09:32:25
De Britney? 😂.

 4

27 Apr 2024 10:58:46
Is he a ferry?

 3

27 Apr 2024 13:20:04
EtH wanted de Jong, and got a very different player in Casemiro. Then got Mount, and noone knows why. The midfield stinks other than the brilliant emergence of Mainoo. We’re going to lose Cas and Eriksen, maybe Barkley on a free is a shout. Probably in team of year atm.

 0

27 Apr 2024 13:21:03
I’ve heard he’s Toxic.

 1

27 Apr 2024 13:51:50
Eth won't be here so that's a good thing. Get a real manager in asap.

 4

27 Apr 2024 15:59:57
Steady @Timbleweed. You’ll be in trouble with views like that.

 0

27 Apr 2024 08:18:53
Hers's an interesting point of view that I happen to agree with. Copied from elsewhere:

🚨 An Argentinean fan once said all this. I'll repeat it as a message to Rashford, but I'll change some of the language.
"You live in a mansion, drive a BMW on weekends, and enjoy the company of the best girls. You eat healthy every day; the day before a match, you sleep very well in a 5-star hotel. You spend 24 hours scratching your bàlls, doing damn all, playing F24 efootball and Call of Duty. "
"Your boots are worth $600, maybe $500, $300, or $400? You're bandaged by a kinesiologist, you eat well, and train well. Your socks don't cut off your blood circulation, your shorts don't scrape your bàlls, and your shirt sticks to your body without sweating. "
"That's worth. I don't know, your football jersey costs maybe $180 each. The ball is perfect, PERFECT! Inflated with a barometer to 8 bars, it costs $120. The pitch doesn't have a single defect, and the goal is 7 x 2.40 meters. We, the fans, applaud you when you enter the pitch. "
"You cry baby can't pass a ball can't control a ball, you want to score and the ball goes to the fvçking moon, you want to give a pass to your teammates that's 1 meter away from you, you pass it back or pass it to the opponent! "
✅️ You dribble with your head down, running aimlessly like a headless chicken, shooting from anywhere as if you're Ronaldo or something.
After playing trash week in week out this is all we get from you 👇
Marcus Rashford: Don't judge my commitment to Man Utd, Enough is Enough blah blah blah blah bro wake up and play good football or start learning Arabic
Thinking that changing your profile picture and planning it with your mate will make us go soft on you nah and finally no one is abusing you and we have a every right to criticize you and tell you to show commitment to the club paying £350K+.

 10

27 Apr 2024 13:26:19
And yet none of those things can account for someone’s mental state or who they are as a person. I dunno, maybe he’s in the wrong profession. But the guy could probably find a million negative posts about him if he looked, just for trying to feed some kids and losing some form. got to have some kind of impact. I love my phone, surfing crap and playing Crossy Road as much as the next chump but I spend as much time wishing the whole lot never existed.

What a load of old bolloxology fizz.

27 Apr 2024 16:15:39
Weed, that’s your department.

 1

27 Apr 2024 17:03:51
Fizz, I saw a clip of his mum saying he’s lost a cousin and close family friend since November. As much as he frustrates the life out of me, if that’s the reason for his slump then there’s absolutely f*** all us fans can say or do. Everyone’s entitled to grieve if that’s what his issue has been. Regardless of salary and lifestyle.

 1

27 Apr 2024 17:39:53
His earnings are irrelevant to his effort.
There can be plenty of reasons for his form and apparent lack of effort.
There can be no excuse made for playing him at a cost to the side.
I would support anybody who needs time off work or counseling or help with any personal situation.
If he needs time then he should be afforded that. Take him out of the firing line until he is ready to do his job properly.

 2

27 Apr 2024 17:59:12
Blimey, I agree with the Weedmeister. That’s a rarity I know but if he is having personal/ mental issues then the club are letting the player down by continuing to play him. That said, the team, club and supporters are let down by him being picked.

 0

27 Apr 2024 18:22:48
2toms if that is the case, and it’s certainly not in the public domain as I’m aware, then of course he has a right to grieve. It doesn’t however change anything in that the club are letting him down and……. see my reply to the Weed.

The old sympathy card
Next the race card
He should pull himself out if he’s struggling
I don’t buy it for one minute
Self entitled bluffer who can’t be arsed to put a shift in
Get rid immediately.
