Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've gathered the club aren't think of sacking Jose only helping him with a DOF that would suit him specifically? Also some of the "trouble makers" may leave in January?

In a way I like this idea as I it shows that the club have learned from their mistakes and not sacking a manager because of fan discontent. Ed002's statement about Rui Costa seems interesting as it opens up that Portugese link. I feel Jose will see his contract out and maybe even go further (based on results, performances) but if we get Rui Costa as DOF does that open up the possibility of Nuno from Wolves being JMs replacement in a couple of years?

This might all be nonsense but I thought I'd say my bit.

The thing is fan discontent is justified because the performance are a shambles most weeks, the players seem disillusioned, Jose looks lost and we look like going into freefall. The board and shareholders must be concerned with the trajectory.

So sacking the manager would be because it's warranted and the majority of fans have been ultra patient until recently. There is a band wagon now though, so a new manager and DOF would be ideal for me. Along with shipping out trouble makers, or many of the players not good enough.

2.) 03 Oct 2018 13:19:53
It is justified Beast but sacking managers isn’t the United way and it hasn’t brought us any success. The plan is to bring a DOF in to work with Mourinho.

I really don’t know what the best option is, as it’s a matter of opinions. Some want him gone and I can see why but I think we should let the club plan in the long term instead of wanting short term fixes which hasn’t worked so far.

I do agree that a new manager would motivate the majority of people but for long until something like this happens again?

3.) 03 Oct 2018 13:50:15
I find it funny how often a player or manager is linked with a club due to their nationality. There are many very good Portuguese managers at the moment Marco Silva, Leonardo Jardim, Paulo Fonseca, Nuno Espirito Santo and even Villas-Boas. However, I would imagine/ hope that if Rui Costa was given the DoF role he would hire managers based on their CV and not their passport.

4.) 03 Oct 2018 13:51:31
the big question is,

if a dof comes in and trouble makers go,

will the football improve, highly unlikely, so what then?

5.) 03 Oct 2018 14:09:33
Shappy, Rui Costa as DOF could be an attractive prospect for a manager like Nuno. Obviously there are more important factors but I’m saying it’s a bonus if this happens. An example being Wenger attracting French players. Could be BS though.

Bolger, hopefully the football would improve as the DOF would bring a system in place that the manager would have to work alongside. Also would find players suited to this system rather than just big names.

Firstly, get well soon Ken. I'm sure you're very proud of your son. Puts everything in to perspective really.

A quick note on tonight's game. I just want to see an attacking performance, obviously a win would be great but to me an attacking performance is the most important. How times have changed.

So I'm not the kind of guy who wants people to lose their job but I do believe that any job is a privilege and you should perform to your best whatever your role.

The players aren't performing. They have not turned bad over night. This has been a gradual demise. At preseason JM said that the season is over (in a round about way) . He's playing weird games with woodworm by playing midfielders in defence, he's publicly slating players. Basically he's doing everything wrong when you are managing a team low in confidence.

Not knocking Scott Mctominay but he shouldn't be anywhere near starting for us. The manager should be motivating all players but especially the better ones. pogba, Sanchez, Bailly, Lukaku. Why is he praising Scott mctominay? A motivated mcT isn't going to win a game. A motivated Pogba, Sanchez etc are. This is blatant poor management.

The game has moved on and JM has not adapted. Attack will always beat defence. I hate to say this but he needs to go. We need to lay the foundations, I'm used to not winning trophies now ("real" ones) so I can do with another couple of seasons of the same. What I can't deal with is these performances and no progress, no identity, no enthusiasm, just nothing.

I'm saying what the majority are saying now, DOF is a priority, then a coach that has ideas and plays attacking football. I just want progress and I want to enjoy my team playing football. I feel bad for my son if he is growing up supporting this kind of football.

We regressed over the course of last season and have been awful at the start of this season.
It's getting worse not better which is a major concern and there are clearly issues behind the scenes .
Mc Tom and Herrera have now been picked ahead of bailly at cb so the writing is on the wall there.

Interesting that Ferdinand thinks pogba is talking for and on behalf of the players?

Third season kicking in again?

I’m assuminb Pogba will be gone in January if not, the Summer. Any suitable replacements?

He’s a bit of a prick but still a decent player.

As for manager, I would like JM to stay. If he goes I’d like Giggs. Someone that knows the club.

{Ed025's Note - lets just thank the lord that you dont have a say in the matter then kloot.. :)

Better than picking a name out a hat.

2.) 27 Sep 2018 22:13:28
I remember a while back Ed025 when I suggested that I thought Roberto Martinez would be a decent choice for the United Job because he is a decent bloke, gets on well with his players, has a good relationship with the media and reporters and plays attractive and entertaining football.
That idea got lots of negative comments due to him being not the best when it comes to defending.
I bet a lot of those people would rather have Martinez in charge now! Attacking, attractive football, scoring lots of goals, but also letting a few in. But none the less, entertaining to watch.

Oh, imagine that :)

{Ed025's Note - bobbys teams do play attractive football betty and when he came to us it was a joy to watch, a bit of a one trick pony possibly and attacking wise is as good as it gets, maybe with a top defensive coach along side him mate he would have been a lot more successful, he is a good man though and would have put smiles on the faces of the united faithful for sure even though you might not win all your games , we are having a similar dilemma with silva at the moment where we are great to watch but are shipping too many goals..

3.) 27 Sep 2018 22:41:53
Savic will be too expensive so we will probably go for him given the way we play money all.

Wiegl I lol.
Ndidi of Leicester I like as potential without the big name.
The lad diawara at Napoli I like if it isn't silly money

No.1 attainable for me though is now Moutinho. Had heard lots about him from years and followed at a distance. Have intensely followed since he came to England and he is exactly what we need. He would really be a United player. Think city want him though.

No.1 unattainable would be Saul. Very similar in that he is a United player. Class act.

I wish we went for goreskzta or however you spell but once Bayern came in that was out.
I would have liked a bit for toreirra the kid that went to arsenal bit small but tenacious I like him a lot.

I've loved jorginho for a long time but I think we would have needed sarri as manager, very particular player for a very particular manager.

4.) 27 Sep 2018 23:05:54
Moutinho? Do you mean Neves? i'd certainly push the boat out for him.

5.) 28 Sep 2018 02:01:19
Crap yes Neves.
Lol you got to forgive me. I'm drugged up and not on the good rubbish either.

6.) 28 Sep 2018 02:30:26
Yes Neves is fantastic, such a shame we can’t find these little gems though, wolves would rinse us for his signature now.

Well well,

I believe Mourinho has instilled an us against the rest mentality.

Godin or Toby would be great additions. All the others wouldn't.

Personally I think nothing will happen, and the media will slate us. Playing right in to Jose's hands.

It's great to be back.

Disagree Jose will sulk employ the same horrendous four tactics and blame it on the lack of transfers to change style. I understand we may not be able to sign worldies but there are about 20 left backs in world football better than young similar with Valencia yet we go into another season with the same crap at the back. The whole club is in a pickle from owners to manger, imagine the ripping we would be doing if this was city or Liverpool. This is going to be a painfully long season back to square 1 again.

2.) 09 Aug 2018 13:59:10
I think Darmian, Shaw, TFM, Dalot, Valencia, Young, Borthwick Jackson provide enough cover for RB and LB. CB could do with one first team replacement. Other than that we should compete, bar us losing some players (Pogba etc) Yes the situation we find ourselves in isn’t my preferred option either. However, Jose is a serial winner and serial winners adapt to situations and use them to their favour. Whether that be to save face for him and abandon ship or to rally the troops and make something great happen (which isn’t far fetched) . Who knows?

I think it’s time for Jose to stop sitting on his reputation (the good parts) and start adding to it.

Rabiot or veratti I meant lol.

{Ed002's Note - Rabiot will be out of contract in the summer and neither are of interest to the club right now.}

I would take Either of Rabiot or Pogba Plus cash for Pogba at this minute. However, tomorrow is a different day.
