Morning eds if you can answer, since your last sharkopod and update has anyone new been added/ taken off the united wish list?

Thanks.

Schnauzer

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the Yerry Mina situation - far from the perfect choice but with the financial issues surrounding others, one added somewhere down the list. Nothing has happened with Alex Sandro as Juventus have a price and don't need discussions unless that is to be met. The most significant issue is that surrounding Pogba and not being able to move him on. Right now none of the four clubs he was offered to have said that they are interested as they know the cost would be prohibitive. Mino is still looking to see if something can be done and there remains athought that Juventus might be interested but there is a significant IF - they would need to sell Pjanic and several others first, and then they could yet opt to spend the money on Verratti or Milinkovic-Savic (who they have already had a player plus cash offer rejected for). If Manchester United get stuck with Pogba then they are not in a position to look to the likes of Tony Kroos.}

1.) 31 Jul 2018 11:15:44
With that in mind ed if you have the time who are our current primary targets? For centre back is it Toby A, Maguire, Mina? Elsewhere I'm not sure.

{Ed002's Note - Try the Sharkopod.}

2.) 31 Jul 2018 12:39:01
Ed,

Just a question, do you think it's good business for United to sell Pogba and possibly replace him with Kroos?

By good business, I mean, will it be a helpful move for the club, in terms of getting the right players?

{Ed002's Note - I think selling Pogba would be good business but I think there are better options than Kroos.}

3.) 31 Jul 2018 13:33:44
And IF united do manage to sell pogba, am i right in saying its mourinho that wants kroos but the club would rather somebody else?

4.) 31 Jul 2018 13:20:27
ed02 - who would you pick? If we were to sell Pogba I would hope we went for SMS to replace him.

{Ed002's Note - Milinkovic-Savic but the price would have to drop.}

5.) 31 Jul 2018 15:03:25
I did and very fine listening it was. Sorry just being a little impatient with this window.

If Dave left would anyone take buffon for a year on a free to battle it out with romeo?

Schnauzer

1.) 02 May 2019 12:39:16
Nope, would rather have Romero between the sticks for a year with Henderson as #2 (playing Cup games) .

2.) 02 May 2019 12:40:47
What about Casillas?

3.) 02 May 2019 12:45:04
Not sure he will be over his heart attack in time singh.

4.) 02 May 2019 12:50:10
@Singh, we are trying to build up a team for the future, i would hope that we do not sign any finished players or Rejects from other clubs.

Though, wishing Iker a speedy recovery.

5.) 02 May 2019 13:02:14
Nope, we have bought too many older players looking for a big pay deal recently.

Romero is good enough to be first choice. I also have very high hopes for Dean Henderson.

So I would stick with what we have.

6.) 02 May 2019 13:02:22
I was joking guys i wouldn't go anywhere these players. We need to build for the future and not pick players towards the end of their careers.

I would happily go with Romero for next year if David leaves and then look at replacing if he isn't good for us.

On a side note i wish Casillas a fast recovery.

7.) 02 May 2019 13:36:44
Would it not be better for Henderson to spend another year on loan in the prem playing week in week out than be on our bench?

8.) 02 May 2019 16:32:49
Dean Henderson could be Foster mk2 but we should be prepared to find out.

Plus talk of Axel Tuanzebe getting his shot we'd have two lads who know the club's expectations forming the spine of the team.

9.) 02 May 2019 17:55:16
2nd choice keepers generally play less than 10 games a season, I would prefer Henderson to play 40ish games at Sheffield utd next season in the prem. Than play a mixture of Cup games for us.

10.) 02 May 2019 23:22:16
If Dave goes i'd make henderson no 1.
Watched him a lot this session in a league that's tough and he had been great.
Without any doubt he is a better keeper and better suited to be our no1 than dave was when he became no1.
Im not saying henderson will become as good as ddg but if he becomes our no1 he won't let us down he is going to be englands no1 for the next 10 years and imo unites no1 if dave goes.

Anyone else feel blanc could be perfect as our director of football?

Knows our club and its traditions, if we had sack our next manager he could step in till a new manager was appointed.

If poch has any negative its his lack of trophies, blanc can be there for advice on getting over the line.

If ole is manager and needs help with the defensive side of things who better than blanc to ask.

If zz is manager there's an obvious connection there too.

Blanc ticks loads of boxes as a DOF

Any thoughts?

Schnauzer

1.) 13 Jan 2019 22:42:43
Does he have any experience in that role though?

2.) 14 Jan 2019 01:26:14
To paraphrase Busby if you're good enough you're experienced enough.
Is my view.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 05:44:01
We cannot have a person with no DOF experience run a club like United.

4.) 14 Jan 2019 06:42:39
To paraphrase Perthredmike . is he good enough?
What do we base that on?

5.) 14 Jan 2019 09:09:59
Name a better candidate and what makes them better than blanc at doing it?

Jose making a point about how good juve cb's are and I agree but the irony is for me Lindelof was probably our man of the match.

Hindsight is wonderful and at the time I had no problem with Joses starting 11 but surely in the first half Jose must of realised our midfield was giving them too much time and space.

The easiest tactical change would of been to take matic and mata off in the 2nd half and bring on some tenacity with herrera and Fred or andreas.

I don't understand not changing what isn't working, can only think Jose was trying to make a point at the expense of actually trying to get some points from the game.

How many coaches told us lot when we were playing for our school team it doest matter if you loose as long as you did everything you can to win. I don't see us doing everything we can to win and that is indeed from top to bottom not just a one man problem but unfortunately for jose he is the easiest problem to fix.

Just my rant, this is the place to vent the frustrations of being a united fan.

Best bit of united transfer news is courtois to Madrid done. Should hopefully see that de gea contract signed.

I don't expect us to have a good season but I believe we can have a good season

So might as well live in hope till at least we are double digits behind top.

Schnauzer

1.) 08 Aug 2018 22:28:56
Hasn't De gea already signed a new contract this summer? I believe it was around June time 🤔.

2.) 08 Aug 2018 23:07:17
Damon,

No, he didn’t.

25 Jul 2018 11:47:38
Solution to uniteds transfer problems

Martial loan to spurs on the condition they loan alderweirald to us.

Then we can buy toby next season for 25m.

Martial gets game time and improves as a player and depending who's managing united next season he can come back or be sold.

Darmian plus 35m for Sandro.

Just leaves Rw, could do a Falcao type offer for reus to see if he can stay fit.

1.) 25 Jul 2018 12:20:14
Nice scenario if only it was that simple :)

2.) 25 Jul 2018 15:31:52
or we could play sanchez, martial or rashford on the right wing, get a tune out of luke shaw and pair bailly with lindelof. how mad would that be?

3.) 25 Jul 2018 16:42:09
Mancman - agreed that would be ideal but I don't see Jose doing that.

4.) 25 Jul 2018 17:09:09
Agreed Schnauzer, but then we have to wonder why. No doubt it's because he's a serial winning manager with his finger on the pulse of the squad and we are just ignorant toxic arm chair pundits who know nothing about football.

5.) 25 Jul 2018 17:09:50
I'm sure Spurs are DESPERATE to lose £40m+ on their player to have the privilege of developing one of their rivals young stars for a season lol. And Dortmund loaning their biggest name out in the hope he stays fit so United can get a cut price next season when he's 1 year less on his contract and one year plus on his age.

I agree with the club on this one. 170k a week sounds more than reasonable. If ander wants more that's his perogative.

Gds - totally agree wholesale changes can't happen our squad depth isn't good enough but resting 3 should be fine.

Killers scones - obviously the same 11 can play both games and be fine but it's in April and May you suffer. One of reasons united sometimes under SAF wasn't great in the 1st half of seasons is the rotation but part of the reason united was generally better in thd 2nd half of the season was our big rotated squad was fresher than most. Fatigue of the mind aswell as the body shouldn't be underplayed even if its only a few % off. A few %can be difference between a row z clearance and a phil jones shank into our own top corner.

Gds2 - no one is saying they can't play Saturday and then Tuesday that's why no one is suggesting to rest 11 players, people are suggesting to rest a few key players who we will need to be at 100% to beat psg. Have you seen our fixture list for then next 9 games? Think the only other games we can weaken our team are Palace and Southampton.

Fred for pogba
Dalot for young
Martial for lingard

Are the only changes I would make from the Leicester game

If and when we have a comfortable lead then sub off matic for mctominay, rashord for lukaku and herrera for pereira.

Should then have a fairly fresh pogba, rashford, matic, herrera, lingard and even though I thi k we all don't want young to play we know he will so at least a fresher young will be better than a tired young.

I think poch will be too hard to get unfortunately.

Maybe appoint howe as manager and blanc as dof? Could even maybe have stam as assistant, might sort the defense out at least.

In martials defence re tap ins that would require someone from our right hand side to square the ball to him for a tap in

we hardly ever attack down the right, when we do it's normally Ashley Young whos crossing is poor and it's going to be a cross from deep or near the by line so not a tap in style cross more a back post header job

As united attack generally down the left it means martial is involved in the build up play so thus is deeper so isn't on the defenders shoulder. As the world and his dog knows we don't have a right side the opposition usually packs our left side.

Soon as we sort the right side out I believe we will see a lot more from martial in an attacking sense at least and if not the excuse has gone.

For me gomez probably won't make it but would love him to prove me wrong.

Greenwood on the other hand is a completely different level, baring injury I have no doubts he will make at united

Chong can at least get to the level of being our 2nd choice right winger, you could argue we don't currently have a right winger so he is technically 1st choice already.
