I'm not convinced.
I'm sorry if this offends some on here because I see some sort of love in for RR. I just don't see it at all, I think RR is mid table manager at very best and let's be honest those thinking he is some sort of messiah at running a club or rebuilding a club (after this interim) the size of united are really not in real world and let's be honest who else wanted him and who can really say with hand on heart that they had even heard of much from him previously and who really wanted him!
If you could hand pick the teams you play since being appointed our fixtures we had would have been them!
I know some will say we need DM we need CB, RB etc and yes I agree to challenge we do, but let's be fair we have some very good players in a squad and if you can't mould a team out of the players we already have to have won against so many lowly teams, well I'm not sure your the one for this job!
Just look at how many goals we score, I'm not sure Ole would not have picked up more points then RR as, certainly would have scored more goals!
Some will say oh you can't blame RR our players can't score, but hang on a minute, none of these had trouble scoring anywhere else they played previously or either before RR
Come in.
He talks a good game comes across as honest but high level not in my opinion and nowhere near it I'm afraid, sooner his interim finishes the better and I doubt you will get elite coach in with him meddling from above, so goodbye and good riddance to RR I'm hoping come May.

Not sure you're watching the football games majestic. A marked improvement in play, creating a lot more chances in the process. He's been there since Christmas, not sure what you expect to be honest, the club's a mess.

Good riddance to RR? Are you okay? He's known all over and well respected amongst his peers in football as an excellent coach. He's here for a short period to steady the ship, what influence he has beyond his coaching spell is beyond any of us here but it's great to see some actual progress and plan in our play.

RR is an interim manager, whose main role is to set a structure, has had fantastic prior success in doing it. We have him as a consultant after the short term interim role. He knows what he is doing.

I have to laugh, you don’t think we will get an elite coach in with RR “meddling”. RR is respected by Klopp and Tuchel, check it out. However, I am not worried by RR setting the direction like you are, I suspect an elite coach will be more worried about meddling from Arnold, Murtough, Fletcher sitting on the bench on the shoulder of the new elite manager, Phelan still around and clueless coaches. That is meddling at a different level.

RR is working with players from 5 managers, an unbalanced set of players, mollycoddled and mismanaged by the previous manager, his centre back is not solid, almost non existent centre midfield and his centre forwards are 34 and 37.

I saw a structure first half and enjoyed the football, RR has my full support. If anyone thinks just parachuting an elite manager in solves everything, they are dreaming. We need a direction and RR can give one.

Majestic, it's totally fine that you think RR is more or less, useless. However, please allow me to point out a few things.
Solskjaer was losing more or less every match when he was sacked, including humiliations at the hands of Liverpool, City and the mighty Watford. He was clueless tactically. His purchases were absolute disaster.
With RR, the team is playing a much improved brand of football. Is it RR's fault that we have created 15 chances in each of the last two games and only scored two goals?
Is it RR's fault that Ronaldo missed a penalty against Boro and two sitters against Burnley? Also Rashford, Bruno etc all missing guilt edged chances.
RR is trying to clear the club from unwanted players. This process should've happened 5 years ago.
RR is a highly respected coach whose main job is to put a system in place to make successful in 2-3 years time. You can't possibly expect to see a finished article after 3 months in the job.

I smell a troll ?.

{Ed007's Note - Me too, Shappy - I was just waiting on a few pops at you along the the lines of "I've been reading this site for a while...." ?

Bottom line is that yes, with the players we have at our disposal we should be doing a lot better. Maybe we could do with a better centreback, or a dynamic wingback, and we will soon need another attacking option.

But make no mistake, that midfield is not even mid-table, and that's where games are controlled from. Until that's rectified with at least 2 additions we're not going to be rivalling the top three.

But I do believe when we head into the new season after whatever happens over summer, we're going to be highly optimistic of challenging those teams.

How on earth is everyone who got a different opinion to posters on here is a TROLL… grow up lads people are entitled to an opinion that’s not same as everyday posters on here, or is this a closed shop and everyone as to agree with them

In my opinion RR is not a top coach if someone could point me in the direction of his major honours maybe I will change my opinion, somehow because we been starved of anything for so long some of jumped on band wagon of RR is fantastic, it’s showing how great he is! players are bored to tears with his methods and that of his 3rd rate coaches he employed…. Great that you are all so excited about scoring 1 goal a game! You all think that the players (forwards) have all forgotten how to score all at the same time……. naivety if you think that.

Drank a bottle of wine last night watching the match thinking we were very fortunate to get Ralf to start sorting out the mess we are in, also how he has clearly started to achieve improvement and failure to see this would be very questionable. It was a very good first half performance.
By the way the wine was quite Majestic, I believe it was a fine Romanian vintage.

He’s not a top coach, he is however a top dof and club builder and can identify issues. that's why Utd hired him backwards and will not ever see the dof position. He will be gone at the end of the season and not seen from again.

Ralf is the right man in the wrong Job for us.

What I see from us lately is what we already know, we have previously overspent on limited players who do not neatly fit into a system because they haven't been bought to.

No coach in the world is going to make a top team out of these disparate parts, because these players weren't bought to fit into a team who sum is greater than the parts.

I am at the stage now where I don't really trust the club to get things right amd to make the changes required because I have lost faith with them over the last 10 plus years until they prove otherwise.

I fear rather than a reset, which is what's needed they will believe again that a couple of players here and there thrown into the mix in a poorly built squad will get them back to glory but it won't, we aren't that close.

What I need to see from the club is a clear vision and direction, I want to see clear signs of a system, a method of playing. I want to see our reserves and youths playing and learning this way to slip seamlessly into the first team when ready and I want to see players bought in who fit this style and players who don't shipped out. Not every transfer works out. But those that don't need to be gone and not held on to forever.

I don't in truth believe United are here right now but what worries me is that there isn't any sign of us even trying to get to a place to even begin this process.

2nd game in a row finishing with players on the pitch at the final whistle recruited or given debuts by 5 different managers. tells its own story of the re building task ahead.

11.) 10 Feb 2022 08:58:48
If we were'nt creating chances i'd be really woried, but if we keep creating chances like the last few games i believe the goals will come and we'll give someone a hiding and with that confidence will grow.

12.) 10 Feb 2022 08:59:29
OP is obviously a troll.
Rangnick came in mid season after the disastrous reign of Ole.

The players were under-coached with no style or pattern of play.

The last few games were remarkably better in terms of structure with attacking identity.
It takes time to instill his philosophy and players who need to adapt to it.

Don’t compare RR with Klopp, what as RR ever achieved to be warranted with comparing, that’s ridiculous
As is the players not fit enough, have you heard yourselves these are elite athletes like it or not, have you considered they are just not inspired by RR, they maybe don’t believe in what he is trying to do or just not taken in by him, maybe they just see coaching from lower league level and are not interested overly in what RR try’s to put across, maybe he’s coaching methods are antiquated or just downright boring, remember this man not coached in years and never coached elite level. Maybe that’s the problem.
