With all this paper talk about us possibly signing Ait Nouri in January ......What would people on here think about him as a signing ?

In theory he'd be a really good signing, EPL proven, great going forward, and keeps good attacking width (which we need on the left). It would depend on how much he would cost.

I think it shows how clueless the club is. They were offered the opportunity to loan him with an obligation to buy. The brain trust refused, reportedly because they wanted to save their money for preferred options next summer.
Since then, Shaw and Dorgu have been crocked. Hall signed a new contract. And the team is in relegation form. Given how desperately we need a left back, best case scenario is that City offer the player at the same price he would have been in August.

We can't go on this way
Yes you can get by with 1 or 2 of these signings going into a half decent team but we got a team full of this calibre and if we want to try improve and get back to some sort of decent level, we can't continue to buy this level of player.

I think that is the issue right there. By changing the entire midfield and the attack last season doesn't allow for the team to used to each other. last season they had a way of playing and were starting to gel and now we have throw three more into the mix.
it sometimes takes time for one or two players to gel but change whole department and it will take even longer.

Gary Neville calling out the players regarding their lifestyles etc. in defence of his buddy Carrick, and failing to see that if players are not behaving professionally and getting away with it then that's also an indictment of the manager.

We are back to the ole and Carrick holiday camp mentality. 90s and 2000s mindset when the game has moved on.
We have not evolved over the last 15 years and it will be more of the same with wilcox and howe imo.
Go with a united front of vivell and naglesmann and take a leap of faith.
A united dof and coach is crucial and a shared vision.
If one vision differs from the other you've no chance as wilcox has proved on 3 occasions and i'm not sure any coach can understand wilcox's vision.

City need to be harshly punished of course but something else I would like to see this whole episode lead to ( won't happen no doubt ), is a major review and changes in respect of football ownership, transfer fees, wages etc. The Premier League is a completely out of control runaway train and something needs to change.
I read the other day that PL clubs spent more on transfer fees in the summer window than the next 8 leagues put together. That can't be good for football.

Fueled by massive and successive injections of fiat currency debt, abetted by under-regulated corporate law, the very rich are making out like banshees, controlling politicians, bending the financial system and the law to their megalomanic interests.
Democratic governments have become largely powerless. Watched the Carrick interview just there and he looks and sounds like a beaten man. Sorry to see it from a man who has done so much for us.

Carrick will have more time I'm sure, but only he is to blame if he doesn't try anything different. If he try something and it fails, then at least he tries. But he is not doing anything to change the tide.

1. Wenger walked out the door when he finished unlike Fergie who hung around and stuck his oar into decisions like his replacement, like Ole coming in, like Ronaldo coming back. That has been a major difference.
2. Arsenal are on a much sounder financial footing than us, and have modern stadium etc. This makes it a much better environment for a manager to work in.
3. Arsenal don't have a Big Sir Jim, who's ego will mean he is constantly interfering instead of letting those appointed to roles in charge of club to do their jobs.

Its kinda pathetic, 40 something still carrying on and scoring a few tap ins in a pub league so he can get to 1000 goals. Will anyone apart from his online fan club actually care.
Meanwhile the Portugal manager had actually managed to move him on and instead of just going, he'll be back again for the next matches and will cause more hassle, because it's all about him as usual.
