Apparently Johnny Evans is coming back as kids on loan watcher (it probably has a fancier name than that ??) . Great decision good player but even better man. Loads of experience and a fantastic role model for the wee uns.

A fancier name?

I would say that he probably doesn’t want a title that makes it sound like he’s hiding in the bushes looking at kids.

Official Kiddy Watcher is a prestigious role.

I really like seeing these sort of internal appointments.
If he is passionate about the role he can do a great job. He is a young man so no point sitting back and not doing anything. He can bring great insight and experience. European teams do it a lot and often those guys rise through the ranks into more senior positions.
I know a lot of posters like him and for all the right reasons. Nice guy good pro very good player. Hope he enjoys it.

I'm not even sure we are interested in another striker. It will probably only be if Hojland goes and both he and Amorim have said he's staying.

Totally agree Shappy but it's likely a case of clubs knowing then can get a bit more out us. We probably should have settled Mbeumo first then signed Cunha. Brentford wouldn't have that power over us that they now have.

I think he only has a year left on his contract. I know we don't want a repeat of last season but maybe we should ask him to keep the faith and sign him next year for free with a substantial signing on fee?

Ed my comment was about those available ? I don't even think Martinez is truly available but van der stegen would be a stop gap and donnaruma is only using us to get a better contract. That is the leven of keeper or the next version that we need to go for and not many if any available.

arty stan

{Ed001's Note - you just need to improve on what you have - you can go for top class later once you have a steady keeper at the back that will allow you to build a side to compete at the top end.}

Bring back John O Shea
Seriously though, Martinez is a very good keeper but too emotional and sporadic. Can't see many out there available better than what we have. It's better to wait a year or six months than put a sticking plaster over it like Martinez would be.

arty stan

{Ed001's Note - is that a typo there? Don't you mean that you can't see many out there that aren't better than what you have?}

Not dumb at all Ken, even unilateral one year extensions have to have the agreement of both parties. I don't want us to walk away at all but we need to stop giving in or other clubs will continue to take the pxxs.

Or tell them no and take him for free next year. With a double loss for Brentford.

Looks like he's trying to wind the management up so they want rid of him quicker and lower the asking price to do so.
He could be a smashing player and had the potential to be a legend at the club but believes in his own hype, rather than letting the football prove it. Pogba was the same and never became the top player he so could have been. Sadly it looks like Garnacho is on the same path.

I thought we'd give Ruud longer but read he didn't want the permanent job because it would feel like he'd be betraying ETH.

I remember Ten haag addressed that too and he was told that Malacia and shaw were closer to returning than they actually were.
