Dalot and Rashford have to be dropped. No coincidence that our running stats are so far down again now he's back.
If we have to keep him then he should be sub until he's prooved himself.
I'd give Amass a run, at least he'll put the effort in. Yoro right back. Cunha left, Lacey right and Mbuemo up top until Sesko fit.
Hopefully Baleba will hit the ground running, it's a big ask though.
What a thoroughly disappointing start to the season. We look way off it.
I know it's not all down to Carrick but starting to lose confidence that he's capable of sorting this s**t show out.

I think it should be a collective blame for all of them.
Technical directors not backing Carrick with 2 or 3 more players we clearly needed.
Holland and coaching staff not getting them fit enough for new season. Sunday league stuff that, and there's no excuses.
Players not performing or making sure they're fit enough.
Minimum expected on the wages they get I would say.
And Carrick for not finding a way to win these games, having no tactical plan B and leaving it too late to change something when it's clearly not working.
They still might turn it around, not calling for his head but we need improvements across the board.

We can't waste loads of money we don't have on players to fit RA system. He'll be gone by Christmas, then what?
I like him, he has the personality but sadly this insistence on the formation that he's unwilling to change "no matter what" will be his downfall. Every manager knows exactly what they're coming up against, makes us easy to play.
No plan B.
As for last night, to change nothing for 70 minutes was criminal. What was he seeing? Mount, Hoijland, Casimero all awful and should have been off at half time.
Garnacho will leave now and can't blame him. Probably Bruno too.
Can't beat the worst Spurs team in decades, says it all really.

{Ed025's Note - for me Will Amorim has to go, nobody was expecting miracles but to regress to such depths is just not on, its not just the results mate its the manner in which you are losing and for me he is out of his depth, im all for giving managers time but there has to at least be a spark or a vision of what he can achieve....but i get nothing, do you really want money thrown on players who are going to be sticking plasters to a system that obviously doesn,t work?, get rid now and start again with a manager who knows the premier league even if its a short term contract and get back to basics, now im not a big fan of Southgate but i really think you could do a lot worse....like Amorim..

I really like Thomas frank…agree with the post and Ed’s comments. One thing though is that the comments last night, ones in recent weeks and the story’s that he offered to resign in January time make me think he wants out. The club clearly a bigger mess than he thought and he didn’t actually want to come until the summer anyway. Maybe a bit of self sabatage who knows. It’s a crap situation to be in, unfortunately we are in it way too many times.

I do agree that we've gone backwards. The complete refusal to adapt is not a strength for me, it's a flaw. But I don't think he's going anywhere, all we can do is strap in and hold on for dear life.
If he were to go I would like to see someone like Iraola. Someone who has experience of this league and has overachieved with what they've got at their disposal, not underachieves. We're bad, but no way should we have been flirting with the relegation spots.

Ed025 I hear you, I have been very vocal on here about the massive deficiencies within his coaching and it's arguably the worst we have ever seen from united barring our relegation season.
But I've had a good sleep and calmed down after that abject performance last night.
However, call me crazy, but this is THEIR guy, their choice and therefore they have to back him, allow him the window, bring in a couple of players. He has a vision and a way of playing and he is so convinced that it will work.
We have nothing to lose in giving him time, affording him that. No doubt he is a good coach and he is on a massive learning curve but I feel like the club will give him that. Anything is better than this now.
So they will sell, bring in quality, Cunha etc and next year won't be as bad. I don't believe we will hit the dizzy heights of champions League qualification ? but anything in around 4-8th and it will be progression particularly if we see a clear method of playing.
I just can't see us putting another plaster over a big gaping hole.
Leave him there, he sounds so confident that he knows what is required (I believe him) and I believe the people above him know it too. I didn't think we would suffer this much but this problem is bigger than any coach we have had over the last few years.
Amorim is young and hungry. Let him do his thing with this footballing structure in place.
{Ed025's Note - for me Angel its a case of we have made a mistake and we realize we picked the wrong guy so we are going to change it, you cant give this fella a transfer kitty to blow on players who only suit his vision of a football utopia that only exists in Amorims head mate, its actually not his fault he actually thinks he can build a successful team at United but i think we all know thats pie in the sky, this is not the time for experimentation its time to react to what is making one of the biggest clubs in the world a laughing stock mate...this is not football manager (the game)..

I also think it's a mistake Ed. I think the system he wants actually makes these players worse than they already are, it prevents natural instincts and I'm not sure all players are behind this manager or system. He has to go for me.

Who says it don’t work, whatever formation he plays if you got a forward line that can’t score a goal and a GK that’s a nightmare and slow ponderous CBs with very little in midfield, what system does that work then!
All this system blame is over the top and just a stick to beat RA with.
If you have championship quality players on huge money trying to play high level, you’re not winning anything.
It’s only Bruno and an aging Cass in this team who are at a required level, that’s ok if the other 9 could at least do a job at the required level
From day one Rasmus looked hopeless and Zirkee, Onana the same along with Ugarte, Garnacho is one trick pony nowadays, Pep would win nothing with this squad.
The reality is the players bought under ETH are woeful, no system will mask that.

The system isn’t the issue, this team has played multiple systems the fact is they are just not very good.
Other than a few there needs to be as much ruthless given to the squad as they did when they got rid of the office staff and the dinner staff to save on money.
We will be playing 1 game a week next season, that squad needs trimming down big time.

They were 4 points off 4th when RA took over, alive in 4 cup competition and over half a season remaining. We weren't great but when this system got introduced we couldn't beat anyone.

So pleased for Hojlund. Can see what it meant to him.
With Erikson coming back, Shaw back, Garnacho on the right and even Rashford starting to cross the ball more maybe now he'll get some service and show us what he can do.
Great second half performance, hopefully that is going to give us some confidence going forward. We have to build on this now, no excuses.

Not seen a player have such a release of emotion since that mad baldy lad from Newcastle kicked the be jaysus out of the advertising boards.

5 or 6 teenagers played for us yesterday 6 or 7 academy players that's pretty amazing. They showed more effort and passion than we've seen from most of what the club have blown 1.3 billion on.
OK 3 or 4 were only on for 10 mind or so, but nevertheless, it's quiet extradinary.
For me it's no coincidence that eth has fallen out or challenged most of the highest earners in the squad.

Ours were are not delivering enough value for the biggest money in the main they are not making the difference their wages demand. He needs to move them on and like he will get all off the books.

You guys read way too many things into stuff that is a nothing burger. Players like Varrane, Rash, Maguire get dropped because their form is poor. It happens at every club and most players want to play and don't like it and will not be happy sitting on the bench. Pep is a master at this and does not give a s. t
I have read so many times the managers has fav but eth does not seem to care or have fav. if you are doing the business he wants you to do, you play otherwise you are a bench warmer. He cares none for what we think and who should start or play where, evident by Mc playing almost every game recently.
Some players do look for a move and some fight their way back into the squad. Valdeverde and Rodrygo were struggling to get minutes in the second part of the season last year and form wise were poor if you watch any of the Madrid games, they are both back and starting most games.
All this stuff about Varrane and Cas going in Jan is noise and bs imo and not fringe players that you can sell and replace in Jan.
We will be busy and desperate to move Sancho and DVB as a priority in the coming window and may see a final decision on greenwood. some additional loans out depending on what our injuries look like is probably on the cards. The only thing that would change that is if we are forced to move on a long term target that we may lose to another team that we deem a must get.
Todibo is a player that seems to get mentioned a lot and may force us to make a move although personally prefer Tapsoda from Leverkusen but I suspect very expensive.
Come summer it will be a different story and I suspect we will see an overhaul.

Seeing how much it meant to Hojlund just highlights how much pressure he must be under to perform. He clearly is trying his best and giving everything, through a combination of poor service and his own for fluctuating (probably due to pressure and confidence) he hasn't been able to find the back of the net in the EPL until the Villa game half-way through the season.
I'm so pleased for him, and hope he can maybe go on a bit of a scoring run now.
The frustrating thing is that for the most part he's done all the right things. He works hard and presses well from the front, his off the ball movement is good. But so many times I've seen our players either not pass to him, or more frustratingly nip in front of him to steal the shot practically off his toe (more often than not missing as well) . McTominay did it the other week with his headed goal, literally ran in and took the ball off of Hojlund's forehead.
It's like the team don't know how to play with him yet, they aren't releasing the ball when he makes his runs, or they are too focused on cutting in and shooting themselves ignoring Hojlund unmarked in a better position, or when a ball is played into him someone cuts it out to shoot themselves.
I can't imagine how frustrating that must be for him, especially with the pressure of a massive transfer fee hanging over him. Although the way he celebrated that goal shows it has been eating away at him. Even better that his first goal was the winner in a 3-2 turnaround. A deserving goal.

He has all the attributes to be a top keeper. In some ways following Onana makes it easier for him. He's allowed the odd mistake just not 2 a game.

Blind rarely let's us down. What he lacks in pace he makes up in positioning and reading of the game. Also tidy on the ball.
A very good back up and utility player for me.

I think they have both done well in a difficult time and with a poor set up that was constantly changing. Heaven has looked really good for his age, Yoro looks to have lost some confidence but he looked really promising before in a back 4. I'm glad we have them both, they'll come good.

JD I hear what you are saying and you are right to some degree. It's the big picture, we need to keep looking at that.
But he isn't helping himself with performances and set ups like that.
We were truly awful. I've always defended him but last night was a bit of a turning point for me, there are no excuses for that.
Hope it's a kick up the arse for all involved.
