Thanks in advance if any of tge eds are in the know and can answer the following.

Have united turned their attention to weigl as a matic alternative?

And do you know what dortmunds asking price would be?

And should i have satay or shardee for tea?

Thanks.

good ole days

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to BD for Weigl from Manchester United and the Matic transfer will eb able to go ahead once Chelsea have finalised dealing with another matter.}

1.) 06 Jul 2017 09:31:45
Thanks ed

On Matic is he an alternative to Fabinho?

{Ed002's Note - The original interest in Fabinho is as a right back and that dates back to when there was interest from JM at a previous club.}.

2.) 06 Jul 2017 10:11:56
Interesting. I hope Lukaku, Morata and Matic all get over the line. Signing Perisic would give us the option of playing with more width at times. Starting to think we will be playing narrow diamond this year with width from fullbacks.

3.) 06 Jul 2017 13:22:28
Hope so fresh.

4.) 06 Jul 2017 14:53:49
Ed02. Speaking of rb's are we still looking at semedo? If so do you happen to know if any discussions have taken place

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

Quetion for both eds and fans. With victor signing is that's united business done in the cb area in terms of incomings? I saw a quote alleged from keane saying he decided against coming to uscas wecwanted 2 cbs. If we do buy another do you think it means we are looking to play 3 at the back? Lindleof baily vvd for example with jones blind and rojo as back up?

good ole days

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more to give options, as both Bailly and Lindelof provide right back cover. There is likely to be another centre half arriving.}

1.) 15 Jun 2017 11:11:33
I've seen john terry linked with us, please tell us that's not going to happen and it's just lazy mourinho/ terry paper link?

2.) 15 Jun 2017 11:13:12
Thanks for response ed. Who would you reckon the additional cb target is going to be? I don't think there are any of the dharkopod cb's left if keane has ruled himself out and after gettimg lindelof i wouldt think we would spend big on a vvd type cb.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know off the top of my head. It is a left sided centre back that is being looked for though.}

3.) 15 Jun 2017 13:50:21
if we are looking for left footed CB's then Laporte would be top of my list. It is a shame we are not looking at him.

4.) 15 Jun 2017 14:17:24
Rojo and Blind?

5.) 15 Jun 2017 14:49:10
Bailly, Lindelof, Rojo, Keane, Tuanzebe and perhaps Blind seem to be our options for next season then.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 12:09:11
Didn't ed002 mention David Lopez on the sharkopod as someone we could look to.

7.) 15 Jun 2017 17:08:48
Discount dave is lopez a lefty? I have no idea to be honest.

For those that watch uniteds youth. Who are the next batch ie not to play for the 1st team yet that you would say could make the grade? And are any of them wingers?

good ole days

1.) 04 Aug 2017 10:17:21
Gomes us the obvious one that stands out in the youth set up although he already made his first team apperance.

2.) 04 Aug 2017 10:26:59
Having watched him at the milk cup i'd have to say Mason Greenwood looks one hell of a talent. Only 15 but he looked to have so much confidence, an excellent touch and pace with the ball at feet. Played from the right coming in on his left, can supposedly play as a number 10 as well. He has just been selected for an under 19 tournament too.
Caolán.

3.) 04 Aug 2017 12:40:30
Callum Gribben.

4.) 04 Aug 2017 14:28:17
Second hendonred.

5.) 04 Aug 2017 14:32:57
Gomes is the one. Very surprised mourinho didn't take him on tour.

6.) 05 Aug 2017 08:48:19
Gomes is someone I mentioned on here several years ago and has already made his debut. I want to have a look at Chong, he had a long period out with an injury last season but could be an interesting talent.

With neymar to psg looking more and more likely you would think psg will be willing to listen to offers for a couple of there players to balance the books.

Name upto 3 psg players you would make offers for and how much you would bid/ hope to get them for.

good ole days

1.) 02 Aug 2017 10:05:49
Verratti, Aurier, Draxler. £7 billion on each because it's not my money.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 10:28:27
Verratti I guess would be the one everyone wants, but apparently he wants Barca, so PSG counter by trying to trigger Neymars release clause, Neymar hates Messi and wants out and so we have this summers transfer saga. for once a summer transfer saga that doesn't involve United, although if you read some reports United are the only ones who would be willing to pay the fees PSG want for Verratti, and to top it off Raiola is now on the scene. Sometimes there is more drama off the pitch than on it.

3.) 02 Aug 2017 10:45:37
Ben Arfa
Di Maria
Jese

Would pay ten British pounds and two medium sized ducks.

4.) 02 Aug 2017 10:49:10
PSG will have to sell a few players to balance the books so to speak. Otherwise they will find themselves the wrong side of the FFP regulations.

Aurier is obviously one they are prepared to let go. I would expect at least one of Lucas Moura, Draxler, Di Maria, Pastore and Ben Arfa to be made available. Krychowiak is another who could be made available. There has been talk of both Verratti and Rabiot being available, but I am a little more skeptical about them. Matuidi looks like he will be shown the door.

My guess would be Matuidi, Aurier, one of Lucas Moura or Di Maria and possibly Krychowiak. Could all make way for Neymar.

5.) 02 Aug 2017 11:24:48
I'd happily see us go for Verratti, Krychowiak or Matuidi. All different but excellent midfielders.

Aurier looks likely to be our next signing and while he's a good player, he seems to be a complete arse so not going to be my favourite signing.

6.) 02 Aug 2017 11:31:04
Matuidi definitely.

7.) 02 Aug 2017 11:56:43
Wouldn't be surprised to see Arsenal go for Draxler. I would like Moura for our right wing.

8.) 02 Aug 2017 12:49:59
Verratti because he is world class, Matuidi because he is also an excellent CM with a great work rate, and Aurier, because he makes sense, though I am in favor of Fosu-Mensah getting his chance.

9.) 02 Aug 2017 13:43:36
Neymar. Give them 400m for a quick double their money and they might accept.

10.) 02 Aug 2017 13:49:27
Matuidi swap with Fellaini
Veratti swap with smalling
Aurier swap with Shaw.
Sounds reasonable to me.

11.) 02 Aug 2017 17:30:11
Veratti aside, aren't the rest PSG cast offs they'd happily aee leave? As many ouayersmon here state, why would we want somebody else's rejects? It does it not count for PSG?

If Matuidi was all that, PSG would Do everything to keep a French star in its ranks.

{Ed004's Note - I would look at Aurier or Verratti personally. Both are excellent players}

12.) 03 Aug 2017 04:16:34
Schmid, I'd rather keep shaw than sign aurier. Shaw has the natural ability to be one of the best in the world. The only problem is his injury record and apparent poor attitude. There were signs towards the end of the season that something had clicked and his attitude may no longer be a problem. So with a bit of luck he can get an injury free run and fulfil his potential. By all accounts aurier doesn't have the best attitude himself and any player can suddenly get one big injury that sparks another and another and another. So I don't think he'd be a better player to have personally.

25 Jul 2017 15:26:12
Im bored. Straight swap jones for wilshere any takers? One injury plague for another but both still young both not realised their potential but a change of club you never know might do the trick?

good ole days

1.) 25 Jul 2017 16:46:17
I'd rather swap smalling.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 16:48:06
should just have stopped at i'm bored.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 17:56:57
Did you say i'm bored or i'm mad😂😂.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 18:04:22
I would.

I'd swap Jones, Smalling, Fellaini for Wilshere and Ox.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 18:48:39
Ox is upping his career prospects with a move to stoke beast 😂.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 23:04:37
I'd swap my Shawthing for the Beast.

If the eds are available and in the know.

Has a fee for morata been agreed? Think its the star that said it has now been agreed.

Cheers in advance for any info you can muster.

good ole days

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any agreement right now.}

1.) 04 Jul 2017 10:57:11
Thanks ed.

2.) 04 Jul 2017 12:16:20
It was a report emanating from a Spanish paper or something that the English papers are now also reporting, I posted yday £61.5m, this week, let's see how reliable the original source is.

08 Jun 2017 12:11:19
In the spirit of election day a Quick poll. Morata for 78m or belotti for 87m?
Morata click thumbs up
Belotti click the thumbs down

I say belotti as there are other real players i would want and they will be more likely to sell if they haven't got 78 m in their pockets.

Arsenal were playing some of their best football when cazorla was plaing in the middle dictating play. Mikki or mata could do a similar job. Not saying to do it just there are loads of other options already within the squad. So as people have said its better to get the target you want or wait till one is available.

Hart schmeichel etc are not an improvement on romero. Only 2 prem keepers i would consider as improving on romero is coutois and loris. Definately would prefer woody to concentrate on other areas.

I would straight swap rooney and or fellaini for barkley. Putting aside how good you think barkley is it would make finacial sense. In this market you could sell barkley on for at least 30m next year.

I agree with most that barkley has been overrated in the past but he isn't average. He contributed to 13 league goals last season that's more than most of our squad members managed.

Never hurts to have extra attacking options.
Jose is man enough to drop ibra if he wants.

What i would do though is always play ibra in a 2 uptop when he plays. We can still play quick football with ibra but he needs a fast player along side for not only a quick pass but for that player to play on the defenders shoulder so
To stretch the game giving everyone more space.

Just a shame martial didn't come on. Would of loved to see rash Rom and mart as a three pronged attack really go at them with pace for the last 20.

Dont disagree with most of what you say but uniteds plan B/ C should be to bring on a hernandez/ solskjaer to finish a team off or a tricky if not frustrating nani type to hopefully do something special or a tenacious tevez type to hound and force a mistake. Fellaini should be plan D when you're in dispair and to be honest i would rather giver tfm 10 games this season than keep fellaini for plan d. Just my opinion of course. Would never boo a player that's pathetic and just not helpful for anyone. Nothing wrong with criticism of players or are we to stop praising them aswell?

But not having millions doesn't mean you have to play or enjoy tonk it to a big lad football. there's plenty of teams in the lower leagues with no coin that try to play decent football.
