Hi Ed002

Hope all is well. With Christmas around the corner, can I be cheeky and ask if we could have a transfer window update on our targets 🥺.
If the toxics are still about and you aren't doing it that's absolutely fine! Just wanted to try.
Hope you have an amazing Christmas and new year as well as the other Ed's and posters! 🤗.

{Ed002's Note - I will do something for you before the end of the year.}

1.) 22 Dec 2020 16:57:27
That’s brilliant!
Thank you ever so much :)
Have a lovely evening.

2.) 22 Dec 2020 18:55:07
Thanks a lot Ed002.
Eagerly waiting for the updates.

3.) 22 Dec 2020 21:02:12
Thank you Ed002 that will be a Christmas treat 👌

Wishing you and all the Eds a merry Christmas. Even Ed047 😉.

{Ed002's Note - And you.}

4.) 22 Dec 2020 21:34:02
Thank you so much Ed002, what a wonderful Christmas present. Thank you. Hope you and your family have a safe and very happy Christmas (and same to all other brilliant Eds who give us so much of their precious time)

{Ed002's Note - Thanks. I wish you all well.}

5.) 23 Dec 2020 11:28:03
Thank you to all the Eds and fans who keep this site going. Marvellous.

One thing I think deserves mentioning is the reaction from the whole team after the final 11. Mourinho is making a team that wants to fight, has the fire in their belly to win and most importantly, team chemistry. He's getting rid of the deadwood, he's making Utd about everything we lost the past few years. Passionate to thrive and privileged to Don the red shirt. The only way is up from here. We'll be coming back as Strong as ever. Great work.

1.) 16 Dec 2016 17:44:42
Great post, mate.

I have never felt so positive about our future.

2.) 16 Dec 2016 23:58:34
Post of the year?

3.) 17 Dec 2016 13:35:07
Stop being so positive! It's not good enough and won't be tolerated on here.

04 Apr 2014 16:15:13
Hi Ed, has there been any interest in lucas moura, and if not do you think there would be if he was made available? he seems such an amazing player, similar to valencia but more dirc wt and not 1 dimensional. I think we need someone direct, as chelsea have hazard, arsenal walcott and city navas. he'd be my pick for a winger if we can't get reus and at only 21 with low wages, he could be a bargain

{Ed002's Note - Not from Manchester United.}

1.) By direct i'm assuming you mean running at full backs etc into the box? If so then may I remind you of a young fella called Adnan Januzaj!

2.) I know we have adnan but bringing in moura ASWELL would be frightening! we need to be interested!

3.) Difference being though, lucas has pace and so would be great for counter attacks. there was a rum he did against marseille showing his blistering pace check it out on youtube

27 Jan 2014 18:14:59
dont be surprised to see a bid being put in for vidal, most likely after cardiff. watch out for it

1.) I'm guessing that's after the game and not after Cardiff put a bid in first? ;)

2.) I can't see a bid going in myself, if juve signed a replaced and gave us the nod yes but as they haven't no chance

18 Jan 2014 21:40:00
apparently rvp and rooney in the squad tomorrow. is someone learning the mindgames ;)

1.) 18 Jan 2014 21:59:29
I would love it to be true but can't see it, maybe Rooney has a slight chance but no more

2.) As much as I would love it to be true both are not in the squad so there no chance of them being on the bench

So Everton v City postponed at city's request.

City admitted their bubble was compromised, so why aren't they being reprimanded? All other teams had to play with what they have with a short rest period in between.

But not city, they get awarded with an extra break despite their fault.

Money doesn't win you leagues but it can help tilt it.

1.) 28 Dec 2020 17:35:49
Peps teams have always had a "win at all costs" mentality. From questionable doctor's at Barcelona. Diving, systematic fouling. He's always found a way to win along with playing fantastic football.

And let's not forget be was found with performance enhancing drugs in his system as a player.

You are right though, they should be made play a reserve team if it was in fact their fault. But I wouldn't put it passed him to fund a loophole to get his players a rest.

2.) 29 Dec 2020 00:48:53
Games are only being played at the goodwill of the playing staff and coaching teams, who know they must mix more than the general public are at this time.

When an outbreak is found the clubs must be able to isolate to get things under control. It is not like it is their first couple of players. They already had two potential first team players out. Now they have more, discovered on the day of the match.

Everything is not cheating. The epl is doing it's best to put on a spectacle for fans stuck at home, as best they can.

Cut them some slack guys.

3.) 29 Dec 2020 08:11:58
Not sure it will benefit them, their game with Chelsea is now in doubt as well as with us the week after. Three fixtures to be crammed into an already compacted season will see them playing more games at the end of the season when players are tired.

27 Dec 2020 18:26:05
So Liverpool drop points. Makes that point at Leicester feel less like 2 points dropped. No one would've expected that today. Too early to dream? Really exciting season.

1.) 27 Dec 2020 18:35:56
5 of top with game a game in hand, not bad for late December.

2.) 27 Dec 2020 18:42:22

Actually it’s more frustrating because if we had won we would be two points closer.

3.) 27 Dec 2020 18:43:48
Imagine where we would be if we didn't have a defensive manager in charge.

4.) 27 Dec 2020 18:49:36
Some are never happy.

5.) 27 Dec 2020 19:05:20

Do you think SAF was ever satisfied?

6.) 27 Dec 2020 19:13:27

I don't see it that way. We played before liverpool so if anything, it was an opportunity lost for them to move further ahead.
We drew, against a very good leicester team and the fact we should've won, shows how we are improving.

I was gutted we drew, with the expectation liverpool were going to move further ahead. But they didn't. That to me, makes the draw less difficult to take. End of the day, it's a points game

We are no way the finished article but signs are positive.

7.) 27 Dec 2020 19:41:56
I think this post shows the different ends of the spectrum of how people see things. Liverpool dropping points today is obviously very interesting for the title race, I think after the big win last week everyone just assumed they would run away with the league now, but palace had a few chances in the first half in the game and Liverpool were extremely clinical. Today they weren’t so much and paid for it. It’s good that nobody is running away with the league, I think we will know after the game at Anfield in 3 weeks if we are actually in the title race or not.

8.) 27 Dec 2020 19:52:45
But I bet he was happy when the scouse dropped points.

9.) 27 Dec 2020 20:09:06

We all are.

10.) 27 Dec 2020 21:51:00
TBF I can't belive that we are within touching distance from the top of the league. irrespective of people's thoughts of the manager we seem to be overachiving on what a lot of posters seemed to think at the start of the season.
Most posters are deeming Ole as unqualified and insufficient for a top club, just imagine if he works out his own inadequacies. 🤔😂.

11.) 27 Dec 2020 22:49:53
What a weird reply jred.

19 Dec 2020 06:20:47
Let's start a debate.

You need to take 1 Cb out the team. Lindelof or Maguire who you picking?

For me I'd take out Maguire. Overall probably the better defender physically but his overall game is so poor and I think that's what will cost us.

A captain is meant to get the best out of everyone, but Maguire seems to get the worst out of everyone as we have to compensate his flaws.

E. g ole playing 2DMs is not because I think he's scared to attack. It's clear he doesn't trust the defence. Our attackers have the ability to play some beautiful attacking football. But are they being restricted due to the lack of trust in defence?

It's sad because I think this is the best chance for us winning the league and if we are in touching distance in January, then we should go all out for Atleast a cb. Our midfield and attack are good enough but as we know, titles are won on a solid defence which we are so far away from it's unreal.

1.) 19 Dec 2020 07:50:52
Taking either out a bonus. Lindelof’s aerial weaknesses are regularly exposed. Tuanzebe needs more game time and will improve whoever he plays with. If we want a higher line then it has to be Maguire that goes. Turns like an oil tanker.

2.) 19 Dec 2020 10:41:54
I would partner the new CB with lindleof. He is getting better aerially and he is has been much better than McGuire on the ball, positioning and leading the back line. Plus our captain needs a kick up the back side to up his game. Playing every minute is not going to do that. Maybe dropping him will.

On a side note, really gutted about Tuanzebe being jbjured so often. He would have made an excellent partner for Lindelof or McGuire.

3.) 19 Dec 2020 12:19:52
Maguire for EPL and Lindelof for Europe.
Maguire lacks pace and Lindelof gets bullied.

Tuanzebe's injuries are frustrating. After having a great game against PSG, we have hardly seen him.
Same with Bailly, often injured.

We don't gave any serious competition for Maguire and Lindelof.

4.) 19 Dec 2020 14:50:17
I'd be looking for a partner for Lindelof personally rather than Maguire. However, I accept that given the fees paid and the fact of the captaincy the reality is we will be looking for a partner for Maguire.

For me all of Maguire's best traits are physical, what he lacks, other than pace, is a good reading and understanding of the game. You can survive easily enough without pace as long as your reading and positioning are good. Like Paolo Maldini said "if you need to make a tackle then you've already made the mistake".

Lindelof's only weakness is aerially he can get bullied. However, that is an easy fix. Sometimes it's better to accept that you aren't going to win the first ball. What you can do is use your body to make it as difficult as possible for the opposition to win the ball cleanly, then focus on winning the second ball.

5.) 19 Dec 2020 15:15:18
Both - play tuanzebe with a new cb and we could be sorted.

6.) 19 Dec 2020 16:49:21
It's been OGS reluctance to play Tuabzebe aswell. Both Lindelof and Maguire are garbage. If they were a CB pairing at another club, we would all be laughing at them, that is the honesr truth.

25 Oct 2020 21:16:37
How no one has ever gone in for Jamie Vardy I will never know.

Might be an unpopular opinion but for me he is one of the best prem strikers of all time.

Think he would've been a shrewd signing if it were possible. Oh well, nice to see arsenal lose and the prem is again wide open.

1.) 25 Oct 2020 21:57:36
Arsenal went in for him and he rejected the move a couple of years ago. Maybe he didn't want to move.

2.) 25 Oct 2020 23:57:58
He is a real goal scorer. I was doubting him at the beginning of the season simply becuase i thought he can't have another season like the last five and it has to stop eventually. But he just keeps doing it i think he has been great and is a real throw back to the 80's and 90's type of cf.
He was very close to signing for arsenal but backed out at the last minute. I am surprised that nobody else tried since then.
He bit like andy cole no matter how many he scored he never got a run for england either.

3.) 26 Oct 2020 07:26:50
Yeah, incredible player. A loyal one too.

4.) 26 Oct 2020 09:19:53
He's an interesting player, he has good appreciation of space and gold movement along with excellent finishing. He is also a character, and apparently doesn't follow tactical direction very well, preferring to play his own way.

It is his perceived lack of professionalism and inability to adjust his game to fit into a bigger team tactical plan which might have limited his chances at moving to a bigger club. These are things that you are supposed to learn when you are brought up through an academy, which is something Vardy never had.

Personally I think staying at Leicester has been the best outcome for him. At Leicester he is the star and the team is set up in a way that gets the best out of him. A move to a "bigger" club would have likely seen him take a back seat, been an impact sub or have to alter his game to fit into his new teams style aesthetic. Which might have been beyond him or at least detrimental to his game.

You see with the national team he isn't as effective and as such only played as an impact sub.

5.) 26 Oct 2020 15:06:44
Mrs Vardy stepped in because she wanted to stay in Leicester and likes her current status at the King Power stadium. Jamie did what he was told.

6.) 26 Oct 2020 18:25:12
I like vardy and I'm happy for him that he has stayed at Leicester. They took a gamble on him and it worked out and he showed them some loyalty back, something which Is rare in the modern day footballers. I think he made a wise choice.

20 Oct 2020 22:04:18
Excellent game with tactics executed perfectly, credit where it's due, ole got it spot on.

AWB, De gea were impressive and showed signs of their top form. Hope it continues.

Also shoutout to Axel. Always hear he has the potential to be a starter but never seen him play much.

To come in against PSG after so long out, he looked solid, kept mbappe and neymar out with ease. Could be very important for us this year.

Onto Chelsea!

I agreed Giggsy. CSF difference is Pogba didn’t want to come back to England. He wanted Madrid. Sancho wants to be back in England at Chelsea but going to Utd is not much of an adaptation to his preference.

He’ll be backup to AWB and Dalot sold. Brandon is still in the same position if not a better position. Backup on his favoured side.

Hence the need for a cb. Sorry but to say we can’t use an attacking fullback because our 80m cb gets exposed says it all. We shouldn’t accommodate for maguires weaknesses fgs.

Liverpool - VVD
City - KdB

Fred had a good second half but he was utter dross first half. The introduction of pogba made him look better as we had more control with the ball. MOTM for me was easily Lindelof.

Martial would do extremely well at Dortmund imo. Suits his game.

{Ed077's Note - They are not looking at AM. They have an existing option on a young striker which they will look to exercise should Haaland leave.}

Fully agreed on shaw.

My only concern is why on earth do we keep playing 4-3-3 when we have no wingers and martial/ greenwood do nothing on the flanks? I get playing players based on form but Donny must be thinking how on earth he doesn’t get minutes when he sees some of the players consistently picked.
