Evening Ed,
How likely is a move for Semenyo in January? There is not usually much movement in January but it does seem like it's an opportunity that would be attractive to a few teams if it is true that there will be a fixed fee in place.
How he would fit in would be another discussion.
{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any likely attempt by United in January. I would think there are other priorities.}
1.) 16 Dec 2025 20:53:41
What are those priorities and targets, please.
{Ed001's Note - central midfield, wing-back and centre-back.}
2.) 16 Dec 2025 22:16:39
Ed001 Semenyo I'd assume would be targeted for wing back. Amorim has mentioned wanting an attacking left sided wing back several times.
3.) 17 Dec 2025 08:40:16
Can you please provide likely targets by name?
{Ed001's Note - Midfield: Gomes, Barrios, Anderson, Sadiki, Smit. Interest seems to have cooled in Baleba, no doubt down to his poor season.
Wing-back: I don't have any names but I know that Dorgu is seen as a disappointment and a replacement is being sought.
Centre-back: Murillo, Bastoni, Guehi, Diomande, still interest in Branthwaite though his injury history is likely to put paid to any move materialising, Scalvini, Lacroix and Silva.
I am sure there are probably more of interest, they are just who I know of that you have been watching.}
4.) 17 Dec 2025 10:26:12
Thank you for the names Ed001, very much appreciated!
Have often been on the Liverpool site and enviously seen the ITK regular updates there.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. There is a fair bit of crossover luckily, so often players LFC watch are also being tracked by United. So I can sometimes get bits from people who are talking about Liverpool interest, because they will say what other teams they know of are keen.}
5.) 17 Dec 2025 13:45:13
Seems like with the interest in centre backs means Martinez and Shaw aren't seen as long terms solutions at the club with the amount of left sided players in the list.
I'd love to see Anderson in the midfield along side kobbie and Bruno if we got to 433.
6.) 17 Dec 2025 19:39:33
Appreciated, thanks. Keep it up, . please.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}
7.) 18 Dec 2025 15:54:57
I do know how likely a move for Semenyo would be in January for us, but I think he'd be a phenomenal signing if we could get him.
We lack real pace in behind when Mbeumo isn't playing, which is something Semenyo would bring.
He is also capable of playing right across the front line and more importantly I think he'd really suit playing in the wingback roles as Amorim ideally likes them to play. Effectively as wingers high and wide, but with a good work rate to help out defensively but they aren't supposed to be defenders.
If you look at the options we currently have in Amad, Dalot, Mazraoui, and Dorgu. The only one who has consistently performed well under Amorim is Amad, who is the only one who isn't naturally a defender. That's not a coincidence, it's due to the role they are supposed to play in this system. It naturally suits a more offensive player.
Amad on the right and Semenyo on the left, with Cunha, Sesko and Mbeumo in-between them would be utterly frightening. Although to balance that out we would need to have two proper defensive midfielders in the pivot. No Bruno Fernandes with that front line, but then would you need him with that front line? Probably not.
8.) 18 Dec 2025 19:35:20
Is playing on the left to Semenyo's strengths?
I think he is a quality player, but his best football comes from playing on the right. I really don't want to see players being bought and played out of position, or to accomodate other players.
{Ed001's Note - he can play all over the front line, he has played equally up front and on left and right.}
9.) 19 Dec 2025 07:25:58
I think he has scored more from the left than the right agree with ed he is equally effective from either side and gets played from both.
I think he is so good that he could probably play in goal and be effective.
10.) 19 Dec 2025 08:52:53
Cheers ED001.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}
11.) 19 Dec 2025 12:59:43
ED001,
Do. ypu think Semenyo is best suited to a 343 or 433?
{Ed001's Note - I think he can play either equally well - so long as he is at the top end. Playing wing-back would require him to learn a new role altogether and there is no telling how he would get on until he is tried in it.}
12.) 19 Dec 2025 13:17:36
Thanks ED001.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome MH.}
13.) 19 Dec 2025 20:57:35
Hi Ed,
I noticed Wharton is not listed above, has interest cooled or was it never there?
{Ed001's Note - from what I understand he is off the table in January, I would expect him back on the list for the summer.}
14.) 21 Dec 2025 03:40:14
Cheers Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}
15.) 21 Dec 2025 12:23:44
Ed, if you don't mind. Who do you think we should be looking at? I know that’s not an easy one to answer, but I’d be interested in what type of player/players you think we really need?
{Ed001's Note - your biggest priority, imo, is central midfield. Especially as you are often outnumbered in there due to the tactical shape you employ. So I would go for a Bruno Guimaraes type. I don't think he is going to leave Newcastle, but you need someone like him with drive and desire. Elliott Anderson seems the next best option. I do like Ederson of Atalanta too and Santos of Chelsea I think would grow into an excellent player given a run of games, rather than dicked about like he has been there. I still think Gomes or Andre would step up a level if rescued from Wolves and would both be excellent options. A player like Gallagher could be a useful option - if cheap - as a rotation option. His energy could help make up for the lack of numbers in there, but it would depend on who is next to him. You could get away with a Bruno Fernandes better with Gallagher there, as he wouldn't need to be creative and would do a lot of the legwork to allow the Portugese to play more. The two that have particularly impressed me this season are Miley and Sadiki, though Miley has been playing right-back lately, he has still been a standout for the Toon. Sadiki just always impresses me.
Wing-back is a difficult one, really depends how attacking Amorim wants to go. It is a left sided one you need imo, as Dorgu is dreadful. The problem is that there are so few left-sided options, which is why Citeh ended up with the entirely average Ait-Nouri. Maatsen would be good if he could be prized away from Villa. Lewis-Skelly would be good too - might be worth an ask as he is not getting much game time this season.
Centre-back, the obvious are ones like Schlotterbeck, Murillo and Bastoni. Esteve of Burnley has been impressive this season, I have to say. He might be worth a look at.}
16.) 22 Dec 2025 11:53:47
Thanks Ed, appreciate that.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
06 Jan 2023 12:20:05
Hi Ed, quick one on Vincent Aboubakar rumours.
Got any foundation or nonsense?
{Ed002's Note - Vincent Aboubakar (S) Al-Nassr are willing to let the 30 year old leave on loan after goals have dried up. Fenerbahce would like to take him back to Turkey. Interest of Besiktas has gone even though Pini has a good relationship with them. I am not aware of interest from Manchester United and it makes little sense to me.}
1.) 06 Jan 2023 13:00:01
Thanks Ed. I guess I am just waiting for our Ighalo esq striker signing which this rumour had a strong smell of.
Glad it's likely nonsense.
2.) 06 Jan 2023 15:31:02
What is Ighalo up to this January?
3.) 06 Jan 2023 16:45:26
Scoring tap ins and doing backstroke in a swimming pool full of wonga!
03 Jun 2021 19:35:11
Evening Ed,
If you have time.
Been reading a few more murmurs of Trippier being a strong possibility. Any update on that?
Also been reading that there may be a De Gea + cash for Oblak situation on the table but that depends on Henderson been sold. Does this have any validity?
{Ed002's Note - Keiran Trippier (RB) Atletico will sell. They are likely hoping for Everton interest as well as Manchester United but that may have left with CA.
Jan Oblak (G) PSG will offer an option if available.}
1.) 03 Jun 2021 20:30:12
Thanks a lot for that Ed. Much appreciated.
2.) 04 Jun 2021 09:04:10
Trippier would be excellent for us.
For those games where we play against a 5-4-1 and rely completely on Bruno or Pogba to do something special, Trippier’s delivery would be invaluable.
No brainer IMO.
3.) 04 Jun 2021 09:32:29
He isn't very good. IMO he is overrated.
4.) 04 Jun 2021 14:20:42
Solid EPL proven RB who is quick, works hard and has an excellent cross on him. At 30 years old he'll offer a great rotation option with AWB for a couple of years. While with a bit of luck AWB might learn some of Trippier's attacking traits and improve his all round game.
5.) 04 Jun 2021 18:03:18
2 months ago you posted this shappy changed your mind again again again again again?
Secondly, I find signing a RB frankly ridiculous in itself. In the past 4 years we have spent 20m on Dalot and 50m on AWB both primarily RB's. We also have Williams who is naturally a RB and Ethan Laird who is doing very well on loan.
Why spend money on a RB who isn't better than AWB when we have Dalot, Williams and Laird already at the club who fulfil that role?
I just think its madness and further proof of how poorly run we are as a club.
6.) 04 Jun 2021 20:25:51
I think Trippier is a good option to be fair. Prem proven with Spurs and Burnley before that. Much more attacking edge than AWB so gives a different option. I think if Dalot was going to stay we would have know about it by now. He was a Mourinho buy when clearly we prioritised the wrong 'young Portuguese defender' when you consider we were linked with Ruben Dias around same time period. Another great CB option we let go to a rival!
7.) 06 Jun 2021 10:15:05
The first question is how we spent £50m on AWB if he doesn’t fully meet with what Ole wanted? 2. Why can his attacking not be improved by coaching? 3. Dalot was one of the most highly thought of young right fullbacks in Europe, how did we not coach him better? 4. Williams has the United DNA and all that, would accept being back up, so why ignore him? 5. Laird.
So great idea to spend our money and buy another right back. Lastly, is Trippier one of the 3 main purchases? Trippier, Heaton and who is the last?
11 Aug 2020 21:14:04
Looking through Uniteds alternative options to J. Sancho.
F. Chiesa doesn't seem to keen on a move.
F. Torres has moved on.
Are we still considering the 'risky but viable' Under Ed002 or has there been additions to the list of alternative targets?
Coman on loan is the other I remember being mentioned along the way.
{Ed002's Note - Chiesa will likely move but to elsewhere. Torres has gone to Manchester City. I would not hold your breath about Coman. A third party "representing" Ousmane Dembele has spoken with Manchester United and is trying to get a discussion going with Barcelona.}
1.) 11 Aug 2020 21:49:34
Thanks for that 002, can you see O. Dembele wanting to move to the EPL, more importantly, to Manchester?
I now its not a question you can answer easily but thanks in advance for any extra info . if there is any.
{Ed002's Note - Ousmane Dembele knows that his time is up in Barcelona and that options are few. Barcelona have him on their lengthy list for sale or trade and he could be the only way they could do something with Neymar this summer. There is no reason to assume a move to England would be out of the question - perhaps even a move to the grim, wet and cobbled streets Northwest of England where there would be a significant cultural change, overweight tattooed women pushing wheelchairs with kids who look like their brothers, smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street with only chips & fried curry to eat.}
2.) 11 Aug 2020 22:02:12
Dembele would be a disaster. talented for sure but he doesn’t seem fully invested and committed and he also gets injured even more than Phil Jones. No doubt that’s who we will end up signing 🤦â€â™‚ï¸.
3.) 11 Aug 2020 22:06:37
Loan move for Bale? I’m sure Real would subsidise some of his wages.
4.) 11 Aug 2020 22:13:48
You're wrong Ed! He can also have a Yorkshire pudding wrap if he heads down to Piccadilly Gardens
The rest is pretty accurate though.
5.) 12 Aug 2020 07:42:54
How about bringing back Zaha?
6.) 12 Aug 2020 08:52:59
zaha- he plays on the left when we are needing someone on the right Eric?
If we are going for a right sided player, Bernadeschi if available would be a good shout.
Costa 29 seems a bit like the perisic of last year, ed002 has already give info on chiesa, coman and dembele so it looks like we are reeling down the list of alternatives. Probably put a bid in for Kanchelskis or do what we usually do and pay up for sancho:)
7.) 12 Aug 2020 09:49:23
In addition, just noted ed002s comment on the european pages that Bernadeschi is being offered as available by exchange or sale.
8.) 12 Aug 2020 10:58:24
With good reason cooky. He is decidedly average. mind you could fit in well in that case.
9.) 12 Aug 2020 11:08:00
Cookyman, Bernadeschi has poor goal scoring ratio.
He has scored only 5 goals in 2 years.
If Sancho is not attainable, we must go for Adama Traore.
He is improving every year.
10.) 12 Aug 2020 11:10:38
I read an interesting article about Dembele recently. It suggested that Barcelona had conducted a internal investigation to understand why he gets injured there. He was never injured at Rennes or Dortmund so they contacted his former coaches and had the Aspetar Clinic in Doha Go over his GPS data in games and training. In training, only 20% of the time he is involved in plays was spent sprinting, while in matches that figure rose to a staggering 90%.
Apparently his lifestyle is good these days he has a personal chef and his agent and family support him to be a good pro.
Essentially the article concludes that Barca’s training style is responsible for his injuries. Apparently De Jong has found their training challenging in a similar way.
If managed correctly it sounds like he could be a great asset.
11.) 12 Aug 2020 11:14:23
I hope we give Dembele a wide berth, he neither has the attitude or the ability to stay fit long enough to be worthwhile.
12.) 12 Aug 2020 11:37:52
He looked the business before he went to Barca. I’d love him to join.
13.) 12 Aug 2020 12:08:28
what do you mean by that ken.
14.) 12 Aug 2020 12:27:11
TRD again it comes down to opinions -traore isn't an outstanding scorer to be fair -
i think we will get sancho by paying up as this drags on but although he is a talent, imo he is vastly overpriced and success has come in the bundesligue not the EPL which is a much tougher place to shine. we have other positions that could be sorted using the figures quoted for 1 player ; don't think it makes sense to put all our eggs in one basket.
15.) 12 Aug 2020 12:47:03
ID take Dembele over Jadon if it is half the cost and then go and buy a CB and CM.
16.) 12 Aug 2020 13:30:22
I know we all have our opinions on particular players but you make a good point Singh - let's say we could get Koubilay-VD Beek + Dembele rather than blow all the money on Sancho would make sense ( offloading Smalling, Rojo Lingard) .
The 3 I mention are just the first 3 that popped into my head - they are quality and would improve the team which was always the first objective according to SAF.
17.) 12 Aug 2020 14:47:07
I’m not sure what price people think Dembele will go for, but if people think we could get him, a midfielder and a cb for the Sancho price, he’d have to go for about £10m.
18.) 12 Aug 2020 21:07:39
Hi cooky i don't ever remember him having a good game. I've seen lots of him coming on as a sub or being taken off. He gives away the ball a lot. He does work hard but imo is decidedly average.
19.) 12 Aug 2020 23:34:26
Bfb I would take Vdb and Dembele and go for another cb instrad of Koulibaly as i think he is reckless and we got a player like him in Baily already.
I remember ed sayin Barcelona are desperate to get rid of Dembele and will listen to decent offers and nothing as extravagant as Jadon.
If he puts his head down then he could be a very good player for us.
He is fast, technically very good and can score goals.
It is the attitude which has been the issue and that's the only concern I have with him.
20.) 13 Aug 2020 13:50:52
Dembele would struggle to get through the medical. If we miss out on Sancho and Dembele is an option on loan then I would entertain that idea but I would not purchase him at this time unless it was for a very low fee, on low wages and a small contract length. He missed 30 league games last season which is a worry.
21.) 13 Aug 2020 18:20:28
Ed I’m not sure if you’ve answer this, but do you know if dembele would be a permanent transfer or a loan? Only reason I ask is the links to Coman being a loan deal.
{Ed002's Note - There are no agreements in place about these players.}
22.) 13 Aug 2020 18:24:38
What type of fee are Barcelona looking for with Dembele Ed? Thanks.
{Ed002's Note - As much as possible. You should ignore the fees.}
14 Jul 2020 20:29:47
Just been reading that Sneijder is thinking of coming out of retirement. Just wondering if we have any interest 😂.
1.) 14 Jul 2020 21:01:47
Backup to Grealish is what I hear 😂.
2.) 15 Jul 2020 06:57:35
Schnieejdar is exactly what we need. Let’s hope we can get the deal over the line this time!
3.) 15 Jul 2020 11:03:30
We've signed Bruno we don't need Sneijder now, we need a winger. I wonder when Gaitan will sign, he's been lost at the airport longer than my luggage.

Lets get carried away a little.
Let's say we get European football next year and we address the midfield needs in the transfer window.
Clearly we would also need squad players.
If you had the reigns and you could sign one squad player for defense, midfield and attack that could be somewhat attainable. Who would you pick?
I'd go for prem experience,
Def: Kayode (Bren)
Mid: Gomes (Wolves)
Att: Evanilson (B'mouth)
1.) 08 Feb 2026 11:17:48
Good post Peter.
By the way, I think Top 4 is a must now. At the start of the season it was 'European Football's but I don't think there is any doubt we can get into the Champions League.
If those were the only 3 positions, I'd go.
Def: Kayode BRE
Mid: Anderson NF
Att: Diomande LEIPZIG
I think with Dorgu and Shaw, we should have enough at LB, Maz can also play both flanks. So I would add another RB. I think it will be 2 CMs and a wide attacker. Diomande looks promising and with the attacking talent we already have, a good balance with real prem experience, I think we can add someone like him. I really believe that we could hit the ground running next season, it's vital we get the right manager in place.
2.)

08 Feb 2026 11:57:45
{Ed's Note - Shappy has posted a new article entitled, United’s Summer Priorities: Midfield First, Then Balance
3.) 08 Feb 2026 15:07:20
We don’t need squad players we need players to go straight in starting 11
We can’t expect Shaw to stay fit after World Cup, need a LB
Mazz is not good enough either side as first choice only as cover, So Dalot needs to stay. Otherwise a starting right back needed
Need a GK to push on Lammens but he needs to be good enough to take his place if need be
We still need a experienced proper CB with pace
Need 2 Midfielders and an experienced striker, Sesko got a lot to learn still and hopefully Zirkee gone
If Bruno goes we are bang in trouble.
Still a lot needed if we want to push on.
4.) 08 Feb 2026 15:43:05
Defence: Kounde Barca
Midfield: Anderson Forest
Attack: Thiago Brentford.
5.) 08 Feb 2026 16:11:54
Je suis unite, it was hypothetical. Lighten up pal.
6.) 08 Feb 2026 16:18:22
Angel/Don Red - I agree with Anderson although I wouldn't put him down as a squad player. For me he would have been part of the "address the midfield needs in the transfer window. " part.
Don Red - Thiago was up there for me. After taking Mbuemo and Hypothetically taking Kayode. I starting to feel sorry for Brentford. So I raided Bournemouth instead ?.
7.) 08 Feb 2026 16:26:19
Ah yes indeed. João Gomes for midfield then. Anderson for sure is a starter.
8.) 08 Feb 2026 16:26:34
Ah yes indeed. João Gomes for midfield then. Anderson for sure is a starter.
9.) 08 Feb 2026 19:01:00
Senesi (free) or Mukiele
Wilson (free) or Aaronson
Thiago
Accept the frees would still command a small fee, but it means we bolster the squad, hypothetically if course, and keep majority of funds for the major works required elsewhere.
On that, thankfully, Mainoo is playing again, the discontent around his contract seems to have become secondary and with that, I think it presents a great opportunity for the centre mid to be resolved.
I believe Ugarte needs to go as well as the case departure.
Baleba for me is the obvious Casemiro replacement, and assuming Bruno stays and Mainoo starts, we probably still need one more, again assuming you have the likes of Kone, Fletcher (x2) etc available. To that end, I think Wharton is the preferred all rounder over Anderson as he can play in either the Baleba/Mainoo role. I also think he is more attainable than Anderson.
So we could end up with
Mainoo, Baleba, Wharton, Wilson, Kone, Fletcher x2 for the central mid positions.
I will say, we need to offload mount also as he really has no pathway into this team if the wide players remain untouched (Amad, Cunha, Mbeumo, Dorgu) add to that potentially diomande and we have Lacey etc al coming through, he has to go, along with Zirkzee. He is also very injury prone.
I said in the past once we solve midfield defence becomes the problem child to then solve! I think if it doesn't get some attention this summer, we will all be screaming at the usual suspects this time next year for costing us games.
I know folk will say 'tok much churn for one season' but I really think we need to see 3-5 defenders depart this summer!
Keepers are apples assuming Vitek comes back and I don't care who occupies the 3rd spot.
We do need another striker too.
10.) 08 Feb 2026 19:53:14
Jimbob at the moment of 1st 11 plus sesko deligt maz can compete with any 11 on their best day.
The issue is beneath that we are very weak on experience and quality allbeit with good young players and even within that 14 cas is going maguire not much left Shaw not much left.
So as someone said above moving to 2 games a week will mean we need to sign 5 or 6 players that are 1st team starters. i'm confident that the likes of heaven yoro will be better in a back 4 and can step up 5 starters i'd hope for would be.
2xcm 1x rb 1xlb 1 x st 1xcb
That us assuming bruno stays.
Maguire mount zirkzee cas ugarte either maz or dalot sold
Baleba wharton kayode evanilson Hall murillo
If bruno and martinez stay then maguire will not be needed as an elder imo i hope he gets a good move.
Not chance of that happening but it would leave us with a well balanced squad imo.
No superstars just good players with potential to improve that compliment what at have and fits into how Carrick set the team up in the last few games.
Win against West ham and we are 1 step closer to securing that cl place. If we get it 5 or 6 starters are required imo.
11.) 08 Feb 2026 20:44:07
Anderson does not thrill me as a signing. His form recently has not been great and I don't think he will ever be a great footballer.
12.) 08 Feb 2026 22:45:29
Pretty much nailed on Ken, we are aligned once again! ? I don't feel we ever stray too far away tbh.
In agreeance on your departures, although personally I would dump MDL (too often injured for 2 games a week) and retain Maguire on reduced wages.
We don't need world beaters, I actually hope we bypass Diomande, as good as he looks, we need to avoid those types of signings. As you say, just simple non superstar status players. Lift the overall quality of the squad a notch or too and mst importantly add depth!
13.) 09 Feb 2026 04:48:16
Simple non superstar players not world beaters…. what you seriously think that’s going to win in the EPL
What’s the last team that won the EPL or CL without superstars or world beaters, looks and sounds romantic but be realistic
Even last year the scousers had superstars and world beaters in Alison Van Dyke Salah Trent to name just 4 of there world class players
Previous years City awash with superstars and it goes on probably until Leicester
So yes if we want to be just challenging for top 4 every year and that’s it, let’s go your romantic way.
14.) 09 Feb 2026 08:58:18
Indeed jimbob. I remember a duncecap that used to post here (german lad) telling me united wouldn't be within 10 points of liverpool this session that I had red tints on when I said we would finish above them this season.
Dopey guy told me Liverpool would win the league easily after their World class signings.
He was a fool imo, glad he doesn't post anymore. Delusional was the phrase I think used when we said united would qualify for cl.
Tbf I think he was pretty dumb and a troll maybe why he doesn't post anymore.
15.) 09 Feb 2026 13:43:25
They we just reincarnated Ken, above is another reincarnation and there goes another post that loses my interest because of a select group of posters chiming in.
16.) 09 Feb 2026 17:33:16
Perhaps you should start your own thread that you can pick who chimes in to your post…. might suit you better being selective, sure you could find a couple of people to join you….
17.) 09 Feb 2026 18:26:45
???.
18.) 09 Feb 2026 18:55:47
Je Suis, I'm going to engage with you, as I am unsure why you have your knickers in a twist.
Read your suggestions back to yourself. Here I'll summarise.
You state we require:
At least a LB, probably also RB, an experienced CB, at least 2 CM and ST (experienced) . Also a GK.
Now compare your wishlist to my suggestions which you chose to criticise.
CM: Baleba, Wharton and Wilson added.
CB: Senesi
ST: Thiago
Defence: I highlighted this will be a problem area, as have you. For the record, I agree we should be churning or fullbacks and CBs. If it were me I would sell : Shaw, Mazraoui, MDL, at the very least. Obviously Malacia is leaving on a free and potentially Maguire. If Maguire stays I would look to offload Martinez also (injury prone and a liability) . That 5 defenders going.
Keep is ok providing Vitek comes back imo, he will push Lammens and vice versa.
If diomande is available we want him, get him.
Your thoughts on what we need are surely not too far away from the suggestions above? Who would you change from the above suggestions and why?
On fullbacks, I had thought the likes of Livramento and Munoz were obvious candidates but they seem to be injured aot this season, so that is a red flag to me if we are building a squad capable of playing 60games.
On your point of city and Liverpool and world beaters, look at them both now, squads are decimated and they are struggling, you can have a world beaters or two, but not a squad of them, it doesn't work well long time as they squabble to be too dog and eat the squad from the inside out.
I'd be interested to see your thoughts mate and try and have a discussion about it.

Purely EPL-experienced.
DEFENCE: Munoz/Kayode/Hume
MIDFIELD: Janelt/Garner/Tonali
ATTACK: Can't see anyone around who would be happy as a squad player, and that I think is good enough. Maybe Thiago if he was amenable.
Good post, Patrick ?.

I like tonali he is a fine player.
25 Jan 2026 22:48:55
Cunha and Mbeumo have been fantastic signings. Lammens is definitely my favourite signing from the summer. The difference he makes is huge.
1.) 25 Jan 2026 23:20:48
Maybe Dorgu might prove to be too now he’s played in his correct position by competent coaches.
Mbeumo has been immense, Lammens has steadied the ship at the ack without being spectacular but has handled the pressure superbly, and Cunha may well become one of my favourite players for us.

It suggests that whilst we have had a tough time the current recruitment team are doing a good job. All of the recent recruits are having an impact and look like they will form the basis of our team over the next few years. Also, whilst we were playing a certain system that these players fitted into they are not so wedded to that and can play the current system which appears to have been key to the recruitment (flexibility)
Assuming these were predominently due to Vivell/Macauley/Wilcox it bodes well for the summer window.

Ballon d'Orgu. Dorgie Best. ?.
05 Jan 2026 17:50:27
I can see this 6 months as interim also being an audition for Fletcher. He is highly regarded within the club and is exactly what Wilcox and Berrarda want. a 'yes man'.
1.) 05 Jan 2026 19:44:16
Ole 2.0.
2.) 05 Jan 2026 21:10:36
Good to see you are giving him a fair chance lads.
17 Dec 2025 22:51:51
What do you make of the timing of this Bruno interview Ed?
{Ed001's Note - just seemed like a warning to the club not to try and sell in Jan. He doesn't want to go. A bit like Salah really, where they are both very happy and settled and upset at the club trying to push them out of the door to Arabia.}
1.) 18 Dec 2025 19:26:52
Is that it ed001, they are trying to get Bruno out the door? Amorim too?
{Ed001's Note - they were trying to get him out of the door, yes. They wanted to take the money in the summer.}
2.) 19 Dec 2025 00:01:05
But they were not offered any money for him. No bid was lodged because he didn't want to go. No bid was accepted because it wasn't made. If a bid was made the they would have had to make a decision but they never had that choice to make.
I tend to agree they would have accepted the bid but he chose to rebuff their advances.
{Ed001's Note - semantics. They had agreed a deal in principle. So they did accept.}
3.) 19 Dec 2025 07:14:21
Its not semantics you can't accept an offer that's not made.
Why did they not formalise any offer? Because the player refused their advance.
They would have accepted but they never got the chance because the offer was not put in.
That's not semantics.
If they wanted to 100% push him out they would have encouraged a formal bid and accepted it but it was left to the player to decide his future. Once he said no their advances no attempt to force him out as they had no offer.

Fantastic news today. Bonana ? has been called up by Cameroon. We will have BM back in no time. ?.
1.) 10 Dec 2025 17:26:32
Did the other 63 keepers from Cameroon call in injured?
2.) 11 Dec 2025 10:37:02
He’s going to play up front.
Peter Griffin's rumour replies
15 Dec 2025 16:43:22
I think I may just be jealous. If I write more than two paragraphs I confuse myself. You crack on Shappy lad! ?.
14 Dec 2025 22:26:32
Once I get to two paragraphs I just keep scrolling rapidly until I see 'Shappy' then start reading again.
No offence intended towards the fella but If I wanted to be bored rubbishless I'd speak to my wife instead. ?.
14 Dec 2025 18:36:58
I don't even know that many words Shappy.
27 Jul 2025 21:31:58

20 Jul 2025 17:43:44

Peter Griffin's banter replies
28 Feb 2026 17:59:18
I agree, Shappy. This group of players have shown that their heads fall off when this type of situation occurs, though.
28 Feb 2026 00:08:05
Massive few weeks. Villa vs Chelsea and United vs Villa coming up. We need a win tomorrow to take advantage of results around us. Hold on, we've been here before!
19 Feb 2026 16:39:13
Yet more good work, thanks, Ed!
{Ed033's Note - Thanks.
