Get Emery.
1.) 21 Sep 2026 05:55:37
It doesn't matter who we get, if they don't have final say over players being targeted, players being sold and players being selected, it is a poisoned chalice.
2.) 21 Sep 2026 08:42:16
Yup. At this point, Wilcox out is the only logical play.
3.) 21 Sep 2026 13:23:47
It will be the same s*** show no matter who comes in.
That kind of performance is just standard now for United.

While I agree that we need to fix the leaky roof before changing the carpet, MC has to take some of the blame. Amorim built up fitness levels throughout the squad. We've become lazy and out of shape since he left. It's not good enough.
5.) 22 Sep 2026 12:28:45
I am not convinced at all by Carrick - his credentials or his demeanor at every press conference I've seen. I don't find him convincing inspiring at all and I feel he benefited from a good old bout of new manager bounce when he first came in.
But. I don't think fitness levels, coaching and tactics are all his fault.
Yes he should be implementing and communicating these during games, and again he doesn't seem particularly vocal or proactive in this regard. But there is a whole host of coaches responsible for this during the week. He can't be solely responsible. Seriously, Woodgate and Evans? They have as little experience and clout as Carrick.
6.) 22 Sep 2026 22:41:34
Bang on redseven. MC rode the Amorim wave all the way to the bank and the hierarchy fell for it again.
Said hierarchy needs to look at Wilcox and Berrada. They have sold the plan of title challengers next season, or is the season after. Either way, we are closer to relegation form than title winning form, with a squad so far out of shape it isn't funny.
The club is void of standards. It is a global embarrassment.

Record revenue for club announced. I dare say the owners think he is doing a great job. Director football is the role to address.

Marcus Rashford - Got to be the most controversial figure in our club right now.
And maybe it’s the football romantic in me but I’m hoping for a resurgence. Still remember his debut brace and he’s still one of our own.
Hoping people give him a chance and Carrick gets the best out of him as he fixes a couple of squad issues if he comes in all guns firing.

I was at that game, coming back to Manchester for a quick visit. Took the wife, who traitorously had become an Arsenal supporter. Grounds for divorce? It was a game we were expected to lose, or at least struggle in. Anyway, that intense surrounding, mainly male energy when the crowd rose after the winner went in, caused her to rethink her commitment to supporting any team at all.
She ended up deciding she was no longer going to invest all that emotion into it, and pulled back completely. Nary a peep from her since! Saved the marriage!
Mind you, she was attracted to Arsenal when they were playing some very attractive football under Wenger's professorial management. I suspect that she would never have strayed today, given how unattractive they are today.

It's all gone a bit Ron Manager there.
3.) 12 Aug 2026 17:48:04
The romanticism of him falling back in love with the club and getting back to his best would be great to see. I just doubt it will happen, while some fans are incapable of moving on. Once they decide they don't like a player, nothing can convince them to change that view.
4.) 12 Aug 2026 18:28:49
If he wasn't already here, would we be trying to buy him? I doubt it. Late for training, fallen out with a couple of managers, questionable effort, £325K a week, we wouldn't be anywhere near it.
I'm not going to hold a grudge, but let's be honest, we are stuck with him. If anyone thinks he is suddenly going to be a great, highly motivated, and committed player, I fear you will be disappointed.

The biggest issue with Rashford is that he has never really tried to develop his all round game.
If you think back to his first season, his game was about operating high and wide to get in behind the defence with his pace, cutting in and shooting. Nothing has really changed since then.
It has always felt like he thought he should have a Ronaldo role without defensive responsibilities, and the team set up to counterattack to suit his game. The issue is that he was never close to being as clinical as Ronaldo. If he had worked on his defending, passing, dribbling ability, added anything else to his game, he could have been top class.
Watching him at the World Cup, his limitations are obvious. Struggles to beat defenders with the ball, and very limited tracking back.
We're fools for giving him a massive wage, and now we're stuck with him. Personally, I feel like he's going to be a distraction this season, with lots of media attention on his role, game time, etc. Think everyone at the club would rather that he moved on. But he's not going to take the drastic wage reduction required to convince another club to buy him.

I very much agree with AJH on Rashford and want him gone.
Whilst I agree with you, Danny, I take issue with the first sentence of your post. Personally I think the biggest issue with Rashford is that he has become a self opinionated, entitled, selfish d***.

The whole team is playing sh*te but somehow it's always Rashford's fault. Cunha, Dalot, Mbuemo, Tielmans, Maguire, Shaw, the whole team are walking.
When it's the whole team you got to think the manager needs to put a rocket up them but he's looking as lost as his team right now.
Not saying Rash has been great but some fans are just obsessed with only blaming one person.

Do you think we could get Emry out of Villa?
Just had most of his team dismantled. If there was anyone who might be dislodged atm
Not asking for Carrick to go at all but would be one of the few people I'd be happy with as a replacement.
{Ed0666's Note - you kind of are asking for Carrick to go if you’re talking about his successor. Personally I think you guys should get steady Eddie for a couple of seasons, take a beat consolidate, get top 4, earn some money and then mount a title challenge in a couple of seasons..then go for the big name managers/coaches like Enrique’s of the world.
07 Sep 2026 07:52:19
Red Man, how can you defend Amorim, who showed absolutely nothing while he was here, and did not deserve the job and almost got us relegated, but yet Carrick isn't the man for the job? Is CV the only thing you look at?
28 Aug 2026 23:10:42
Martinez doesn't have the athleticism to be a left back.
22 Aug 2026 20:55:23
Bit harsh on Maguire, I think.
Shaw and Dalot, though... It's unbelievable how many appearances they have for this club.

1st: Man United
2nd: Chelsea
3rd: Man City
4th: Arsenal
5th: Aston Villa
6th: Liverpool
League Cup: Chelsea
FA Cup: Man United
Champions League: PSG
Now, you might call me mad, which is fine, but... Arsenal are a one-trick pony, and that trick, I think, is about to be stopped by refs this season.
Chelsea, I don’t think, are that amazing, but I think the rest of the pack aren’t perfect either. Some good signings and a very good manager, with no Champions League, will help them a lot.
City - Pep gone, Rodri gone. As good as Anderson is, he is no Rodri, and City (even under Pep) struggle without the Ballon d'Or winner.
So that leaves United. This is with the caveat that we sign a top level left back and some more midfield cover. If we do that, then I think we’ve actually got decent squad depth in all positions. I don’t think we’ll do amazingly in Europe, but I have a funny feeling that 21 is coming.
