Being reported forest would demand upwards of 100mil for anderson. Steer well clear!

WhiskeyRed

1.) 11 Nov 2025 11:51:41
Depending on where Forest are come January, Dyche may want to freshen up the team. Now getting rid of their best player would be ridiculous I appreciate that but I'd be tempted to offer Ugarte plus cash for Anderson and maybe Mainoo til the end of the season on Loan as a tempter. If anything, it will get the wheels in motion for Summer.

To get the calibre of player we need in CM, we will be looking at £80M upwards and yes it's a huge amount of money, but for a 23 year old, if we can get 10 years from them that's £10M a year.

2.) 11 Nov 2025 12:54:54
Why would Forest take Ugarte for no particular reason lol.

Hes not very good and his wages are substantial, certainly for forests wage structure.

Maybe we could offer them Mount on loan in exchange for gibbs white as well and do a double swoop.

3.) 11 Nov 2025 13:33:55
He's on par with their top 4 earners, in fact Douglas Luiz is on more than him. There is a reason, he's a CM, as is Anderson so not leaving them short in that position. You may think he's not very good but others in Football may rate him, including Bielsa who seems to pick him for Uruguay most games.

He knows a bit about Football and he may just suit Forest's and Dyche's style compared to United's. Other than that, yeah it's a sound argument you put forward.

4.) 11 Nov 2025 13:50:50
So after watching Ugarte in the premier league you think he should be a top 5 earner at nottingham forest, a club that reached the european places last year.

Douglas luiz is on more than him because he is a better player as he showed for a good couple of years at Aston Villa.

We need to stop this arrogant view of our playing squad and elevated opinion of some of these players ability.

5.) 11 Nov 2025 14:51:19
Why would Anderson come to United and be expected to stay 10 years that’s just dreaming!
Everyone wanted Baleba on the back of one good season, look at this season.
Everyone raved about Ugarte look how that turned out.

6.) 11 Nov 2025 15:06:50
You said his wages are substantial, certainly for forests wage structure. I pointed out he's on par with 4 of their players and 1 is on more. It doesn't matter whether I think that's where he should be or not.

Elliot Anderson is a better player than Douglas Luiz and showed last season in the Premier League helping Forest get to European places, Luiz failed to make an impact at Juventus, involved in no goals, wasn't a regular and was inconsistent when he did play, why isn't Anderson on more than Luiz?

I am unsure on why suggesting we use a player who is currently not reaching the levels the team needs due to how we are playing as part of a deal to get a player in as well as offering money also is an arrogant view? Perhaps, Forest's style is better for Ugarte which is why it would work for all parties? Suggesting Forest give us Anderson plus cash then you'd have point.

7.) 11 Nov 2025 16:52:45
IF he stays for 10 years Je Suit unite. IF. But he’s 23, why is it unrealistic to think he could stay for 10 years?

8.) 12 Nov 2025 05:57:26
Because it’s 2025 and no player stays for 10 years and we are nowhere near the pull we once were and if he were to become a fantastic player, which he not yet Madrid, Bayern, PSG Barcelona will come calling to think we can hold a player for 10 years is delusional. Just look at the facts, poorly owned club realistically few years away from winning anything and still no guarantee of that, no striker at the club at all, jury out big time on the manager, SJR debacle of owning minority share, muting of new ground so be even less money to spend like happened at emirates at Spurs even happening at Madrid and Barca, so only defence you have of him staying 10 years is AGE….

9.) 12 Nov 2025 14:14:45
What utter nonsense.

10.) 13 Nov 2025 09:49:56
If they want 100m, pay it.
He was absolute class against us.
Get it done.
Secure the title, or top 4.
Keep the process moving.

The way he is playing, 100m in Jan is 130 in the summer.

11.) 13 Nov 2025 14:39:56
I would rather spend £100m on the right player than £50m on another Ugarte who is nowhere near good enough and needs to be replaced after two seasons.

Is Elliot Anderson the right player? I don’t know, but if the people in charge of signings are confident that he is then so be it.

12.) 13 Nov 2025 16:00:41
Agreed redseven. So many people scoffed at paying that type of money for Rice and I don't think most regard that as poor spending by Arsenal now.

13.) 14 Nov 2025 00:52:26
Je suis is the latest Maze incarnation clearly, don’t feed the troll. Nonsense already.

14.) 16 Nov 2025 13:17:51
Anderson looked class for England, looks a complete CM to me and can pass, comfortable in close with players around him. It’s the United tax on the price. Question is why have we not been picking up players like that before they get to £100m. Still, if the scouts like him, buy. You know I would sell Bruno to fund it, we missed that trick in summer. Still suspect that will be one of the big deals in summer. Thing is we need a CM on 1st Jan.

Ugarte takes a lot of stick, my humble opinion is that he isn’t suited to how we play. He looks like he is comfortable up close, one of a central 3. However, there is space all around him here and Bruno doesn’t play like that. When opposition run at him with space he doesn’t look comfortable. I think he is a really good player that was not bought for how United play.

15.) 17 Nov 2025 14:27:35
Yeah RedMan let’s take another 20 goals a season out the team! We already have a striker that don’t score, Cunha not exactly prolific so Mbeumo best double his output….
Jeez your hatred for Bruno is embarrassing is it same Bruno who scored another hat trick for Portugal…oh sorry let’s ignore that.

16.) 17 Nov 2025 17:52:05
Team, not team Bruno. We need to move forward and that isn’t going to be with a 31 year old, no matter how blinded you are. You would let him play until he has no value.
I don’t hate anyone, let alone Bruno, but we are dragging our feet as we have done for years.

17.) 18 Nov 2025 16:19:43
The argument of taking out a player automatically loses you a certain amount of goals is so simplistic. Van Nistelrooy left in 2006, his last season we scored 72 goals in the league. The following season we scored 83.

18.) 20 Nov 2025 19:44:10
This may sound like hyperbole, and it might be due to the fact he is a midfielder playing for Forest.

But I genuinely feel that Anderson has a Roy Keane feel about him.

He doesn't quite have the temper, but a combative all round box to box midfielder who is surprisingly good at getting forward and scoring key goals. Said to be a leader in the changing room and certainly is out on the pitch with his performances.

There are definitely shades of Keane in Anderson.

07 Aug 2025 12:51:00
Looks like we will be waving Garna off to Chelsea very soon. Which will be a massive boost to finances considering the profit that will be made. If we can get Antony and Sancho shifted which i suspect we must have been given positive movements on. Then i see no reason why we won't be able to get Baleba over the line also.

WhiskeyRed

1.) 07 Aug 2025 13:49:25
I don’t see how it looks like that. Yes, we all know that Chelsea think wingers are like Pokémon, but they haven’t even submitted a bid.

2.) 07 Aug 2025 14:36:32
And they apparently only value Garnacho at £30m. Which is ridiculously low in my opinion.

3.) 07 Aug 2025 16:12:33
Who’s to say that we haven’t already committed to spend the Garnacho, Antony, and Sancho money on Sesko? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love it if we go on to sign a new CDM and keeper this window, but we can’t have too much more money left in the kitty.

4.) 07 Aug 2025 16:42:24
They want him and he wants them, and we want rid. It will happen.

5.) 07 Aug 2025 18:07:09
Can somebody explain how Chelsea value Jackson at 90 million but Garnacho at only 30. Something doesn't add up.

6.) 07 Aug 2025 19:46:34
Quite simple in their eyes, they are selling Jackson and buying Garnacho, everyone thinks what they sell is worth more than it really is and what they buy worth less than is being asked.

Ultimately you can ask what you want for anything, doesn't mean you will get it.

The only true arbiter of value is the marketplace, let's see what happens.

7.) 08 Aug 2025 10:34:36
I think they have said 48 million for Jackson ain’t they, I would also think Newcastle will go for him and Jackson will score and do better than Garnacho will that’s probably why he more £££s.

Can't just be me praying we don't chase Skelly for LB?

WhiskeyRed

1.) 02 Apr 2026 08:45:59
As long as it is not Shaw.

2.) 02 Apr 2026 10:52:18
It seems Skelly's versatility is what's appealing to the club. I also think Arteta is opting for more physicality and experience, whilst trying to win the title, which has gone against Skelly.

I'm not sure Skelly would be my first choice personally, but he's a decent player with youth on his side, and I think our recruitment team now are looking into players better than they ever have in recent years, so I trust their judgment.

3.) 02 Apr 2026 12:34:40
I've seen him live several times and been very impressed with him. With Ports, versatility is a major selling point.

But I have no idea if there is any truth to the rumours.

4.) 02 Apr 2026 12:46:17
Skelley wouldn't be my first choice, but he's far from a bad choice.

He's a very good fullback, who has the potential to play in midfield if needed. As a fullback, he is fairly well rounded: good at 1v1 defending, great on the ball, good at driving forward with it, and creative when he gets forward. He's not great in the air (which is probably why Arteta doesn't play him as much this season), and that is his only real weakness. He's a full back who more naturally wants to tuck inside rather than bomb down the wing, although he is more than capable of overlapping. That probably ties in nicely with Dorgu, who as a fullback is more naturally a chalk on your boots kind of player, and would give the manager a nice balance of options.

However, he's fairly inexperienced, and we do lack experience both at LB (beyond Shaw) and potentially in the backline, with players like Lammens in goal, along with Yoro and Heaven possibly at CB. Given MdL, Martinez and Shaw's injury record, we could very possibly be going into games next season with three 19- or 20-year-olds in our back four.

Personally I'd hope for a more experienced fullback this summer, but I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if we sign Lewis-Skelley.

5.) 03 Apr 2026 23:51:23
I rate Lewis Skelly. Good player.

But this is a 19-year-old, England international and Arsenal Youth product. Why is he not playing, what's his attitude like, has he gone backwards? All very relevant questions.

He's big mates with Heaven, I've heard that from Heaven in an interview.

I really like the signing on paper, but I have reservations based on the open questions above.

6.) 04 Apr 2026 09:56:56
Read that Gabriel Heinze is a fan of Hincapie and his physicality, and that is why Lewis-Skelly has dropped down the pecking order.

26 Mar 2026 21:48:59
Watching the ireland game, and what a blast from the past it was to see Robbie Brady coming on. Wasnt even aware he was still playing!

WhiskeyRed

1.) 27 Mar 2026 16:43:06
Blast from the past is right. It was like watching a team from the 80s and 90s, lumping the ball as high as you can as often as you can.
Sadly, it's a very poor selection to be choosing from. Not good enough despite all the effort.

13 Jan 2026 18:33:33
Quite worrysome reading that Carrick has added steve holland to his staff. is this ratcliffe and southgate getting a head start on next season by having a familiar head around the place for him to get the rundown from with a view of him joining in the summer?

Might be reading too much into it but i sincerely hope not.

WhiskeyRed

1.) 13 Jan 2026 20:02:40
Put the whiskey down.

2.) 13 Jan 2026 20:08:53
Could be worse WhiskeyRed, we could have hired someone who was convicted of assaulting an Asian student and narrowly escaped a prison sentence.

3.) 13 Jan 2026 20:31:06
I think its sensible move by Carrick. He will need a good experienced head to bounce off.
There is no reason to jump to conclusions at this point.
Im not sure why ao many people look for negativity when there are positive aspects to look at.
As fans we need to stop looking for every negative and look for positives.
The biggest issue the club faces externally is trying to turn all the negative narratives around and for me our opposition don't need to destabilise united our own fans do the most damage.

Where is the us against the world mentality.
We don't have all the owners and management we want but we have who we have and we need to get behind whomever we get next or the cycle will continue.

4.) 13 Jan 2026 22:16:34
Okay, here we go.

Another reset, another three year plan etc. etc etc.

Time to get my hopes back up, which in fairness are starting from a higher place this time round. C’mon Michael, do us proud pal.

Please please please United don’t cock it up again. I’m running out of energy at my old age to keep fighting off the opposition fans that are quite rightly on my back constantly.

5.) 14 Jan 2026 07:33:02
If that nonsense was true why would they not just give Southgate the job now?

6.) 14 Jan 2026 07:48:24
I was happy to see Holland on the team. I think he's a smart and experienced coach.

7.) 14 Jan 2026 09:10:15
The narrative behind the Carrick appointment is surprisingly sensible. He did a decent job in his short spell in charge last time, and largely did well at Boro until he didn’t. Holland and Woodgate are shrewd appointments to work with him, and we need all the defensive coaches we can get our hands on. OGS would have been the sentimental appointment, and I’m glad the club have taken all emotion out of the decision.

Carrick will fully understand our full backs and midfield are by far the weakest area of our side and hopefully can get that balance working. I think we have enough firepower for the remainder of the season in Mbeumo, Sesko, Amad, Bruno and Cunha to cause teams serious problems.

We really do miss de Ligt and dare I say Maguire at the back right now.

8.) 14 Jan 2026 21:40:30
Carrick’s last midfield line up was McFred, does anyone long for those days.

9.) 16 Jan 2026 14:20:57
Carrick appointment is diabolical, we been down this road, United should be identifying who they want and move heaven and Earth to secure him, it’s a no win situation again for the club, SJR is more of a joke than the Glazers, Carrick got virtually no experience at this level in management and as for Woodgate and Evans as coaches well…….

The club loses whatever Carrick does it ridiculous and the sort of behaviour from 2nd/3rd tier clubs appointing on the cheap.

06 Jan 2026 20:22:02
Club is absolutely rotten to the core. And there is genuinely 1% chance of us coming out of it with the prats in charge since the 'takeover'.

Very sad state of affairs we find our club in.

Amorim was not the one but wilcox berada and even ratcliffe are just as clueless. Anyone defending them needs a reality check.

WhiskeyRed

29 Dec 2025 19:01:22
Amorim now explaining his refusal to change the system stems from the media and how he did not want them to let his players believe that the media had an external pressure.

Gotta say, i am liking this man more and more this season.

WhiskeyRed

1.) 29 Dec 2025 20:06:51
Completely agree and by the way I think there is 100% truth to it. I was saying that as soon as he changes something he will lose the dressing room. I think Wolves tomorrow night will be a tricky game so hopefully we come through with a win.

2.) 29 Dec 2025 20:49:37
Whilst I agree and admire his resolve, there is an element of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It could have cost him his job.

Still not convinced as yet but he is certainly improving his lot. I sincerely hope he continues to do so in the expectation that we get some longer term stability.

3.) 29 Dec 2025 21:14:39
Bravado or foolishness time will tell

Tomorrows match against Wolves will be difficult
They are playing with a freedom now and still have spirit as they shown against Liverpool. With so many players missing it is quite possible Utd lose. I really would like to see the youngsters getting on for a decent amount of time but tomorrow may not be the right game.

4.) 29 Dec 2025 21:54:49
Lads, we were 16th or 17th last season. We're doing ok.

5.) 29 Dec 2025 22:19:13
It doesn't matter what he says it was/is. The most important thing is that he is doing what we wanted him to do months ago.

I like the pragmatism, long overdue. He speaks of compromise, I think that comes from chats with Wilcox et el.

6.) 30 Dec 2025 06:32:45
So if the press say he should drop Dalot then he has to play him every game. Starting to make sense now.

7.) 30 Dec 2025 06:39:40
It is nice to see a few more lads seeing what has been crystal clear to a few others for a while.
Amorim is bringing stability to the ship and throwing overboard the ones who aren't willing to tow the line.
The club as a whole is ridding the club of deadwood and having a reset.
I don't care how he treats the players, he is there to get the best out of them, and if that means throwing them under a bus for a reaction, so be it.

I recall he mentioned Shaw early doors, he has been a revelation since.
I think it is a great way to weed out the weak mentality players and fast track their exits, aka Sancho, Rashford, garnacho etc.
I have been constant in my critique of our weak minded players and cannot wait for a time when we are rid of them all.

8.) 30 Dec 2025 07:51:05
Angel.

"The most important thing is that he is doing what we (angel) wanted him to do months ago. "

Somewhat narcissistic.

9.) 30 Dec 2025 16:06:32
The Important thing is winning.

He’s basically admitting the media control his decisions.

Surface levels sounds like a solid quote but underneath it shows weakness and fear of opinion.

We could have 6 more points, if he’d changed sooner.

10.) 30 Dec 2025 18:13:53
Fizz, I had just had a conversation with my uncle after replying to this, who had said the exact same thing.

We (being a lot fans) including myself, some friends and family have all been hoping he would be more pragmatic with his set up for months upon months now. We were conceding too many goals and losing too many games. It was a collective we, nothing to do with me. But I would expect you to understand that ?

I'm delighted he is doing this now. Long overdue, but it doesn't matter.

11.) 30 Dec 2025 20:01:22
Aye, keep blaming ‘the system’ rather than the players. ?.

12.) 30 Dec 2025 22:25:54
The wolves game proves the players need turning over. So so bad, in so many areas.

My problem with the injuries side of things at the club right now is that there seems to be a pattern of recurring injuries to those who have had bad injuries beforehand, e.g.

Martinez, Mount, De Ligt.

Is it a case that they can't get over the issues, or do we look at our medical staff? It's no secret that it hasn't been up to scratch post Fergie.

Shappy, if we get UCL we are gonna be playing multiple times a week, we need to be integrating youth and none better, at this time, than Kone to integrate for cup games against lower league teams. We are drastically thin in midfield with Cas and Ugarte probably leaving.

We may very well end up signing two midfielders for the first team, but that still isnt a very well rounded depth to push on in cups, UCL and the league.

{Ed025's Note - he replaces Cas for me WR, hes been decent but hes a bit of an old turnip now and he strolls rather than runs these days mate, he still gets in your midfield though because lets be honest the likes of Mainoo and Ugarte are championship players at best and thats before you throw in Mason out for the count Mount..
