Do not sack the manager. You have got to back the manager. I had this argument with non man united fans in the pub 'he's got to get sacked'

A - the injuries are ridiculous. Imagine Arsenal without Saliba, Gabriel, Rice. Liverpool without Van Dijk, Konate, you get the idea. No one talks about this outside of Utd fans.

B - The core of this current squad chucked three previous managers under the bus and cannot be allowed to outlive another manager.

I would keep Onana, Martinez, Kambwala, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Nacho, Holjund and build from that, everyone else can go or stay imo. Other youth yet to be uncovered don't count.

Injuries are injuries, but after 18 months plus and 400 million there should be a pattern a direction, there should be a cohesive unit, there should be better in game management there should be better man management there should be better coaching, these are all things that fall at the Door of ETH all we get is deluded comments for him about how well we played we controlled game when anybody can see that’s not the case, even in the games we won we have looked awful, can’t harp back to last season either TBF we looked crap last 10 games anyway….
Some poor players at United yes, but Ones ETH bought in are just as bad if not worse, even the ones who not injured are useless, Arambat useless Antony useless Rasmus runs a lot is he a clinical finisher not in a million years, is he a United number 9 not in a million years
Injuries and sickness, players not busting a gut to get back to play for him, even Weghorst now having a dig….
Yet still some very blinkered people try to defend ETH maybe you can explain what is ETH strong points?
All I can see is he is glorified school teacher who puts you on the naughty step, it’s 2023 your dealing with multi millionaire footballers, you need to earn respect not play childish games and make deluded comments, show the players and the supporters your capable…. oh wait he not doing that.

2.) 24 Dec 2023 08:48:31
Not sure how you can categorically state that Hoijlund is not a clinical finisher or a number 9.

He has had ZERO service from the rest of the park so until he gets that the jury must be out. We all slated Wout last year but was he really the problem? Seems we could make any decent forward look rubbish at the moment.

3.) 24 Dec 2023 09:33:25
Agree with told. he's deluded and what friggin plan? Best Xmas present is ten hag booted out.

4.) 24 Dec 2023 10:08:31
And replace him with whom Nick?

5.) 24 Dec 2023 10:12:10
If the players believe ETH will be gone in summer because Rat has a change planned, it gives the manager little chance. Players will not be committed. We should have had a 100% clean break ownership change with it being decisive. Now, like how the Glazers have run the club it’s a mess.

That said ETH has to show leadership and he isn’t. The continued treatment of Antony, the positioning of Bruno and McT are shambolic, the lack of ability or willingness to change mid game is hard to understand. What is the style he plans? Injuries are terrible, but it also has been said that ETH training schedule is partly to blame. Yes, delighted to see young players given time, but what is our structure or plan?

What are our tactics to score? Yesterday we were as bland as I can remember, training pace, acceptance of nil being ok. What are we doing to get supply to the Centre Forward, nothing is the answer I see. Little if no crossing, Garnacho creates the most danger but his crosses are not getting through, has to improve his end product. He is very young, so needs time. What do we get from Antony, absolutely nothing, yet he gets picked.

McT, the manager wanted him out having allegedly decided he wasn’t good enough, now starts him in what would be Bruno’s position. Now Bruno, we play with heart and resilience at Liverpool but instead of sending the message that playing as a team is rewarded he brings the whining, injury feigning Bruno back in.

A lot of our issues are the sum of what happened in the club, the Murtough, Woodward and co but ETH is not showing capabilities as Manchester United manager. I sense the Villa game could be his Waterloo.

6.) 24 Dec 2023 12:19:18
This 400 million spent is a farce of an argument! He is without most of them or has been!

7.) 24 Dec 2023 12:33:03
He has had Anthony on the pitch regularly- one of the worst players ever to play in the PL. ETH is starting to really look out of his depth, yes there are injuries but there is no recognisable style of play, very few players have improved under him and his tactics are quite poor.

Has he really been a significant upgrade on Ole? I really don't know who we could replace him with but if SJR comes in with any sort of power then he really needs to take a long hard look at ETH, if he does i'm not sure ETH will be here long term.

8.) 24 Dec 2023 13:05:37
I ask again; who do you replace him with? Who is even available that you consider an improvement?

9.) 24 Dec 2023 14:02:14
Has last season disappeared from people memories! With a fit squad we made progress! This argument of style is pathetic, the squad is literally on its knees, it’s a mixture of ETH Jose ole players!

10.) 24 Dec 2023 14:51:28
Fizz. Any manager that actually gets the team playing, actually passing forwards and has some kind of plan. don't care who as long as you could see something. At the moment it's dead, just dead and we're sleep walking into the wilderness. Conte? Potter. I really don't care but this can't carry on and utter crap.

11.) 24 Dec 2023 15:08:01
Nick, be proud. Such a well thought out response. Well done. I see light at the end of the tunnel there so thank you.

12.) 24 Dec 2023 16:51:58
Like I said 3 months ago Hansi Flick is available won everything, managed elite players and available one usual suspect laughed at the suggestion until one of the Ed’s also named him, then that usual suspect went quiet, but TBF I would take anyone but this school teacher and his naughty step!

13.) 24 Dec 2023 18:08:27
You pick the best fit who is available for the new DoFs sporting vision. Theae guys have to be compatible and compliment each other. Ten Hag and Overmars is a good example for me or even Overmars and Van Bommel at Royal Antwerp.

I don't care for names or pedigree, I just want the right people in place in each position to allow us to move forward.

14.) 24 Dec 2023 20:13:18
got fired because he abandoned what made him a good manager, not sure he is the correct fit for United.

There is no point looking for a new manager, let's see how the season pans out, then a decision can be made. Personally for me there are no obvious candidates, especially when it comes to managing United, which has its own set of unique challenges.

15.) 24 Dec 2023 21:42:41
It's how I feel fizz and about 90% of the fan base. I pay each season goid money to watch utd, have done since 84 and I've never been so soul destroyed as this. So please don't be so patronising as that's how I feel. as I said don't care who it's got to be better than this dross pal.

16.) 24 Dec 2023 21:53:49
I would like to think the new shareholder will help deliver clarity of thought and finally a proper structure throughout the club. This will help ETH enormously.

17.) 24 Dec 2023 22:10:35
Some of you guys are a joke. want the manager fired because we are just not that good with what is on the pitch.

18.) 24 Dec 2023 22:23:39
bored and the new guy is the same old guy.

Redman

You make me laugh. waterloo huh lol.

19.) 24 Dec 2023 23:01:35
Nick that view isn’t even 90% of this page!

20.) 24 Dec 2023 23:04:46
Ahmad

Time and again the injury toll is brought up. NOBODY is denying that the injuries have had a huge toll on our season and sadly will continue to do so.

NOBODY is expecting miracles with the players at ETH disposal, NOBODY!

What the majority on this site want is 100% effort, win, lose, or draw.

If you are playing for United, and these players are playing for United regardless of what level they are currently at, then the absolute minimum is desire and effort.

I do NOT want ETH sacked but the dross he is serving up that he can influence is fast becoming a joke beyond words and I am teetering on the edge of wanting him out.

His demeanour on the bench is not exactly awe inspiring and he looks about as interested as Rashford.

He needs to buck up and very quickly before he loses the whole fanbase………even you!

21.) 24 Dec 2023 23:06:07
I just don't know what to do anymore what to do for the best. Sack ETH, keep him, get rid of the players. One week we're good, most of the time we're rubbish, Rashord leaves he probably becomes a player, Bruno running around like a headless chicken, Garnacho doing one good thing in ten, Antony like JaCk Russell running in circles, Hoiland a poor impression of Weghorst, McTominay scores a few goals but generally rubbish, no intensity in any game, strolling around waiting for the game to be over, looking to pass backwards all the time. ETH talking rubbish after the matches when we all see a different game. The only players I would keep are Mainoo, Shaw, Martinez and maybe give Hoiland a chance.

22.) 24 Dec 2023 23:56:49
Yes it is fizz, and about 95% at West ham yesterday. Reality is he should have been fired yonks ago, probably get villa then fired after another pathetic display of bewildering tactics.

23.) 25 Dec 2023 00:11:03
I don't think most of the fan base want ETH sacked, I think most of the fan base want to see progress with a plan. No one would mind it if ETH were to deliver it with the new team. A lot of people however don't believe he in him anymore.
Personally speaking I don't see how a management team keep him simply because they will want their guy who fits into their vision, it may be that Ten Hag is that guy, although I feel its unlikely.

Whatever your thoughts on Ten Hag, then the right thing to do for the new team is to get the right team for them in place.

24.) 25 Dec 2023 01:01:29
Bring back OGS!

25.) 25 Dec 2023 07:10:51
Keefy

People need to make up their mind and can't have it both ways. is it the players or the manager. Are these players notorious winners and underperforming under this manager or is it a case of very average players and a squad that is very dependent on a few key players and when not available or on form its a very average group.

Is it a case of good manager trying to get a tune out of a squad that atm and has so many injuries and can't even field a first 11 that one can say that our best or close to best 11.

We will find out come this summer who stays who goes, until then its a season that will frustrate.

I did not see the Westham game so can't comment on the game.
.

The best news we got was Ineos finally getting it done. it might take some time but they will bring a lot of good things that is very much needed to the club.

26.) 25 Dec 2023 10:53:14
I don't care whether ETH stays or goes. If he fits in with Ratcliffe and his new DoF then great. If not, then also great.

27.) 25 Dec 2023 13:28:43
It’s time to get rid of Ten Haag now; not because of the poor results, but because of the god awful performances, terrible in-game managements, and deluded post-game comments. Bring SAF back until the end of the season and then clean house in the summer.

28.) 25 Dec 2023 13:47:52
SAF haha no chance.

We’ve got a new poster here who told us all what needed to happen 3 months ago.

29.) 25 Dec 2023 16:08:37
Eric, be careful what you wish for. If EtH is sacked then the most likely scenario is a temporary manager until the end of the season.

They will need time for SJR and his new people to get their feet under the table and start making decisions on how to run the club and what changes are needed.

They certainly won't be making any snap decisions on who will be coming in as manager.

OGS will likely feature highly on that list of potential temporary managers due to his availability and his past association with the club. The fact he could step straight in with minimal fuss or upheaval.

If EtH is sacked before the end of the season, particularly if it's in the next month or two then the most likely outcome will be a temporary manager until the end of the season.

30.) 25 Dec 2023 18:15:24
LOL. You come up with some crackers least your in the correct season for them.

How on earth can you even think OGS would stand a chance, there are another 10 plus managers who are out of work and could step in if that’s what is required! You’re making it sound like he is the chosen one…… have some more Turkey and a sleep.

31.) 25 Dec 2023 20:17:38
So if we compare eth to someone like howe . One is under pressure the other is very popular .
Both teams over achieved last season, both are out of Europe, both out of the caribou Cup and very similar league position, both teams terrible injuries this season, both took full advantage of others having a poor season last season .
There are differences though firstly you can see what howe is doing tactically much clearer, at home atleast front foot high press stuff .
Player wise, players who were relegation fodder in a dour team are now much improved footballers, almiron, joelinton, shcar, lascelles, longstaff, willock and Murphy.
Transfer wise both have spent big but they have spent wiser .
Its difficult to justify some of the players we have bought for the reported financial cost of the fee and the wages .
I use them as a comparison they have players who improved under the coach, have we,
They have a clear method of playing and it's pretty entertaining, are we . They have spent less than us but maybe bought better aswell .
This isn't a newcastle love in post its just meant to imply managers there a similar time frame but hard to see what ours is doing great at .

JohnTheRedMaroon97

1.) Tuesday on ITV1.

2.) Tuesday on itv

3.) I am sure you could find that information out without posting on here, its not exactly banter. The game is on Tuesday and there are tickets available, get yourself down there.

4.) Does anyone know if there's a way to watch itv on the iPhone without wifi, I only ask as I'm laid up in the bloody hospital at the moment and there's no tv on my ward, and I will be gutted if I miss our first cl match of the campaign. Any ideas would be welcome.

5.) Discharge yourself!

6.) Never mind, I've just discovered that the itv player no longer needs WIFI to use it. I feel a bit silly now lol.

7.) I tried that this afternoon pancho but my girlfriend kicked my ass all the way back here lol!

People slate Ten Hag about bringing through youth but he has brought through two in his 1.5 seasons so far, Garnacho now becoming a starring regular and Mainoo is a sensation. On top of this, Kambwala has looked steady when he has played, would be good to see him a few more times before end of the season.

Excited to see Shea Lacey (along with a potential number of others) from the u18s in the next 1-3 years.

I will eat my hat if we appoint Southgate, it won't happen. Just a slow news week because it's internationals.

Tbf, Tumbleweed, gloating when you beat rivals is one of the best things about football, bragging rights in a particular fixture is always the sweetest when you've won the most recent fixture.

I was born in '97 and just old enough to remember the good times, Liverpool fans certainly still enjoyed their wins and took the P when they beat us in those years.

My local team is Hearts, our rivalry with Hibs is ridiculously one sided for two clubs of a similar size, but you better believe Hibs fans still gloat when they beat us, they don't worry about the historical record in those moments.

Giggs to Sheringham, I know Martial has been absolutely awful the last three years and he was very patchy before but let's not exaggerate. Martial scored 23 goals in the 19/ 20 season, so his last good moment was not in 2016.

I genuinely think he is injured, he is just injury prone, it happens.

Yes, he has been a massive disappointment and has not shown anything for about 4 years but some of the shouts here are over the top.

I agree, ahead, I had a soft spot for Martial for years but even I lost patience with him last couple of seasons.

Ole played him too much through injury and this has contributed to his physical collapse.

He had one very good season with Ole and a few other good ones but it never lasts long enough.
